Now, this book’s an old one. I read back in the early-mid 2000s I believe it was the first book my mum told me to read as a kid and started my book addiction.
It’s a dual perspective book between mum and daughter. Mum is dealing with empty nest syndrome after daughter goes to university, gets a job in a bar I think and meets and falls for the grumpy owner.
The daughter dates one of her roommates but finds he’s not as honest as she believes (he wants to keep her a secret because he can’t keep it in his pants)
Also, one scene I remember is the grumpy owner takes in a stray cat who has kittens in his bed whilst he has the mum over for a date.
Might be a tough one to find
