Tasha needs our book help, and this one is PERFECT for this time of year. Halloween and this book has ghosts.
Maryse, I have a book question for you. I read a book, probably 5 years ago now and it keeps popping into my head and I’m curious what else the author has written.
It was a book about a realtor, a man, kind of a big shot I think, has a female boss who is a jerk, I think, who has to sell a house. The house is haunted, it has a carriage house too.
And there’s a woman, I don’t remember her job. Maybe she works as an assistant there or something, but she has a side gig in a band, like jazz or something. I think she was kind of most or nerdy, but came alive with her band.
And they try and sell the house together and uncover the mystery, rid the ghosts, that kind of thing. And there’s a love connection there, though they don’t seem like a likely match at first.
That’s pretty much all I got. The ghost did cause a lot of trouble, some of it pretty scary. I remember something about the stoves or fire or something.
Okay so my first impression (but definitely not the guess for this question) would be the Downside Ghosts (Chess Putnam) series by Stacia Kane. Mind you… It’s NOT EVEN CLOSE to being the book Tasha is looking for, but for those in a mood for an awesome paranormal ghost/scary/love story, this one has a few similarities. 😉
She’s a a sort of… witch that is hired to rid properties of very evil ghosts (very scary stuff), and there’s an eventual love interest (or two) *ahem* yes, and intense triangle (and delicious heartache and pain, and pining). The main love interest and her at first, are not a likely match (very slow burn which makes it even better), and while she’s not in a side band or nerdy, she is a nervous wreck due to what she does for a living, and therefore, desperately hooked on drugs. Plus her upbringing etc… SO GOOOD!!
Okay but I digress… we’re looking for THIS book (and it sounds good!) so does anyone have any guesses?
Tasha guessed her own reader question! LOL!!!!
Tasha: Found it! I had to type about 30 different scenarios into google, but it’s Medium Well (Ramos Family). It’s funny, because my visual cover recognizing brain kept whispering lavender, and ta da. Though this wasn’t quite it in my head, I had the general idea in my subconscious.
