in Latest Book Releases

Good morning and happy Monday everyone!!! A great start to the week when we can sleep in, and laze-around in our pjs an extra day!! And… READ!!! :D And I’ve got a review coming up in just a few hours. ;)

But first!! THREE THINGS

  1. I’m getting into the holiday spirit and learning to make Christmas-treat scented candles!! Cute little homemade jar ones, and they’re curing as we speak. I can’t wait to see how well they burn and smell – I mixed and matched these scents to make candy cane candles and gingerbread candles. *fingers crossed* If all goes well, I’ll give some to my friends and family to try!
  2. My re-organizing of the site and properly categorizing the best blog posts into a “pick your genre” list (for better searching) is coming along nicely!! I’m an organizer and a list-maker at heart, so this is soothing to my soul. Each day… a new and improved category. ;)
  3. It’s still pretty hot out here, always in the 80s during the day. *sigh* Can’t wait for more regular crisp and chilly days!

  1. Mouth to Mouth (Beach Kingdom) by Tessa Bailey <— Tessa Bailey ALERT!! HER LATEST IS LIVE!!! She’s one of my favorite authors in the world!!!! :D !!! Someday I’ll remember that he talks faster than he thinks, and any idea out of his mouth is probably a bad one. Until then, let me explain how I got into this mess. My name is Avery Jane, and I’m about to show you what happens when a fake relationship gets all too real...”
  7. Confessions: The Princess, The Prick & The Priest (Confessions Series Book 4) by Ella Frank <— LIVE!!! ELLA FRANK M/M ROMANCE ALERT!!! “…My men are smart, sexy, sophisticated—and most of all, crazy about me. The only problem is trying to explain that to my big, opinionated Italian family. But after all we’ve been through, we deserve a happily ever after…”
  8. For Keeps by Tiffany Patterson <— FOOTBALL STAR ALERT!! “...after having my heart crushed once by the man who claimed to love me and only me, I wasn’t exactly itching to take another walk down that aisle. 9. Heartthrob (Bennett Brothers Series) by Ahren Sanders <— HE’S TAKING HIS SHOT…. “…my time came. I saw my shot, took it, and never looked back. What I didn’t know was some mistakes are irreparable. Claire thinks our happily ever after is impossible, but I have other plans...”

I’m so jealous, no sleeping in for me or laying around in my PJ’s reading :-( but I did just start bloodstained beauty (at work hehe) and right from the beginning I am hooked!!!!!!

3 Things-

1-Did a lot of yard cleanup yesterday, the leaves are so pretty when there on the trees not so much laying all over the yard but I made huge leave piles and played in them with my dogs so much fun!

2-I really need new clothes but for the love of God why can’t I find anything (priced reasonable :-) ) to buy. Everything I do love is way out of my league price wise; yes even on sale…makes me grumpy.

3-Starting my food/grocery list for Thanksgiving dinner-My mommy is coming-I am so excited And she’s sleeping over. Can’t tell you the last time I woke up and had coffee with my Mom. Get emotional just thinking about it! So special!

Maryse November 12, 2018 at 10:34 AM

Oh it’s so fun when our mommies are with us for the Holidays!!!! My mom was with my for my birthday in August and I miss her so much.

Jenn November 12, 2018 at 10:54 AM

Absolutely it is Maryse! My mom lost her life partner of 38 years on June 5th and I know it’s going to be hard for her actually for all of us; but mostly her. I am hoping being together will ease the ache a little for her.

Theresa silverberg November 12, 2018 at 11:21 AM

Marsye, just got email new release from Aly Martinez December 6, up fir pre order.

Tasha J November 12, 2018 at 11:49 AM

1. I’m on top of things today. Got bedding in the wash courtesy of J’s wetting of the bed- I was planning to anyway. Boys bathed- I was planning to anyway. Haha…Grocery shopping for the week done. Team apparel ordered. I have a few places to run yet, sweeping and cooking, but I’m feeling good about these accomplishments! Lol

2. It’s gonna snow tonight, I will spend tomorrow catching up more in Home on my to do lists- maybe even watch a movie. I hope.

3. Christmas shopping is underway. I have a love/hate relationship with it.

Michele G November 12, 2018 at 11:55 AM

Good Monday Morning everyone!!

First of all, thanks to Maryse for the fabulous organizing…I love it!! Also, I’m impressed by your candle making…you’ll have to let us know how they turn out.

Jenn, I can imagine how excited you are to have “Mom time”…I got mine last week when I went to visit my Mom and Dad in NC…I have to go to them because they can’t travel anymore…but it’s always special. Hugs to you and her…I can imagine it will be a difficult holiday season for all of you.

3 Things:
1. Sadly, I’m not lounging around reading today either…well…actually, I may or may not have been a smidgen late to work today because I was lounging around a little too long in my jammies reading BEFORE I got my behind up and moving to get to work….I’m blaming Tristan and Danika…

2. I cleaned out my closet yesterday…felt pretty good about myself but then I realized a favorite pair of my jeans is missing. So.. I’m going to have to go back through the donation bags to see if I accidentally put them in there. This is what happens when I try to get organized…

3. I was immersed in the world of Tristan and Danika all weekend (actually still am…I’m currently on the 3rd book, Lovely Trigger). I am absolutely loving it…even though they are breaking my heart!! I thought I’d mix it up with a psych thriller on audio to listen to while I cooked, cleaned and organized my closet…so I listened to Pretty Girls and the prequel, Blonde Hair, Blue Eyes by Karen Slaughter. I was looking for an emotional break…..I did NOT get one. I was pulled through a total emotional wringer of a different type. It is a very graphic book in all the ways you can imagine but there is also the emotional damage to the families left behind. This book kind of follows one family and you see the devastation left behind after one of their three daughters disappears. It’s just so heartbreaking. As the mother of a college age daughter, it strikes a little too close to home.

Amy November 12, 2018 at 12:07 PM

Oh Michele G…isn’t the series wonderful? I’ve said it many, many times before but I’ll say it again: I ugly-sobbed happy tears at the end. GAH!! Love T&D. :D

Three things:
1. I want a jelly bean-scented candle at Easter. Hint hint. ;)

2. I’m working today, but it will be slow (meaning reading time) and it’s time and a half so YAY ME!

3. I’m contemplating going back to school. Again. *sigh* Getting restless easily is not fun sometimes.

Maryse November 12, 2018 at 1:14 PM

Mmmmm… jelly bean!!!! On it!

Nay November 12, 2018 at 1:50 PM

Just popping in to say hey! Will be back later when things aren’t crazy!

And I still haven’t started Binding 13, BDB, or any of the other books I intended to read this weekend. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but it seems like there’s no time to read. I want to be a lazy sloth again!

Amy November 12, 2018 at 1:56 PM

*happy dances for jelly bean candle*

Oh! I just remembered it’s voting day for the final round on GR!

Amy November 12, 2018 at 2:02 PM

Never mind, it’s not until the 13th. *pouts like a toddler*

JR November 12, 2018 at 2:03 PM

1-I’m working from home today because my hot water heater isn’t working. Pretty sure I’m going to need a new one – not the Christmas present I had in mind!

2-I love your organizing Maryse! My fav is fake relationships – you can start on that one first :)

3-I’m excited because I’m headed to NYC this weekend to see some Broadway plays with my youngest daughter. Her birthday present was tickets to Harry Potter.

I finished Hate Notes over the weekend and really enjoyed it. I gave it 4.5*. I liked the quirkiness of the heroine. It was a fun, sweet read.

Robyn November 12, 2018 at 2:06 PM

I love Tristan and Danika too. One of my favorite series.

My 3 things

1- I finally found this sweet little farm that sold apple cider donuts. I have been on the hunt since I got to MD. I also found a Carmel apple pie, apple bread and apple dumplings. How could I just leave them on the shelf being lonely. So they hopped in my cart and came home with me. I love apple season. We don’t really have that in AZ.

2- Speaking of AZ. I’m headed back home Saturday. My daughter is driving back with the pup and me. We are taking 4 days instead of 3 this round. So if you know any good vegetarian restaurants in Indianapolis, Oklahoma City , El Paso or Albuquerque let me know. We will be staying in these cities overnight. And I get hangry with all that driving. LOL

3- looking forward to warmer temps. I’m freezing in MD. Pray for no snow on the trip back.

JR November 12, 2018 at 2:06 PM

Oh – and I didn’t realize it until after I bought it, but it looks like you can download Hate Notes for free for a limited time if you are an Amazon Prime member.

Jenn November 12, 2018 at 2:37 PM

MicheleG-thank you *squeeze hugs* to you. T&D *sigh* hey has Amy told you to listen to a certain song yet?

Tessa November 12, 2018 at 2:58 PM

1. The air here SUCKS. Today isn’t as bad as Sat, but that’s not saying much. Saturday you could see the smoke haze just looking across the street at the neighbor’s house. Today, it’s the poles behind the house that are hazy.

Tessa November 12, 2018 at 2:58 PM

2. We need a reverse harem list. :)

3. Glade has a holiday scent of pine that actually smells like pine that doesn’t use any actual pine! I need to get to Target this week once the air clears and buy them out. Pine scent without the allergy! SCORE!

Tessa November 12, 2018 at 2:59 PM

Weird, that was one post… lol Gremlins in my computer again.

Maryse November 12, 2018 at 3:15 PM

Tessa!! YES!!! The reverse harem list has been requested by someone else too, and it’s on my “To Do” list. :D

Tasha J November 12, 2018 at 4:57 PM

Fashion help!!
This top I have
With this bottom
The sales lady told me to pair with some opaque tights. (I never dress up, so I said what’re those?). What color do I get? I’m hoping Walmart has some cuz there’s nothing around here. Kohl’s has zip. And I’m thinking brown ankle boots? That shirt will be tucked in the front. And white tank under cuz it slits a little low.
P.S. this is for a funeral.

bev November 12, 2018 at 5:36 PM

I’d say black tights. But I haven’t worn a skirt in decades.

Tessa, hope you are safe where you are. I think, where I live, fire season gets scarier every year.

Seriously Amy I need your energy. Dont you work over 40 hours a week?

I feel like I’m going through a quiet period right now, lol. Maybe hibernation in preparation for winter. Still not reading as much. So if I’m quiet and dont pop in as much that is why. Not ghosting you all.

Michele G November 12, 2018 at 5:41 PM

Jenn, No I haven’t heard what song???

bev November 12, 2018 at 5:48 PM

Michele G, this one:

Amy LOVES Epik High. And Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda.

Oh, and Maryse LOVES Tell the Truth Shame the Devil.

And with those insights for some of the newer members into some OG members…I’m out. For now. ;)

Amy November 12, 2018 at 5:52 PM

Michele G, this song:

You’re welcome. :P

Tessa November 12, 2018 at 6:01 PM

I’m fine, just can’t go outside due to the winds blowing all the smoke here. This time of year we have eastern winds. The fire itself is about three hours NE from here, but the winds are carrying everything to the valley. Our air isn’t as bad as San Francisco, but it’s still crappy. Honestly, being in a valley is helping. It has to go over the hills in the north and east. :)

Maryse, do you want help? I’ve, erm, read a ton. :P

Amy November 12, 2018 at 6:06 PM

I’m not worried, bev. You can’t ghost us. I’ll find you. And hug you.

That’s a promise.

Maryse November 12, 2018 at 6:16 PM

Yes please TESSA!!!! I’ll the start whole category with a post dedicated to you and your favorites. OMG that would be fantastic!!!!!

Leslie M November 12, 2018 at 6:27 PM

Tasha, I think black tights.

Outfit is adorable by the way.

Leslie M November 12, 2018 at 6:35 PM

Oh and Tasha, if black tights felt too dark for you, I think off white would work too.

I love the look of the tights color contrasting with skirt color.

R. Renee November 12, 2018 at 7:49 PM

Tasha, I think go with a soft cream, especially with the brown boots, but IDK how opaque I’d go. I’d probably pick something a tiny bit sheer-er (pretend that’s a word).

Sorry about your loss. <3

Tasha J November 12, 2018 at 8:09 PM

Thanks you guys! Maybe I’ll get 1 of each and look at them together. I hate shopping, it’s the worst. I do have black ankle boots too. Or a tall black boot, but I thought that might be a little hookerish? I dk. I hate to spend money on a new pair of shoes just for this. I have wanted new booties for a long time…but, I wanna wait till next year. I can’t actually wear flats either. My feet slide out. But, I have some black sketcher go walks. Probably not dressy enough?

Tessa November 12, 2018 at 9:00 PM

*grins* This is going to be fun!

Amy November 12, 2018 at 9:35 PM

How did I miss the shopping fun???

Here’s my opinion (it may or may not work for you, so go with what you are most comfortable with). For a funeral, I would pair tights with that outfit (freaking adorable, by the way!) which aren’t opaque but not sheer either, so right in the middle, with the taller black boots.

BUT! Like R said, some cream tights would work as well, so I would get both and see what works for you.

Amy November 12, 2018 at 9:38 PM

And if tall boots look hookerish, then I’m a walking, talking lady of the night all the time. LOL! By the way…no to the Skechers go walks. Not with that outfit. ;)

Glad you’re safe, Tessa. *huge hugs*

R. Renee November 12, 2018 at 9:45 PM

I agree with Amy too on the tall boots, but for a funeral I’d match the tights to the boots if they’re tall. Otherwise I’d go with the brown ankle boots and “in the middle” opaqueness creamish tights. That’s not vague at all right?

Amy November 12, 2018 at 10:04 PM

Wait, the ankle boots are brown? Then I agree…definitely cream semi-opaque tights with the brown ankle boots and black semi-opaque tights with the tall black boots.

Melinda November 13, 2018 at 1:37 AM

I love that outfit Tasha, shame it’s getting hot here.

I would definately wear black tights old fashioned funeral colour. With long black boots. Sorry for your loss. I hate funerals. Just went to one last week.
A childhood friend died at 52 years. So sad.

Amy, what are you thinking of studying?

I would love to go back and study. Then I think, what for? Travel is better. I don’t need the stress.

Jenn November 13, 2018 at 6:58 AM

Sorry Michele I forgot to send the song but looks like Bev/Amy had it covered :-)

Tasha-loved the outfit as well and sorry for you loss *hugs*

Maryse November 13, 2018 at 9:47 AM

I’m with Amy and R.
