<— RACHEL BLAUFELD’S LATEST BOOK, “Hot For His Girl“,Β Β just went live and I just love the sound of this one! Two bloggers (she’s a single, snarky mom blogger & he’s a sexy professor that has a food blog) fall in love. *squeeeee* Hey!! bloggers need love too!! *snort* π
“Reidβs blog, Grill and Groom, began on a dare. Now, he regularly shows his abs of steel while grilling.
He may love this gig more than his day job. She needs her page views and advertisers to support her daughter. Until the two meet and spin a web online and IRL .Β .Β . in real life.”
Weren’t we just talking about food-blogging in the comments recently? Yeah. We love our recipe sharing (and food-substitute discoveries), and I’m HOOKED on “chef/foodie” romance books. YAY US!!!
To celebrate this new release, Rachel is sponsoring this week’s newsletter, and she’s today’s guest blogger!!! Plus, she’s personally introducing her characters to us and she’s sharing two fun recipes for us that I’m dying to make:
Hey Maryse and readers β
Thanks for having me.
A few items to discussβ¦
I wrote a book with little to no angst!! I know, crazy, right? For me, definitely! Believe me, I love a good cry and an emotional nail biter too, but this book was so much fun to write!
In Hot For His Girl, Andi is a jaded, single mom blogger who enjoys anonymity. Reid is a stats professor turned shirtless food blogger! Gives a whole new meaning to his abs being on fireΒ —
Now, in my house, I usually do ALL the cooking! Even the grilling! But this past Motherβs Day, a friend of my husbandβs put a post on Facebook how he was making street tacos for dinner.
I thought to myself: I want street tacos! SO, my hubby got the recipe, and made them! They are now a staple in our house AND guess what? In Hot For His Girl, Reid makes street tacos! Now you know where that idea came from.
Iβm attaching the recipe for the tacos plus my quick and easy guacamole that I usually make to go along with them! Thatβs right, we tag team in the kitchen!
You can use either flank steak or skirt steak β we make around 1 & 1/2 – 2 pounds of meat (I have two sons who are both GROWING like crazy).
Mix the following:
- Β Β½ cup brown sugar
- Β½ cup sesame oil
- Β½ cup of soy sauce (I use low sodium)
- Β½ cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon of garlic
Spread over meat, cover, and let marinate all night
THEN, grill it and voila!
We toast some soft tortillas and grill diced peppers and onions to go with it.
RACHELβs quick guac!
- 2 avocados β mash in a bowl, set pits aside
- Add and mix in 4 tablespoons mild salsa
- IF you want creamier, add 2 tablespoons sour cream or Greek yogurt
- Hot sauce to the temperature you want
- MIX and place pits in the middle of guac in the bowl to keep it a nice green color until you serve!
I’m IN!!! I love the sound of this book, and I KNOW I’ll already love this taco recipe. I’m a taco/fajita addict, so this too, is right up my alley! AND AND!! For me and my demanding Keto ways, I have an appropriate substitute for the sugar in this recipe, so I can make it too!.
Maybe we should buddy-cook (and buddy-read) it together? π
