Shay needs our book help! Oh boy, this sounds like quite the family saga. But I like the spoiler part below (just skip when you see the spoiler alerts if you want to read it too, and go in “blind”).

I’ve been trying to find this books for days now. I’ve read it like last year or before, but can’t remember the name.
It’s about two families that’s carrying on a tradition/ ritual of auctioning..? selling their virgin daughters when they turn 18 to the other family, and the eldest of boy in the family chose one of them. This is like a few year time period arrangement.
She has a aunt / grandma..? I can’t remember who it was, who survived her years and lives upstairs. It was known story that she cut off heir master’s finger off. (the guy’s father/grandfather). I can remember the girls had to stand on a stage wearing dirty rags covered in blood.

Later the girl finds that the girls’ family have been cursed by the guy’s family ancestor of them bearing only girls and surrending to them. I hope this is a bit clear.
I hope I can find this book. It might seem very alarming but the plot of the story was really good. And I’m trying to find it to reread it 😢
