Maxima needs our book help! This one sounds SO sweet. I’d say a tutor/friends-to-lovers thing going on here. It almost seems like something like Elle Kennedy’s “Off Campus” series that I loved so much and need to catch up on the latest ones…
She asks:
Hi
Looking for a book where the hero and heroine are in law school and the heroine loses part of her grant or scholarship for school so gets a job working for her professor to help his son focus more.
The son has been trying to date the heroine for a while but she resists bc she sees him as a player and she is too focused on school.
Random other details. She dresses like superwoman for Halloween and he shows up in a captain America shirt then the superheroes Becomes their thing – he uses a superhero keychain at the end of the book for ending.
Thanks
UPDATE (more details): Thanks all. More details. She loses her scholarship or grant for school and needs work so she ends up interviewing at a strip club where someone she knows from her dad runs the place. The professor who is the guys father hired her to work with his son to get him to focus more but it is a secret from his son. Spoiler – they end up getting engaged at the end of the story. Thanks
I seem to recall his name being Cameron maybe He was supposed to help her move and he was a no show and it was bc his mother was a drunk driver and she ends up working at a law firm with an internship and the case was involving his mother’s victim …
Anyone have a guess?
Liz: It sounds a bit like Undecided by Juliana Keyes.
Maryse: I LOVED that one!!!! But I don’t remember that scene, but I need to backtrack on my review.
Lindsay: Agh… I know I’ve read this one. He’s an architect I think and at the beginning he’s dressed as Captain America and tries to breakup a fight, but gets punched in the face. It’s based in NYC and he takes her to the rooftop of the bar they’re in? Am I on the right track?
Jody: Something you said triggered a vague memory. Going through my goodreads account. The Nerd Next Door by Sylvie Stewart (it mentions superhero in the blurb, I have no memory of this book) I feel like there’s another book somewhere in my list but that’s the only one I can find at the moment. I’m as far back as my 2018 books. I don’t think that’s the book I have a vague memory of.
Elle: I think it’s Eastern Lights by Brittainy Cherry 🙂
Maxima: It’s not Eastern Lights (but going to re read that one!) I seem to recall his name being Cameron maybe He was supposed to help her move and he was a no show and it was bc his mother was a drunk driver and she ends up working at a law firm with an internship and the case was involving his mother’s victim …

Melanie: Bad Judgment by Meghan March
Maxima: That’s it! Thank you
Melanie: You’re welcome!
