Reader Question – The book about the step-brother that becomes her guardian and tortures her…

Paula needs our book help! OMG this sounds so dark and painful!!! I can’t even imagine… I NEED to know this one too!

She asks:

Please help look for this book – I have been searching for hours a day on my time off and cannot find it.

It was an arranged marriage – for when she comes of age or when the hero was older – the heroines father dies and her step-brother becomes her guardian.

He is horrible and tortures her – makes her beg for food – and when she does he cuts her arms to horrible scars. Also makes her have sex (but will not let his associates or friends take her virginity – just everything else)

The fiancee finally comes to claim his soon to be bride – thinks she is a wealthy snob and skinny because she ‘wants’ to be…..

I have been trying to find this book….please help!

There is another scene in the book:

bc the heroine always wears long sleeves but her husband does not connect the dots that she is hiding any scars until he makes her wear a new dress bc he is sick of seeing her in unflattering clothes – the dress is sleeveless and she walks down the stairs into a party with everyone gasping as all her scars are showing –

he at first thinks she self-harms…..

The Hero – does not care about his bride. The Hero makes the heroine put on a sleeveless dress for a party (not knowing she has scars all over her arms) – and she walks down the stairs of the party trying not to cry as everyone gasps – The hero then will not let her leave the party and makes her walk around with him – holding her head high…..it is at this point the Hero starts to champion the heroine. It is heartbreaking – then he makes her tell him who did this to her…and she shares for every scar on her arm it was when she gave in when she had not eaten for days and days and gave in and asked for food….her brother would only allow the housekeeper to give her food once she agreed to let him slash her arm.

The Heroine – hoards food because she is afraid and never knows if someone might lock her in her room and not give her food again- and hides her scars on her arms from everyone – she always wears long sleeves. It is her upper arms – straight down gashes……

This book is good because the hero who is wealthy and powerful ends up getting retribution for his wife……

It was hard to read but also full of angst – and made me cry – but in the end……I loved him and her together.

Stevie: Yes! I know I have read it before on my kindle but for the life of me can’t remember the name to help.

Debbie: I was just wondering if it was one of those book sites like WattPad etc but if you read it on Kindle then no …..I’m normally good at finding books like that but even I’m coming up with a blank….sounds really good wouldn’t mind reading it myself

Debbie: Is it a Mafia themed book or non mafia themed???….it’s really bugging me now because I feel like I definitely know this book. But i think maybe it could be from one of the ongoing online book sites like WattPad or AnyStories etc ??
