It is suddenly Sunday… and even though that means the week is about to start, there are early book-treats waiting in our midst! The first two right off the bat are vying for my next TBR read… but no. I can’t read two at once. I have to choose. And I’m still building my “to read right now” TBR list to post later today. AND! I’m still recovering from my gorgeous Eleanor & Park read thats very last sentence took my breath away. OH YES. But… I can’t resist adding to my enormous “main” TBR list with these.
- The OfferΒ by Karina Halle <— ONE OF MY FAVORITE AUTHORS IN THE WORLD ALERT!!! And this one’s about a single mom that is struggling big time… that is until “Her saving grace comes in the form of a tall, handsome and wealthy Scotsman Bram McGregor, the older brother of her friend Linden. Bram understands a thing or two about pride, so when tragic circumstances place Nicola at rock bottom, he offers them a place to live in the apartment complex he owns. Itβs pretty much the perfect deal, so as long as she doesnβt mind living beside Bram, a man that, despite his generosity, seems to antagonize her at every turn.“
The Song of DavidΒ by Amy Harmon <— AWESOME AUTHOR/CAGE-FIGHTER ALERT!! And he sees her… and there’s *something* about her that’s very different. “No one seemed to see her at all, except for the few who squeezed past her, tossing exasperated looks at her unsmiling face. When they realized she wasnβt normal, they hurried away. Why was it that no one saw her, yet she was the first thing I saw?” What does that mean?!! And our very own Kandace has this to say about it:
“I just finished The Song of David byΒ Amy Harmon. I can’t even put into words how much this book touched me. It’s one of the books that we are continuously searching for. Her words are beautiful and soulful. You never know where life will take you or what your future will be. But Amy showed us with the right mixture of friendship and love, you can fight the Giants!” and then she told ME: “The Song of David…. 10 stars. OMG. I’m still reeling. You’d love it. But you should read The Law of Moses to get the full effect.”
- Let Me Go (The Invisibles)Β by Michelle Lynn <— HE’S ARROGANT & WON’T GET CLOSE & SHE MOVES IN ALERT! “Then, just when the chains loosen around my heart, she walks into my lifeβor worse, the room next door. She strolls into my house with her bouncy brown curls and banging body, slithering herself through the smallest opening and making me crave the one thing Iβve denied myself these past years.“
- Only TonightΒ <— SHE’S A BARTENDER & HE’S A SOLDIER ALERT! “Faith Owens ran away from life two years ago, losing herself in easy living on a small private island. Preferring carefree days as a bartender to the stressful haunting of her past, Faith chooses a life of isolation. A night like every other, she expects tips but she finds the one thing she isn’t looking for–Kyle.”
- My Traitor (Nadia Wolf Character Novel)Β by Nicolette Pierce <— HE LOVED HER, SHE BETRAYED HIM ALERT! <— “…she was the only woman that he had ever loved.Β And she was a traitor.Β After an excruciating stint in enemy prison β thanks to her β and six years of guilt β thanks to her, again β Remy finally rid her from his system and was ready to move on. But Ava had other plans and hunted him down.
- Unlikely AlliesΒ by <— OMG I LOVE THE SOUND OF THIS ONE ALERT!!! “What happens when a single momβs four-year-old daughter falls in love with Mr. Right and she doesnβt?“
- VΓ©rité by Rachel Blaufeld <— ALSO JUST RELEASED NOW!!! “I was determined to hide behind my past indiscretions. That was, until I met Tiberius Jones. Never in my wildest dreams did I think Iβd learn the truth about love from a six-foot-five basketball player.“
- Every Breath You Take (Oasis Book 1)Β by Ivy Simone <— STALKER ALERT!!! “The ex-fiancΓ© she thought sheβd finally escaped from returns, and her safety is snatched away. Heβs determined to get her back at any cost…”
- Long Time Gone (Rough Riders)Β by Lorelei James <— SUPER-POPULAR STEEEEEAMY SERIES NEW RELEASE! “Calvin McKay can’t understand his twin brother’s rush toward the altarβuntil he lays eyes on the bride’s younger sister. But she’s far too innocent for him to pursue⦔
KingΒ by T.M. Frazier <—Β SHE’S HOMELESS & HE’S A PRISONER ALERT!Β <— This sounds awesome too. She’s homeless with no memory… and he’s just been released from prison. And this author made me LOVE her with her first book a year or two ago, and finally will be releasing another,Β tomorrow. I think THIS might be my next.
- Wool Omnibus Edition (Wool 1 – 5) (Silo series)Β by Hugh Howey <— POST APOCALYPTIC SERIES BUNDLE FOR SUPER-PRICE!! “The world outside has grown unkind, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they profess to want: They are allowed outside.” <— GAH!!!! What’s outside??!!
I just saw that the second book to King is only going to be 17 pages. I was so looking forward to reading this one, but I don’t think I can stand being left with a cliffhanger for only 17 pages. π
I bet the 17 pages is an epilogue? A follow up? Either that, or the correct # of pages hasn’t been entered in yet?
The Song of David was fantastic! I loved it!! Amy Harmon nevera disappoints me!
I’m so glad you can finally join us in our E&P love fog! π I loved Park’s mom, especially after how she reacted to seeing Eleanor and her family at the grocery store. I wanted to hug her when she talked to Park after that…and I wanted to hug Eleanor…and I wanted to hug Park…and I wanted pummel a few people in that book as well!
I read and liked Law of Moses by Amy Harmon, and I *loved* Infinity + One by her…I’m willing to bet Song of David is going to be GREAT!
…and apparently I missed that Jillian already confirmed the greatness of SoD up there. π
YES AMY!!! It was awesome and Park’s parents are the FREAKING BEST!!!!
LOL!!!
As for Amy Harmon’s latest… I’m dying to read it… along with too many others. Which do I choose?
“Which do I choose?” <—— Oh, now THAT is a loaded question, LOL!
Wait, unless you were asking which Amy Harmon to choose…*sigh* Fine then, I'll limit my answer to her books. Of the AHarmon books I've read, Law of Moses was good but Infinity + One was my favorite of the two. It had that Edge of Never feel to it ('cause of the road trip) but a bit more on the sweet/innocent side. It is *perfect* for after a heavy, angsty or heartbreaking read…ya know, when you need something lighter but still with some substance that you can sink your book teeth into. π
The Silo series above, Wool in particular, is a total mind scramble. You’ll find yourself yelling WTH in parts and silently screaming NO NO NO in others.
I love Karina Halle, so makes me want to read The Offer, but Let me Go and Unlikely Allies sound good too.
Did Amazon’s format change? Doesn’t look like you can click on the picture of the cover and read a sample any longer and the layout of the page is different.
Hey guys! I’m back! Lol I’ve missed you!!
I am feeling much better after surgery but I haven’t read anything in 10 days! *eeekk* Any amazing books I’ve missed out on? Any must reads?
Just got a email that Beat by Vi Keeland is live. The blurb sounds good- “I was stuck between a rock(star) and a hard place. Flynn Beckham was the opening act. Dylan Ryder was the headliner. What happens when the opening act begins to shine so bright, it seems to dim everything else in its wake? Iβll tell you what happens. Things get ugly.”
This may be my next read. π
Cheryl it sound SO awesome I wanna read it too… and that cover sure helps. π
Anne, glad you’re feeling better!! I LOVED Never Let You Go!
Anne, so glad to see you bouncing back. π
Anne, so glad you’re doing well!! π Maryse made a “peanut list” so you should check out that post…LOTS of good ones on that list!
Cheryl, a rockstar love triangle? That one sounds good! As for the Amazon format, I always use the Kindle store page and LOVE the format of it.
