I bet this one is all sorts of angsty (for many obvious reasons), and while I’ve read a few “love after loss” books where the Hero is grieving and at first resists the heroine, I don’t think I’ve read this one. And now I’m dying o know so I can add it to two of our lists here!! Love After Loss and Unrequited Love.

Heroine was in love with the hero but he had a girlfriend/or was engaged. Hero’s gf dies.
Hero and heroine start sleeping together on the boat (that hero owns or lives in?). Hero doesn’t want to be seen with her in public since they live in a small town.
At one point, he is drunk and they have rough sex (heroine is sober).
