EBOOK BARGAINS & READER RECOMMENDATIONS (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order).

  1. Kane’s Hell by Elizabeth Finn <— SOUNDS ANGSTY & TORMENTED ALERT!! Recent release and HIGHLY recommended by Kimmie!! “Hey Maryse. I finished Kane’s Hell a few days ago and can’t stop thinking about it. That thing was so good. Lots of OMG and WTH moments.” Yep… looks angsty! They were once best friends until something destroyed that. “Helene is smart, driven, and accomplished—her education and achievements a smoke screen hiding the frigid and fragile child wounded long ago. Kane is equally obsessed with his coping mechanisms—fighting … drinking … screwing … compulsively destroying himself one vice at a time.“
  2. PUCKED by Helena Hunting <— WE CAN’T STOP LAUGHING ALERT! Cheryl and crew (all of ’em! LOL!) LOVE it! Cheryl says: “…I LOVED Pucked too!  ;) I seriously was laughing out loud every few minutes!! The things that came out of Violet’s mouth-hysterical and that epilogue…OMG I was dying..the cape…I’m losing it again…” and Julie agrees: “I read Pucked as Twilight fanfiction and it is great – funny and sexy!”
  3. Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven <— SLOW BURN & MAKES AMY’S LEGS BOUNCE ALERT!! Amy is LOVING it. So is everyone else. 😀 She says: “Guys, I am about halfway through Bad Romeo and simply LOVING it! It’s going back and forth between the past and present (which I don’t mind when it’s done well like this is), and the anticipatory buildup to what happened before has me all anxious and bouncing my leg. And even the flashbacks for me have that slow burn We’ll see what happens with the last half, but if it continues this way then I *might* just have found me a 5 star! :D“
  4. The Hook Up (Game On Book 1) by Kristen Callihan <— SUPER-HIT ALERT! Cheryl is enjoying this one, too! “I’m at about 60% in The Friend Zone and the “shenanigans” are getting good!! I’m loving Gray and Ivy.”
  5. Kiss the Sky (Calloway Sisters) by Krista Ritchie & Becca Ritchie <— on SUPER-SALE! Lauren says: “Kiss the Sky was so awesome!” and Andrea agrees: “Kiss the Sky is fantastic, but it is not the first book in the series. The first one is Addicted to You, Ricochet, then Addicted for Now. They are all great, but they should be read in order.”
  6. Until the End of the World (Until the End of the World, Book 1) by Sarah Lyons Fleming <— AMY IS STILL SAD ALERT! I remember when Amy was freaking out over this series, and guess what… she still is. 😉 “Totally random musing here but I read the Until the End of the World series back in January and February, and I am still sad about stuff that happened in the second book even though the series ended well. STILL sad. WTH man?” LOL Amy… snuggle your manatee. 😉
  7. Surviving The Storm: Surviving Raine & Bastian’s Storm Boxed Set by Shay Savage <— MARYSE LOVES BASTIAN ALERT!! YES YES YES!!!! One of my favorite books in the world, bundled with it’s sequel that I still need to read for a ROCK BOTTOM price!! Elissa found it for us saying: “Maryse! I know a lot of folks here love Shay Savage. Just a heads up she has a boxed set of Surviving Raine and Bastian’s Storm on sale” and OMG it’s a MUST CLICK!! (Here’s my review of Surviving Raine) and Isabelle agrees: “OMG These books! THEY ARE SO SO SO good!!!!!! I couldn’t put them down. A box set for a buck! HOLY CRAP what a steal!“
  8. CARNAGE #2: The Story Of Me by Lesley Jones <— #1 BROKE MY HEART ALERT!!! Julie insists I must not stop at book #1 (’cause I did). LOL! Saying: “Carnage #1 is is called The Story of Us and Carnage #2 is called The Story of Me. I loved the series – don’t stop at Carnage #1! Carnage #2 is a 5 star although you won’t believe me at the end of the first book. You need to read it Maryse!” (my review of book #1 Carnage)
  9. Tears of Tess (Monsters in the Dark Book 1) by Pepper Winters <— DARK READ ALERT!! Jean recommends this DARK read: “Highly recommend Tears For Tess in that genre…. haven’t completed the series, but loved the 1st book!” and Ash agrees! “Want a book where you can totally feel inside her head and fall for the guy?? Tears of Tess. The best I’ve ever read in this genre. Have you reviewed that one?? I could hear Tess laughing at Grace inside my head at times. I still enjoyed this book a lot and loved the fact that there weren’t useless scenes. Everything in it served to either develop characters or move the story forward.  Plus, there weren’t tons of endless and unnecessary unrealistic sex scenes…“
  10. Thicker than Blood by Madeline Sheehan and Claire C. Riley <— One from a recent reader question, and so many guessed and LOVED it! Amy says: “Awesome book.”
  11. Lights To My Siren (The Heroes of The Dixie Wardens MC, Book 1) by Lani Lynn Vale <— LOOKING FOR MORE LIKE KA ALERT!! Kirsty LOVES it! “One of the best series ever. Read them over and over just like KA books” and Lisa agrees! “Totally love that someone else s this series as much as I do. And really enjoyed the new spin off too.“
  12. Man Candy by Jessica Intro <— BOOK COVER MODEL ALERT!! & ON SUPER-SALE!! “When Ben Harris agreed to fill in as a cover model at an author signing he wasn’t sure what to expect, but women throwing themselves at him, numbers being stuffed in his pocket, and covert attempts at getting into his hotel room definitely wasn’t it. On the other hand, there is the hottie assistant he can’t keep his eyes off…”
  13. Stripped Bare by Tabatha Vargo & Melissa Andrea <— HE’S A STRIPPER ALERT!! “The boy I used to be is long gone, and now I’m the Jack Hammer. Exotic dancer extraordinaire. The teaser and the pleaser. The paid for penis for play. I have to be these things to survive. It’s who I became when I lost her. But now she’s back, and I can’t decide who I want to be more.“
  14. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas <— READ IT IN ONE SITTING ALERT!! Ali LOVES it!! “***AND Maryse, I totally recommend Sarah Maas new book, A Court of Thorns and Roses (a very different take of Beauty and the Beast). She’s mostly a young adult author, but this book is more of New Adult than anything! Read this in one sitting!!!“

Reader Question – The book where the men were held captive and a kidnapped girl was bait…

By 9 Comments

Here’s reader question #2 with a $10 Amazon gift card giveaway for the first correct answer! Don’t forget… ALL are welcome to comment even if someone has already answered, ’cause:

1.) who knows if the answer is correct? You might have another guess… and it might be the right one (we’ll have the reader who asked the question pop in and let us know)

and

2.) Let us know if you’ve read it and what you thought. 🙂

I’m enjoying today’s questions ’cause both books seem to have dark-thriller edge to ’em (with a chance of romance?). 😉 I like the look of this one, too. But I have no clue. Maybe you do?

Terri asks:

Hi! I’m a fan of your blog and read tons of the books you recommend on your site.

Recently I was trying to remember a book I read and it was about these men that were kept captive, experimented on, and were only know as numbers.  There was a girl that was kidnapped and laid out in a forest as bait for one of them that had escaped. I believe he’s part wolf, if this rings a bell to anyone, please let me know!

Anyone?

Thank YOU GUYS!! I bet the answer is in here, and I’m pre-guessing that “Fury” is the one since most of you guessed the actual series, but since Terri asked for the actual book title, I’m thinking “enem” is correct!

However, now to contact Terri to see if she’s right. 😀 Which one, Terri?

Reader Question – The book about the girls that break out of jail after the zombie apocalypse…

By 9 Comments

This one sounds PRETTY DARNED AWESOME. And crazy. I had to do some creative editing due to the amount of detail she provided, but I think, if you like the crazy apocalypse books and haven’t read it, this might be just what you’re looking for. 🙂

Amanda asks:

Hello! Just wondering if you could help me out, trying to remember the name of a book or even just the author.

The book is after the zombie apocalypse, there was 2 best friends living in this town and one of the friends killed her husband because he was abusive. After breaking her out of jail her friend and *spoiler*. After walking through the woods for days they find someone (or someone finds them – I cant remember) and takes them to another “town”. In this town the *spoiler*. At the end of the book *spoiler*.

That’s all I remember, but I know there was a second book in the series coming out, and I can’t for the life of me remember who it was by.

Thank you

Sounds good right? Even with all of the “spoiler censors” LOL!! 😛

So… anyone know? YEP!!!! I think we found it ’cause the answers appear to be unanimous! Amanda… are they right? Was it: Thicker than Blood?

Rebekah Weatherspoon – Fit Trilogy Reading Order

By Leave a Comment

This “now complete” series was brought to my attention by Tecora upon release of it’s 3rd and final book, and I must say… it sounds GREAT!

Tecora: Sated (the final book in the Fit trilogy) was released today as well… It’s by Rebekah Weatherspoon and the first two were pretty epic. Fit (the first book in the trilogy) just won the Romance Times award for Erotic Romance Novella. Check them out!

It’s about a cooking channel enthusiast that is enjoying too much of what she’s cooking (tee hee!! Sounds like me these days… 😉 ) and now she’s wanting to get in shape, so she hires a trainer… but I don’t think she realizes, he’s also a Dom. *rubs hands together* sounds like it could be fun!!

About book #1:

Violet Ryan loves the delicious food she gets to eat on the reality shows she produces for The Food Channel. What she hates is her expanding waistline. Determined to drop the pounds, Violet hatches a plan to kick start a fitness regimen. But when her determination isn’t enough to get her through even one intense group class without breaking down into tears, she knows she needs a new approach and possibly a new trainer—one with a lighter touch.

Grant Gibson has always managed to mix business with pleasure, but now this trainer by day, and Dominant by night, is bored. Bored and lonely. Even though he owns one of L.A.’s hottest private gyms, his personal life is sorely lacking. After his last submissive tried to kidnap his dog and the contents of his bank account, he’s in no hurry to take a new lover under his wing. Not until the voluptuous Violet falls into his lap.

She may be wary of his unorthodox approach of using sexual gratification as a reward, but even before her initial weigh-in Violet can’t seem to stay away from the sexy fitness god. She may have to let Grant show her there’s more than one way to get in shape…

Emma Chase – The Legal Briefs Series Reading Order

By 1 Comment

So many of us are HUGE fans of this author’s hilarious “Tangled series“, and she’s just released book #1 of a new and funny sounding romance series. 😉

Michelle: Emma Chase has a way of capturing the voice and spirit of her characters so that you connect with each one, no matter who is offering the narrative. She finds a combination of humor, sexiness, and emotional connection that makes these characters feel so real and makes you want to hug them, f*** them, throttle them, and then hug them again.

Julie O: I absolutely love her writing and she is hilarious. Don’t know where she comes up with some of that stuff. Her take on what men think and say is so spot on.

Agreed! She’s wonderful!! And the blurb of this new one is already making me giggle. It starts the series off with him asking his best friend to help him get the love of his life back (and SHE’S marrying someone else). But of course his best friend, well… she’s got quite a crush on him, too.

About book #1:

A Washington, DC, defense attorney, Stanton Shaw keeps his head cool, his questions sharp, and his arguments irrefutable. They don’t call him the Jury Charmer for nothing—with his southern drawl, disarming smile, and captivating green eyes, he’s a hard man to say no to. Men want to be him, and women want to be thoroughly cross examined by him.

Stanton’s a man with a plan. And for a while, life was going according to that plan.

Until the day he receives an invitation to the wedding of his high school sweetheart, the mother of his beloved ten-year-old daughter. Jenny is getting married—to someone who isn’t him.

That’s definitely not part of the plan.

***

Sofia Santos is a city-raised, no-nonsense litigator who plans to become the most revered criminal defense attorney in the country. She doesn’t have time for relationships or distractions.

But when Stanton, her “friend with mind-blowing benefits,” begs her for help, she finds herself out of her element, out of her depth, and obviously out of her mind. Because she agrees to go with him to The-Middle-Of-Nowhere, Mississippi, to do all she can to help Stanton win back the woman he loves. Her head tells her she’s crazy…and her heart says something else entirely.

What happens when you mix a one-stop-light town, two professional arguers, a homecoming queen, four big brothers, some Jimmy Dean sausage, and a gun-toting Nana?
