Sonny is looking for this book! Yep!!! I think I’ve read this one and it’s pretty great (one of my FAVORITE authors). Okay let me check my book reviews (I read it back in 2012 or 2013?)
Okay I found it, and I posted my guess below but I’m pretty it’s the right one. 😀
She asks:
Hi Maryse!
So I just read “A Pound of Flesh” by Sophie Jackson this is my second time reading it and reminded me of a book I read a while back that is similar. I just can’t remember the name of the book.
All I know is that it’s a love sorry between a prisoner and a woman that works in the prison. I can’t remember if she’s a teacher there, but he secretly passes her a letter. She reads it and decided to write him a letter back. He gets upset about her writing him a letter back since it can get her in trouble. So they decide to come up with a code to how to communicate with each other.
So depending on a color she’s wearing when she holds her class it’s her agreeing to something he wrote in a letter or it can mean for him to stay behind to talk to her.
He ends up getting out of prison which freaks her out a bit. They end up seeing each other outside the prison and they form a relationship.
She meets his sister who has a son.
And that’s all I can remember from the book. 😭 please please let me know if you know what book I’m talking about. I want to read it again.
Thank you so much!
Sonny
Anyone have a guess?
Maryse: Could it be this one? Prisoner and letters to his teacher/prison librarian…
