Tee hee!! YES. *nods emphatically* YOU (and I) KNOW THIS ONE!!
Christine has a reader question and I’m thrilled to say she’s come to the right place for this book-quest!!!!! It’s one of our original indie “old-school” forbiddeny favorites and I’m so jealous of anyone that hasn’t read it yet, and gets to experience it for the first time.
Our book community gets brand new members every day, so I don’t feel so bad spouting my older 5-star favorites regularly ’cause they are brand new treasures to them!
In this case, it seems Christine HAS read it (mentioning sad and funny), but she’s obviously looking to re-read it or recommend it (and I don’t blame her).
She asks:
Looking for the book.
I think called Slammed. Or Slam.
A teacher moves in next door falls for younger neighbor,
*spoiler alert*
*spoiler alert*
*spoiler alert*
*spoiler alert*…her mother dies . She writes poetry.
It’s great and sad and funny.
Do you remember the author because I can’t find it searching by title?
YES!!! YAY!!!! This is one of my forever favorites, and it’s called Slammed: A Novel by Colleen Hoover, and it was the very first book I even read with this awesome, forbiddeny theme, and it was so pure and rich and perfect (and angsty!!!).
In fact, here’s my 5-star book review (showing the original cover and everything).
Leslie M: Slammed!! Aaaah, I loved this one. Remember the old school new adult gems? Thoughtless, Easy, Beautiful Disaster…
Christine: Yes, that’s it!
Maryse: YAY!!! Another one solved!! 😀
