Leah needs our helps again!! And I love the intro to her question because she describes a very common dilemma amongst us hardcore readers. 😉 SO TRUE.
She asks:
Hi Maryse!
Ya know when you start a really good book but then…oh! One of your favorite authors just released a new book and you HAVE to read it RIGHT NOW.
By the time you are done you’ve forgotten about the one you were reading. Months go by and suddenly you have nothing to read! (My mom always has made fun of me when I say that. She says its like when other people say they have nothing to wear but have exploding closets).
And since I have so many kindle books and I can’t even remember the author of the book I was reading….
Well, here is what I do remember:
It begins with a woman in a hospital room. Her husband is dying. Of cancer, I think. I mean, he has one foot out the door already. He tells her he doesn’t want to watch him die, so he sends her aways and makes her promise not to come back. I think the husband was a Dr or something before he got sick. But that could be something from another book blending into the memory of this one…
So then it cuts to a few years later. She is walking along the street in DC…
*spoiler alert*
*spoiler alert*
*spoiler alert*
*spoiler alert*…and she runs into her husband. From what I gathered from the bit I read, something happened that kept them apart after he didn’t die that day. I can only guess.
Can you help a girl out? Thank you!
-Leah
btw: thanks for helping with the title to that other book. You didn’t just help with that one, it was the whole series.
Ooooomph!!! This sounds awesome! I must know, too.
Anyone have a guess?
Donna: Not sure but I would LOVE to read this!
Anco18: Cruel & Beautiful (A Cruel and Beautiful Book Book 1) by A.M. Hargrove?
Leah: Woooo! Thank you! You guys are so awesome. You got it in one. -Leah
Shara: It’s Cruel & Beautiful by am Hargrove. The book has a twist. I finished it not to long ago. Good read.
Leah: Good to know Shara! Its been so long, I was wavering on beginning it again. I started to doubt whether the part I’d read was really as good as I remember or maybe I’m having a memory bias and need to take of my rose-coloured glasses. Now I can read it without those doubts
Maryse: YAYYYY!! YES!! How could I forget? I read it a few years ago and LOVED IT!!!!!
