Maqxy is looking for this one! It’s spoilery so I’ll spoiler-alert throughout but I think I read this one!! My version of it was sort of a psych-thriller, and one of the details doesn’t quite match up with my guess, but close. And also, the one I read was released in the last year or so…
She asks:
Hello Maryse!
I feel as though I’ve known you forever… 🙂 I’ve been following you for almost 10 years…. 🙂
I dunno whether this is the right way to get my question out to your community but I’m trying to remember a book I read ages ago.
It’s about a woman who lost her husband in an accident only to discover

that he has another family, a mistress and a son.
She felt very betrayed when she discovered that his best friend also knew about them.

But she and his best friend go on to fall in love.
Could you help me out please.
Thank you
Anyone have a guess? Let’s make a list. I LOVE this trope!! 😀
Maryse: Here’s my guess Trespassing: A Novel by Brandi Reeds <— (and while I doubt this is the one due to a few discrepancies, if you like this kind of story, then the one I’m mentioning fits the genre!!). 😀
Kathy: Could it be Natasha Madison’s Broken Love Story (Love Story Series)? Her husband dies in an accident and finds out he was married (he doesn’t have a son). She falls in love with the brother of the other wife. Some differences but thought I would throw it out there.
Maqxy: I’m afraid it’s not…. 🙁 It was certainly the dead husband’s best friend that she fell in love with. But I think I’ll check this series out. Sound interesting! Thank you!
Leslie: Sounds like Regretting You by Colleen Hoover but that’s a relatively new book.
Maryse: OH YEAH!!! That’s right!!!!
Maxqxy: Not that either…. 🙁 but I’m getting fantastic books from all this! =) Thanks so much!
Diana: I think I read this book… hmmmm….
Jennifer: I was going through the unsolved questions and this stuck with me so much I went on a frantic search. At first, I thought
- Running on Empty by L.B. Simmons-but no. Then I came across
- Moving Forward (Timing is Everything #1) by Erika Ashby. The prologue is from the dead husbands POV and suggests he’s betrayed his family….then he dies in a car accident. She meets someone (just not sure about the best friend thing) but they are all sort of connected. Lady shows up-Surprise Baby Mama and the h’s friend comes back to town and he knew about the cheating. Worth a look to see if this is it.
