in Latest Book Releases

Happy Monday & Happy December!! A few “earlybirds” went live today (like that one there to the left…. it’s a touch forbiddenny ;) ) and tomorrow looks like it’s going to be an amazing new release day!!!

Three things!

1.) I still haven’t put up my Christmas tree and I dunno why (I had all intentions on putting it up on the day after Thanksgiving – Black Friday – but I got hooked on shopping for deals instead). I WANT it up. I do!! I just can’t find the *ooooomph* I need to START it. I’m in the Christmas spirit. Christmas gifts bought. Christmas smelling candles…on. Holidays… planned. But tree? *shrug* I make the most GORGEOUS Christmas tree, too… I mean something that I just marvel at and that just makes my house SO much cozier at night. And yet… mine is currently still in it’s box. *sigh* I gotta get moving. I’ll regret it if I don’t. THIS is the time. UPDATE: Okay wait!! My mom and I just decided we’ll BOTH put up are trees on Saturday December 8th together via Facetime. YAY ME!! I knew I was holding off for a reason. :D

2.) Speaking of which, I didn’t get in on the huge Bath & Body Works “Candle Day” sale (like I normally do) because I made my own this year. It feels weird to not have a bunch of their candles headed my way, but homemade is more special.

3.) I made the most awesome TURKEY stock today from my Thanksgiving turkey of awesomeness. It’s the turkey that keeps on giving. LOL!!!!

It was a win-win situation. That was until the famous actor decided he wanted out of the deal and Mr. Available was a no-show during the biggest snowstorm of the year. Poor schmuck didn’t realize that all the drama he had experienced in Tinseltown was nothing compared to dealing with this bitch…”

I didn’t want anything to do with the empire I had the chance to inherit. Then I discovered how my jerk of a half-brother was currently running things. I might not want the job, but I damn well deserve it just as much as him. All I need to do is prove my worth by managing a failing boy band, H3RO, back to stardom...” Er… oh. Umm… it’s a reverse-harem K-Pop. Again… might be fun…? ;)

  14. Make You Mine: A Brother’s Best Friend Standalone Romance by Tia Louise <— LIVE!!! HE JUST CAME BACK FROM THE MILITARY & SHE’S HIS BEST FRIEND’S LITTLE SISTER…“…Drew Harris was just a kid, a senior in high school, my best friend’s little sister. K pop reverse harem…LOL!

bev December 3, 2018 at 8:30 AM

1. I read 3 (3!) books this weekend. I put off everything I needed to do…..but still it felt good.

2. Going to make a thermos of coffee with peppermint creamer and read on my commute.

3. Speaking of kpop…. IU was in my favorite show this year, but she is also a very successful singer. This song is from last year(?) and its adorable. It’s that she is 25 and now knows what she likes like short hair and pajamas with buttons. With a sweet cameo and message to her by G Dragon. Cute video.

Put the English captions on and tell me you haven’t felt this way a few different times in life. I feel like I’m going through one of these times now. Except….a lot older.

Leslie M December 3, 2018 at 8:35 AM

Happy Monday! I too am in peppermint-mocha-coffee bliss. Yum!

Maryse, I was supposed to have my tree ready for Thanksgiving (to celebrate with in-laws as they aren’t here for Christmas) and it never happened. It’s now assembled but not yet decorated. Trying to motivate myself now.

Bev read 3 books?!? Thats great!!!

I have a small sprial sliced ham I want to make for dinner. Did someone say they used Crock-Pot for ham?? I’m thinking that might make it juicy and tender.

Leslie M December 3, 2018 at 8:38 AM

Oh, and for those not checking GR…some sad news. Poor Nay broke her leg. I don’t know all the details except that she was in ER waiting to get surgery and that it hurt like a “mofo”. :(

Maryse December 3, 2018 at 8:45 AM

OH NO!!!!!!

Tasha J December 3, 2018 at 9:02 AM

Poor Nay!!! Oh my gosh, that’s just awful. :(

Leslie, that would be me for the slow cooker on ham. I don’t really cook meat in the oven a lot Bc I don’t know what I’m doing, so crockpot it is. Is it precooked and thawed? You’re really just warming it up if so, so i just put the ham in and whatever liquid I’m using, like a little pineapple juice for example, and heat it on low for a few hours. If u leave it in too long it’ll dry out so the typical 6-7 hours is too much for it. I’d start with 2 hours and check it from there.

Leslie M December 3, 2018 at 9:03 AM

I was worried because that can’t be good for her heart.

Leslie M December 3, 2018 at 9:04 AM

Thanks Tasha! That’s what I was going to do. I figured 2 or 3 hrs on low. It’s precooked and thawed spiral sliced ham.

Jenn December 3, 2018 at 9:25 AM

Leslie you are making me hungry. I loved spiral ham in crock pot, I do mine with pineapple and maraschino cherries on top of it and mixed the juices and poor over the top of it. YUM! Unfortunately my hubs hates warm ham but I still make it this way and than when cooled make him ham sandwich on ciabatta roll!

bev December 3, 2018 at 9:31 AM

Poor Nay!

Grey December 3, 2018 at 9:35 AM

I have made a ham in the instant pot and it was delish.

1) I’ve started a book and I’m actually reading again. Woot woot!
2) I feel the need to leave food on my porch for the UPS guy… He drops by so often he’s practically a member of my household at this point.
3) I need more Peppermint Mocha in my life. Starbucks tomorrow…

Maryse December 3, 2018 at 9:40 AM

LOL Grey!!! I feel the same way about my drivers. I need to make a Christmas snack box for them!

Maryse December 3, 2018 at 9:40 AM

Yummy!! You guys with your ham-talk and I’m so hungry right now!!!

Jenn December 3, 2018 at 9:43 AM

Three things-

1-I finished Paper Princess-Erin Watts and immediately went on to Broken Prince, I am telling you these books are crack to me. So freaking addicting! The last series I read that I felt this way about was The Keatyn Chronicles-Jillian Dodd.

2-One of my hubs good friends has a x-mas party every year for his employees and every year he invites us and THIS year his secretary and husband rented a limo and texted us that they are picking us up! So I don’t have to worry about anyone drinking and driving and I don’t have to be the DD :-) YAY ME I can get my drink on too!

3-I am super mad at Kohls-I ordered 5 of the Big One blankets Maryse posted about on Black Friday and 3 of the 5 they have told me they cancelled my order because they don’t have that particular one in stock any longer but I go on their site and they show in stock-and to add to that I have given them other ones that they show in stock to replace the ones they cancelled and they want to charge me the price today 14.99 not the 7.49 I originally purchased them for. WTF That is just so wrong!

Grey December 3, 2018 at 9:46 AM

Jenn, contact Kohl’s customer service. I have never had an issue with them if I contacted them about something. They want your business…

Jenn December 3, 2018 at 10:42 AM

Thanks Grey-I am actually awaiting a call back from them as instead of keeping me on hold they stated they would look into it and call me back. I am a very patient person and I have never ever had any issues with Kohl’s and I understand things happen and things sell so fast stock numbers aren’t able to keep up-truly what has me so upset is them wanting to charge me more to replace those three blankets they cancelled. I am sure I will get it worked out and if not I am not going to worry about it…I was mad but over it…..Because it’s hard to stay mad about something so insignificant when poor NAY is hurting!

Michele G December 3, 2018 at 11:15 AM

I’m continuing with Leslie’s concern for Nay. I texted her this morning to get an update…radio silence…which tells me either her phone died, her husband confiscated it, or she is in surgery (finally). I think Grey mentioned on another thread that we need to bubble wrap her and her entire family… great suggestion…I think we should order the bubble wrap now…and include enough for the dog! Continue to send prayers and positive thoughts her way…even once she gets through surgery, my guess is that this is going to be a rough recovery….

Michele G December 3, 2018 at 11:21 AM

1. Christmas décor is finally up IN my house…thanks to my hubby for stepping up this year.
2. Started Dumplin’ and am over halfway through it…I love it!
3. I have absolutely NO idea what’s for dinner…and this is the one night this week that I can actually cook. The rest of our week is crazy. So, I’m a meal plan fail…

Tessa December 3, 2018 at 11:37 AM

Jenn… I adored the Keatlyn Chronicles too! SOOO good and I was hooked, though I haven’t read the spin-off. They aren’t as intriguing as the original. Loved Paper Princess too. :)

1. I hate super evil villains, especially in books. I’m reading my Pick for Me book, Unknown by Wendy HIggins, and it made me SOOO angry last night I wanted to throw it, and I had troubles sleeping as a result. Worse, it’s book one! Gah, so of course, I’ll be finishing this one and wanting to read the next, but OMG, so wanting to kill the bad guys. All thousands of them, but especially two specifically.

2. I need to watch the new Sabrina series. It looks good, but I have to catch up on Riverdale. I haven’t watched season 3 yet. Yep, again, the only thing I’m keeping up with is The Challenge.

3. That KPop does look good, even if it weren’t reverse harem. I love rock and pop stars, and it’s rare to find a book that takes place in Korea.

Also, I did request the Cassandra Clare book. I’m 7th in line for the thing!

Tasha J December 3, 2018 at 11:38 AM

I’ve been attempting to watch It’s A Wonderful Life this morning for the first time, looks like I might really like it, but J won’t let me watch it. Lol

Leslie M December 3, 2018 at 2:15 PM

Michele, yay to Dumplin’! I loved it. Teenagers acting like teenagers… and such a good message about body image.

Ham is in Crock-Pot. Fingers crossed it comes out good. I want it tenderized, not dry and leathery.

It’s a Wonderful Life is so dark and depressing except the end that makes you bawl your eyes out. It’s perfect for all you “Marmies”. ;)

Amy December 3, 2018 at 3:14 PM

OMG our poor Nay!! Sending love and healing vibes her way.

Well, Tessa, guess what you just made me go and click?

MichelleS December 3, 2018 at 5:19 PM

Three things:

1) I finally put up my tree & decorations, half heartedly – and I used to make fun of my mom when she didn’t want to do it. What comes around….

2) I got a new puppy – fun for about an hour, and then the reality set in – crying, poop, pee – what was I thinking?

3) I have hardly watched season 4 of Outlander – if you’d have told me this years ago, I would have called you a crazy liar.

OMG – Nay! I am worried sick now.

Bev – way. to. go. – three books – we’ll take it –

Dumplin! loved that one

Jan December 3, 2018 at 5:32 PM

Poor Nay. Sending warm and supportive thoughts and some bubble wrap from Australia.

A kpop reverse harem? Okay then. I’m not sure what I think about that. LOL.

I’m going to try a sample of All Of Me. I like me a sexy attorney ;)

3 things:
1. I’m cooking vanilla and blueberry muffins this morning. Yum!
2. I’ve wrapped the presents but haven’t put the tree up yet. (Maryse, I feel you!) I got a pile of cute little doodads from Etsy like personalised keyrings for presents this year.
3. I’m reading Keeping 13 (it’s loonnggg) but I just got My Oxford Year and My Favourite Half Night Stand. Too many goodies are getting loaded up on my kindle all at once!

R. Renee December 3, 2018 at 6:16 PM

1. I “listened” to Roomies ALL NIGHT last night and I’m officially obsessed with Christina Lauren. At least the new stuff anyway.

2. We’re officially skipping Christmas this year. No tree, presents, nothing. It’s a lot of work for just the 2 of us and this has been such a trying year neither of us are feeling it. All set for NYE though!

3. After Dallas won Thursday, the hubs was so excited he bought my plane ticket to see LP in San Fran again! Woop!

Tessa December 3, 2018 at 7:55 PM

Yeah, Amy. Finished it too. I was up late last night, then got so upset I stopped, but then started again, and every break I read it. And now I have to buy the second book! The whole trilogy is out, so no waiting. It didn’t end on a CH but I seriously want to know what happens next.

Tessa December 3, 2018 at 7:55 PM

Oh, but I need fluff first. Get rid of the anger and all that.

Leslie M December 3, 2018 at 8:38 PM

MichelleS, I loved loved seasons 1 & 2 of Outlander. Season 3 (besides reunion) was a snoozefest and season 4 isn’t much better. :(

Leslie M December 3, 2018 at 8:41 PM

Robin, skipping Christmas sounds very relaxing.

bev December 3, 2018 at 8:49 PM

So then R you will have time to stop by our Elf party. Get some fudge, Christmas cocktails, Elf, and us.

R. Renee December 3, 2018 at 8:52 PM

LOL Leslie. If it weren’t for this little book thingy I’m trying to finish up, it would be awesome!!

I’ll be here! When is it again? The 26th? And thanks for the link! I’m always looking for cocktails to post in my group!

bev December 3, 2018 at 8:55 PM

Reading Duke of Shadows.

Oh my gosh my gaming show last night was so FUN. I wasnt sure if I’d like it but yeah. The game part is cool and the show has humor and suspense. Plus, think it’s going to play with some drama tropes.
And c’mon….he’s beautiful. I love dimples, lol.

bev December 3, 2018 at 8:58 PM

21st. Lol.

We have to pick a time.

R. Renee December 3, 2018 at 9:12 PM

I just heard from Nay. She broke her tibia and fibula and dislocated her knee. She had 2 surgeries today and has a 3rd one scheduled for Thursday.

Leslie M December 3, 2018 at 10:01 PM

Omg… that would explain why she told me it hurt like a mofo. I thought it was one break. That sounds serious. Two surgeries?? As if she hasn’t had enough health issues?

R. Renee December 3, 2018 at 10:01 PM

Two so far. A third one Thursday!

bev December 3, 2018 at 10:04 PM

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

That is going to be some serious bed rest.

I hate this for her when she was feeling so well.

Maryse December 4, 2018 at 11:20 AM

Hi Jenn!!

Just following up to see if Kohl’s fixed the blanket issue for you. I totally get the upset… it was such a great deal and you got in on it on time.
