Elise needs our book help and she’s sent us plenty of info to work with, but no spoilers in it, ’cause she only read the first chapter and wants to find it again. 🙂
So sometime in the last few months I know I read the first chapter (I think it was a prologue set 8 years in the past but that could be wrong) of a book but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was. I generally remember the following:
Guy and girl were childhood friends;
Guy became fit/attractive sometime in late adolenscence or early adulthood;
Guy became colder/less emotional as he became more attractive;
Believe they were prom dates and lost their virginity to one another;
I think they were both in culinary school;
Girl winds up going on a date with someone else (I think from the culinary program) and when they go back to his place he can’t get it up and winds up telling her she’d basically be pretty if she lost 30 lbs, but she also wasn’t into this guy either;
She winds up going from the “someone else” guy’s apartment over to the main Guy’s place and he makes her feel better, tells her she’s perfect as she is, and they have sex,
Girl and Guy then I think have continued to have periodic casual sex but she’s been growing more attached;
The prologue basically has Guy coming over to Girl’s place, them hooking up, her thinking about how different he is than he used to be and giving brief internal dialogue that provides the above information. Then, as she’s getting dressed again she winds up I think telling him she loves him and he brings up the “someone else” guy by referencing (I think) how no other guy has given her an orgasm/had sex with her, which seriously hurts her. She says she’s done and I believe kicks him out. Think that was the end of the prologue.
I wanted to read this one a lot, and I could’ve sworn I saved it to Goodreads or had downloaded a sample but I cannot find it now.
Please let me know if you have any idea what I’m talking about!!!
This one sounds so good!! Anyone have a guess?
Millie: Maybe it’s one book of the “Fusion” series by Kristen Proby. There are 5 and they all take place in the culinary environment. Unfortunately I didn’t read any of those 🙁
Elise: While some of those sound like good reads, unfortunately not the one I’m looking for. But thank you so much!
Maryse: We’ll keep looking!! 😀
