Reader Question – The book about the woman who escapes her abusive husband, covered in blood…

Nicole is looking for this book! And YESSS I LOVED THIS ONE SO MUCH!!! In fact, Nicole figured out what book it was, and answered her very own question, but I thought I’d post it in case someone here wants to read it. It is FANTASTIC!

She asks:

Hi Maryse,

I’m still trying to find that book! It’s really bothering me because I’m dying to know what happens.

It’s about a woman who drives away from her abusive husband(?) with her friend(?). She’s covered in blood. They stop at a bar in the middle of nowhere and eventually start working there.

Bartender likes the friend while another guy who frequents the bar and knows the bartender likes the main woman. (?)=I’m not 100% sure about this detail
