By Leave a Comment

Away (The Keaton Series Book 1) by B.A. Wolfe <— BLAST FROM OUR BOOK PAST!!! And I’m thinking, probably another one not to just by its book cover, ya know? There was a time that I specifically KNEW the best stories were behind some of the more “indie-looking” covers. And if we go by these recommendations, this one will rock your world!

Trisha recommended this one, way back when!! And then the recommendations just kept coming. It’s listed two of my most favorites lists on my blog (and two things that really HOOK me in a book): read more

The Lottery and Other Stories (FSG Classics) by Shirley Jackson <— ONE-CLICK SALE ALERT!!! Oooooh “The Lottery” is on sale right now & I just one-clicked it SO HARD. I no longer have my paperback copy and that story was jaw-dropping. An unforgettable favorite!!

I even asked our Facebook crew a few years ago:

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE, eerie, short story… one that you always think about? Like mine would be “The Lottery” (I LOVED that crazy, creepy, “HOLY MOLY what did I just read?!” story) read more

Julianne (from our Facebook crew) needs our book help! GAHHHHHH!!! I am having a love/hate moment with this question ’cause I read the spoiler (HOLY MOLY WHAT A TWIST!!) and I hate knowing what happens BUT… it also makes me want to read this book SO bad.

She asks:

Hi Maryse!

I am DESPERATELY trying to find this title and author!

The book where a nurse working the emergency department and a cop/paramedic/firefighter drops by with a patient in tow. He flirts with her, I think, but she brushes it off. read more

PAM GODWIN FANS (& everyone else of this genre), REJOICE!!!

<— NEW TRILOGY, BOOK #1 IS HUGELY LOVED, BOOK #2 is on preorder & will be out in a few weeks!

Mona: I finished Hills of Shivers and Shadows by Pam Godwin yesterday. It is so good! I wasn’t going to read it yet because I prefer to wait for all books in a series to be out first (this is the first in a trilogy), but after I read the look inside section, I had to keep going. I literally fell asleep with my kindle in my hand, I couldn’t stop! If you have triggers, you need to read the warnings first. I can’t wait until next month when book two comes out! read more

Book Review – Pen Pal by J.T. Geissinger

Pen Pal <— Okay so right off the bat, this (below) happened to me, and it was physical proof that I was LOVING (LOVED!!!) this book. I announced it to the world… er, well… the Facebook. 😉

One of my all time favorite authors in the whole world and why? ‘Cause she keeps on surprising me and there’s nothing better than thinking a story is going one way, and being twisted into a totally different direction. Something… maybe even better, or worse, but just as addicting! So. Much. Excitement. read more
