Reader Question – The book where he believes she killed his sister in a car crash, and he hates her and marries her to take revenge on her…

Malak is looking for this one, and it seems a few others are looking for it too (per a past reader question that sounds almost identical – this one: Reader Question – The revenge book about the Hero that marries her to trap her because he thinks her brother killed his sister…)

Oh wait… I *think* I know this one, and it’s a book I LOVED like crazy. But some details aren’t quite right, so I might be wrong.

So let’s try again. 🙂

She asks:

I can’t find a book.

I have a book that the hero hates the heroine because he thinks she killed his sister in the car crash. So he marries her for revenge and abuses her.

The heroine is also depressed because the man she loves hates (which is the hero) her and her best friend is dead (which is the hero’s sister).

In the book the hero and the heroine get into a fight and he tells her he wished if she was dead.

Maryse: My guess is Changing Course (Wrecked and Ruined) by Aly Martinez (and if I can remember right, some of what is mentioned happens in book #2, or maybe even #3). Or maybe all of it in book #1. I just know this book and series hooked me HARD! Things that don’t match? They were a couple, but I’m not sure they were actually married. I can’t remember. Also, SHE is the one that was hateful and abusive, and he was trying so hard, so yeah, I might be completely wrong. P.S. Here’s my review.

Ivy: Oh my goodness, I feel like I’ve read this a few times with different books. Could it be A Vow of Hate by Lylah James?

Ivy: Maryse! I thought of the other book I read with a similar premise… Her Reluctant Husband by Erica Marselas. There’s definitely more going on in this book than just the sister getting killed.
