He’s wicked hot, a huge flirt and has one of the sexiest British accents I’ve ever heard. But beyond all that, I see a darkness in his soul, as if he’s carrying a great weight upon his shoulders. I find myself pushing back my trip home to Florida in hopes that maybe I’ll look into those hazel brown eyes and finally see truth shining back instead of lies. A date with him is being auctioned off at a charity event, and she refuses to let the opportunity slip through her fingers. Dylan doesn’t want to be sold like a slab of meat. He was wrong...”
  • Dangerous Control (Dark Dominance Book 3) by Annabel Joseph <— ANNABEL JOSEPH DARK READ ALERT!! “…Alice definitely doesn’t understand. I wore that love like a crown . . . until he placed it on another’s head. Losing him was agony, distance felt like the only cure. When tragedy reunites us after years apart, it only takes one touch to erase the past. Just like that, I’m back in his arms. He promises this time will be different. But I’m afraid to believe him…

Stephanie: Omg… this book was AMAZING!!!!

Meagan: I just finished yesterday, it was good!

  • For the King by Jenika Snow <— THE KING GETS WHAT HE WANTS… “...from the moment I saw her I knew she was mine. I had to have her, not just in my bed but also by my side. *tosses glitter and sparklies* ‘cuz I’ve been slacking…

Kandace M June 4, 2018 at 5:56 AM

I though for sure I’d take the upset for first place!

Maryse June 4, 2018 at 6:05 AM

Which upset, Kandace? I’m intrigued!

Maryse June 4, 2018 at 6:06 AM

Am I missing a book on here? Do tell!!! :D

*twirls in the glitter, relieved that Grey is back!!*

How are you my friend?

Leslie M June 4, 2018 at 6:40 AM

Happy Monday!

bev June 4, 2018 at 7:25 AM

Lol!

I don’t think Maryse must watch a lot of sports.

Maryse June 4, 2018 at 7:39 AM

Sports?

What are… sports? ;)

Why are we upset about sports?

Grey June 4, 2018 at 9:06 AM

*giggles* Oh, Maryse. You’re the best. As for me, I’m putting one foot in front of the other.

Sorry Kandace…maybe tomorrow?? I had to get things back to normal around here… Apparently there were search parties being sent to opium fields or some such nonsense… *shrug*

Let’s start a game early today…
3 things;
1) No clue what’s for dinner, in fact my most hated question ever is, “What’s for dinner?” gah! Maybe we will grill burgers and potatoes and onions.
2) I am in a major book slump…keep trying to push myself out of it.
3) I have fantastic looking toenails right now. I did a pink basecoat with multicolored glitter (shocker, right?) over it and they are just so pretty.

bev June 4, 2018 at 9:44 AM

1. I’m having not the greatest morning.
2. Listening to Uptown Funk. Change the beat for the day, make it better.
3. Broken record, but….The Kiss Quotient and Secretary Kim .
So. Freaking. Excited. Let it live up to my excitement.

Grey & Kandace read The Kiss Quotient with me.

I wonder what Kandace thinks of K dramas.

Nay June 4, 2018 at 9:45 AM

Good morning! Oooh, 3 things is great because I can put my ranty comment that I came here to make in it!

3 Things:

1) I am OVER the covers with guys wearing crowns or tattoos that have been photoshopped onto their head or body. I think they look SO cheesy and they totally turn me off from reading the book.
2) I love to sit outside with my coffee when I read or ‘play’ on my laptop, especially on cooler mornings like today.
3) My oldest son is getting ready to fly the coop for good, and although I’m thrilled he’ll be back in college after taking 18 months off (mainly because of my situation), I’m so sad that he’ll be 3 hours away!

R. Renee June 4, 2018 at 9:57 AM

1. I woke up at 4am and promised myself I’d only read ONE chapter of American Prince. Now I’m exhausted.
2. There’s a chocolate sheet cake in the fridge right now and I promised myself I wouldn’t eat it for breakfast. Obviously I don’t keep my promises.
3. I promise not to write today. Not one single word. ;)

Maryse June 4, 2018 at 11:17 AM

bev, I bet because her name starts with a K, she’ll LOVE them! :)

*tee hee* (that’s my 5 year old reasoning, in action)

Maryse June 4, 2018 at 11:25 AM

Three things:

1.) For some reason, I’m not in the least bit hungry today. Yesterday either. But I power cooked a TON of great stuff over the weekend so I have plenty of leftovers.
2.) I’m reading “The Wife Between Us” and I’m hooked. This is exactly the kind of psych-thriller I love. Will she become a stalker, is she going through a downward spiral, what will she do? Is her ex-husband the bad guy? < — Right now I’m stuck right in the middle in that perception. Clues about her old life with him as his wife (direct from her own thoughts)… reveal that I’m in for something big. GAH!!! What twist will blindside me?!!!

She’s the ex-wife, and her husband is marrying a younger woman, and she has not moved on and wants him back… she seems like she just might be losing it (but bits and pieces of their past life together is being revealed ever so subtly). I LOVE WHEN THAT HAPPENS!!!

3.) Its so hot and humid out, I want to go for a swim. I just may… and then lazily read my book while I float. :)

MichelleS June 4, 2018 at 11:25 AM

Three things:

1.) It’s ugly outside and it is supposed to last all week – last week it was over 100 and I thought summer was here. Psych. Welcome to Texas.

2.) Not finding any book that grabs me right now. I read four samples last night and can’t remember names or anything. Please no slump for me. Pray for me.

3.) My hubby got a Harley – and the MC book lover in me is giddy – and the wife in me is terrified. Shouldn’t have told him how hot guys on bikes are. UGH.

Nay June 4, 2018 at 11:36 AM

Michelle–OMG I almost put in my ’3 things’ that my hubby is talking about buying another Harley! He was showing them to me alllll night last night. I used to love seeing him in his leathers and doo rag, so I’m not too upset about it! lol This will be the 3rd one he’s had.

What type of book are you wanting to read, Michelle? Do you have any idea??

Leslie M June 4, 2018 at 12:11 PM

Three Things:

1 – My toenails are pretty cool right now too. I found the best bubble gum pink shade. Essie’s “Need a Vacation”

2 – The worst part of my day is ALWAYS trying to figure out dinner. No idea why this stresses me out so much, but it consumes me. I cannot properly function til meal planning complete. Tonite is stuffed peppers. Phew!

3 – I wish I could be “not hungry”. All I want to do lately is eat everything in sight. The eat pickles to curb your salt craving didnt work. :(

Tessa June 4, 2018 at 12:14 PM

1. Finished reading Dirt Nap by AJ Aalto yesterday and sobbed hysterically over that ending. So… as I was still sobbing I went and got the next (fifth) book of the series to hope it stopped my crying. It did… a little. Enough to fall asleep.

2. My cat is weird. He was on little dude’s windowsill last night, and jumped into his tent (He has a bed tent he likes to sleep in. A bed with a literal tent around it) and then meowed because he couldn’t figure out how to get out. So, I got him out, he meowed at me to show he wanted back in the tent. He got kicked out of little dude’s room instead. :P

3. I’m gonna make potato salad today. I’m craving potato salad so that’s what I’m having. Doesn’t it sound yummy? Yummmmm

Nay June 4, 2018 at 12:23 PM

Yummmm! Someone made potato salad on Guy’s Grocery Games last night and my mouth was watering!

Grey June 4, 2018 at 1:10 PM

I have a crown. Do you still like me, Nay? I feel like we are in that movie, Meet the Parents…

Tessa June 4, 2018 at 1:11 PM

Truly? I wanted some last night, but thought, nah, tomorrow. It sounds so good right now. And homemade, not the one from the store. Homemade always tastes better.

Nay June 4, 2018 at 1:38 PM

Grey–I’m talking about the fake crowns, not the REAL ones! teeheehee

Yes, Tessa! They were making it with the tiny red potatoes, and a light dressing and even though I love Southern potato salad with it’s chopped pickle, boiled egg, lots o’ mayonnaise-y goodness, it looked awesome!

Robyn June 4, 2018 at 1:42 PM

Yes, potato salad and homemade. Now I’m craving that!

3 things
1- I went to brunch with my daughter this morning. Lovely little place and had biscuits and gravy with a frozen hot chocolate.

2. It’s going to be hotter than hell today in Phoenix. That’s what I call it when it’s 110+. I’m not moving from my a/c today.

3. My son, who is 20, got a ninja crotch rocket the other day. He has no experience driving a motorcycle and I’m not happy that the state of MD licensed him. What were they thinking?! Scares me to death.

Other than that I’m finishing up The Hating Game. Very good book and funny. I also finished book one of Jane Yellowrock. It was so low going for half the book then started picking up. Jane needs a love interest to keep my interest! LOL

Tessa June 4, 2018 at 2:34 PM

She will! She will have a love interest!

bev June 4, 2018 at 3:08 PM

Good enough reason. I like your thinking Maryse.

Maryse June 4, 2018 at 3:43 PM

I love your nail polish colors both Grey and Leslie. Pink is MY color. Baby pinks, nude pinks, ballerina pinks to “Harem” from Illamasqua, which is more of a purplish-pink. Cream colors, all of them.

Pure nude color is nice too, for a change. I’ve never been a bold color color. In fact, I was sure I’d hate “Harem” but it makes me feet look so pretty and feminine!

Maryse June 4, 2018 at 3:44 PM

Motorcycles, huh?

*waggles eyebrows*

Tee hee!!!

Maryse June 4, 2018 at 3:47 PM

LOL Nay… I sometimes think the authors do it on purpose for the goofy effect (part of the slapstick comedy romance angle?) Maybe I need to look closely. LOL!

And I agree with you, on cool days, tolerably cool, I should say, I spend the day outside reading and blogging. So peaceful.

Ashley June 4, 2018 at 5:10 PM

1. I’m on vacation and I was up until 4 in the morning reading The Bride series by S. Doyle. They were SO good! If you’re in a slump it’s basically 5 novellas all on KU about a girl who’s almost 17 and marries the foreman/her best friend on her ranch after her father dies so she doesn’t go into foster care. It’s funny, touching and really well written – I didn’t know if I would like it but it completely sucked me in! It’s a slow burn which are my favorite type.

2. I mowed the lawn today so that I felt as though I actually got something accomplished.

3. I ate leftover egg rolls for breakfast. No shame in my game.

MichelleS June 4, 2018 at 5:52 PM

Yes, Maryse…. motorcycles! Ack! It’s so loud. Apparently, if you say potato over & over really fast, that’s the sound a Harley makes! It’s true. LOL.

Jan June 4, 2018 at 5:56 PM

Yay! Maryse did 3 things! *claps hands*

I love pink too. It’s always been my colour. I’m a girly girl.

I one-clicked Even Money. Hope it’s good!!!! The Kiss Quotient sounds good bev, but the kindle pre-order price is really expensive…… I might wait to read a coupla reviews once it’s published then decide whether to take a chance.

OK, 3 things.
1. It’s WINTER here now! We’ve already had some fog and frost. But nice sunny days that make up for it. Getting up to about 16 in the afternoon (that’s something like 60 degrees to you guys.) But freezing nights. *shivers*
2. I’m working a part-time contract at the moment, more than my usual casual work. I’m just loving my classes. Teenagers are so great. Hey, I’m not being ironic here. I seriously love my job. Although I do have a big pile of essay marking to do this afternoon (on my ‘day off’ :/)
3. I’m rehearsing at the moment as part of a massive combined choir. We’re gonna sing Carl Orff’s big number ‘O Fortuna’ at a concert later this month. All those voices and the orchestra. It sounds GREAT! And the words are all in Latin LOL.
