Another “guess the book” reader question, and this time, we’re helping Nikki.
This is another that I brought to our Facebook crew, and we’re still in limbo, so maybe someone here knows? I know I’ve certainly got a new one on my TBR list from the suggestions below. π At least that. But maybe we can guess some more?
It sounds like one I read… but not quite the same details:
Nikki: I can only remember a small part, possibly inaccurate frown emoticon Girl is rushing across the street with a coffee and almost gets run over and spills it on her white shirt. The guy in the car has his driver pick her up a new shirt. I think he may be a teacher or owns his own company. He has her meet him or he takes her to his office to give it to her. That’s about all I’ve got . Help?? Thanks π
Maryse: Nikki… this makes me think of one where she’s going to a job interview and she’s standing on the side of the road and she gets splashed by a puddle… and the boss ends up being the one that did that to her. He picks her up and drives her to his office so she can get cleaned up… Let me see… I’ll post it and see what we come up with. π
Anyone have a guess?
Krista: There’sΒ Conversion by S.C. Stephens. She is rushing across the street and spills coffee on him. Later we learn he is a vampire.
Tonia: Sounds like a A Decision of TrustΒ by Laurean Brooks
Gabby: Following
THIS IS THE BOOK —> Kim: The beginning of Break Me Slowly (The Shattered Series Book 1)Β by Joya Ryan has that situation too
Andrea: Would you recommend Break Me Slowly? Thanks:)
Kim: For me, it was an OK read, not great but not horrible either
Mbk: I read this! He tracks her down and send her a shirt. I think she is a grad student ….
Rita: I read this too, let me think!
Nancy: Pure AbandonΒ starts out with a similar situation….
Maryse: I think it’s Pure Abandon too. That’s the one I was referring to up there. π
Nancy: Well, it is a good book!
Rebecca: That’s the one I was thinking too.
Sarah: Following…sounds like a good book!
Jennifer: I am pretty sure it is the book by Joya Ryan
Jovanna: Whatever book it is, I want to read it. We need Nikki to confirm which one it is when she finds out. Or, I can just add all of these to my reading list. Win-win
Jamie-Lee : Breathing Black (The Black and White Duet Book 1)Β by Piper Payne?
Maryse: Ooooooooooh that one sounds gooooooood!
Cindy: This sounds like Conversion by SC Stephens
Tracie: Did she keep the shirt after? He wouldn’t take it back or something? I read a book like this and I can’t remember the title but it’s none of the ones listed above
Amy: Sounds like Pure Abandon, although I canβt remember if she spilled coffee on herself or if she got soaked when a car hit a puddle right next to herβ¦
Diana: Wait. I think I read a book with this meet-cute. But I think she gets talked into being an escort. Does that sound familiar?
Tessa: I know this is an odd question, but was it a coffee shop where she walked to and it was raining on the way back?
Amber: Hi Maryse! Is it the first part of the Temptation series by K.M Golland? She buys a coffee at the shop in her new building and immediately turns around and pours it all over her new boss (owner of the company). He does get her new clothes afterward. Hope this helps!
Spandana: Sounds like Double Standards by Judith McNaught. Beautiful book!
Kristina: The beginning kinda sounds like this novella to me but Iβm sure thatβs not what you were thinking of because I never guess these correctly π (Once Upon a Night at Sea (Princess Cruises Presents: Kindle Love Stories) by Barbara Longley)
DG: I know I have read this book! OMG β this is going to drive me nuts! Sounds like itβs time to roam through my kindle booksβ¦.*adds a new collection to her kindle called βBoss Meβ*
DG: Alright β¦the book I was thinking of is Chasing Happy by Rylie Roberts. But she doesnβt spill coffeeβ¦itβs raining and she falls in front of his car. And it just happens she was starting a job in the same office buildingβ¦.
Flo: The book in question I believe is Break Me Slowly by Joya Ryan. Sheβs in grad school and on her way to teach as a TA when she was crossing the street and almost got hit by oncoming car spilling coffee on her white shirt. He later sends her a replacement shirt.
Tessa: You know, at the end of all this, we can conclude a LOT of books start off with spilling coffee on someone and getting a ride by that guy after. π
Dani: I think this may be Chasing Happy.
Nicki: OH I think I know this one!!! I think this is the Forever Black by Sandi Lynn. The girl is a grad student (teacher) and he owns his own business. Itβs a trilogy.
Bo: It also sounds a little like that new book Verity by Colleen Hoover
Nikki: You’reΒ awesome!Β It was the one Kim mentioned, Break Me Slowly (The Shattered Series Book 1) by Joya Ryan. Yay!!! That was definitely enoughΒ toΒ driveΒ someoneΒ crazy ! ! ThanksΒ for helpingΒ meΒ figureΒ itΒ outΒ π
Maryse: YAY!!! Another one solved!!! π And tons of books on this list for us to try. π

Which sounds a bit like Pure Abandon. I guess making a mess of oneself is a fun way to meet someone new. π
Hi!!! I lost the thread that I was following about looking for the name of the book that they have a fling and she gets pregnant. I know it went on FB for a while, some authors were posting as well. Was a conclusion ever reached? What’s the name of the book?
Hi Bridget!
Well there are a few “pregnant book flings” that have been asked about. π LOL! Here is the list of all of the reader questions. Let us know if you find it in there, and if you do, and it still hasn’t been answered, I’ll bring it back to the forefront so we can try again (let me know):

Someone, please help me solve a mystery book title for me. All I remember is that a guy who accidentally spilled coffee on a girl offers her to take her to his place and change, but she refuses, but he insists on inviting her to his mom’s house for dinner later that night. When she comes over, she sees that the person she has been in love with is related to the person who spilled coffee on her. The book might have been written by C.M. Steele, Alexa Riley, or maybe some other author.
Hi Zuzu!
I just posted your reader question. Keep an eye on it and let me know if you see the right guess:
