Kelly needs our book help! Kelly is usually our resident question guesser so I’m thrilled we can help her with one (hopefully!!) *fingers crossed*
She asks:
Hi there,
I have a book I’m looking for from a few years ago…
Here are the details about book 1:
I think I might have read it around 2015-16 and I know I loved it, in fact I feel like it might have been on my best of list the year I read it. (So sad that I don’t have all of these books listed)
My recollection is foggy but I think the h is a social worker and the H has younger siblings. She is assigned to their case and it is maybe her first case on her own so she wants to remain impartial. She gets involved with the H and there are complications with the kids and maybe someone from her past?
It was a long book and I feel like the author’s name might be initial(s) J something and a slightly longer last name. It isn’t JT Geissinger or JR Rogue.
I remember sending you a recommendation about it and was super thrilled when our dearly departed friend Kandace loved it too.
I know it isn’t much to go on but our group has found books with less details so…
Anyone have a guess?
Cheryl: Is it Driven by K Bromberg?
Kelly: Nope. Although that book was good
Fiona: Hi it is True Blu by Melissa Foster where the H Truman Gritt spends time in prison for a crime he did not commit; when he gets out he realises his mother who is a coke head abandoned his young siblings that he knew nothing about and his brother who is also younger is trying to mange; the H is a social worker Gemma and its her first job and just qualified so she is trying to help but Truman is suspicious of her etc but they start to spend time together etc. This book is a stand alone in the The Whiskeys Dark Knights series which is a great series on its own.Β A great read
Carrie: I donβt think Gemma was a social worker, was she? she helps him out in the store & then the relationship blooms from there. One of my favorite books / series! Highly recommend it to everyone! Time for a reread! π
Shaunygirl: I read a book called Angel of Redemption by J.A. Little. It was long and the h was a social worker trying to place boys in a group home. I donβt remember any other details. I know I really enjoyed it. Just throwing it out there.
Kelly: Thatβs it! Thanks so much. I was a bit off with some of my details but itβs a match.
Carrie: Oh, I need to look this one up!! π
Maryse: YAY!!! Another one solved, with some great guesses!!! Thanks everyone, and Shaunygirl!! π
