Terri is looking for this book for her mom. Now… I’m confused about the part (and the questioning) of how her bedroom door locks (as I’m thinking all of them do lock this way) however this book sounds CRAZY!!!
She asks:
I’m receiving this description second hand from my Momma, who is desperate for the title/author/both:
Heroine is trapped in strange marriage.
Husband is son of political higher up. Husband & Father-in-law want to “share” heroine, so she sleeps with bedroom door locked from inside.
Heroine meets Hero at function (?) & he is instantly smitten, but since heroine is married he views her as unattainable. Hero gives Heroine business card to use if she ever needs him.

Fast forward (?) Heroine’s husband plays Russian roulette & accidentally shoots & kills himself. Heroine is being detained, & hero learns of this second hand from his associate.
Although Hero is engaged, he is not in love with fiancé & breaks engagement immediately to help heroine. When removing Heroine’s things from the home, wonders why bedroom doors lock from inside…..?
That’s all I have & am hopeful someone will have the answer – thank you!!
Anyone have a guess?
