<— BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!! BOOK #3 IS NOW UP FOR PREORDER!!!! Obsidio (The Illuminae Files) ➔➔➔➔

Our reading crew LOVED THIS BOOK LIKE CRAZY! I mean, best book ever, 5-star PLUS BIG love for this book. You bring up Illuminae and the squeeing starts. LOL!!! :P

Just to give you an idea ;) :

Michelle: Where’s Fabi?…FABI! I have to share my utter excitement over Illuminae! About a third of the way done and I already know it’s in my top 10 for the year and will likely climb if the pace keeps up…just OMG I’ve never read anything like it! To put it in terms you will understand, I’m Red Rising excited ;) Back to reading…I can’t see myself stopping unless I fall asleep by accident!

Fabi: Michelle!!! WOW I’m psyched about it now.

Michelle: Fabi…Maryse…someone read Illuminae! I’m still thinking about it and the hardcover is crazy crazy amazing – truly a literary work of art!

Fabi: Michelle, I finally started reading Illuminae last night. I’m only on page 25 and I don’t even have words for how much I love this book. The characters are so real and the delivery ingenious. I’m fangirling big time!

Rebecca: I’m so excited you’re reading Illuminae!! It’s so good! You’re thrown right into the action straight up, and it’s soooo angsty!! Loving the romance between Kady and Ezra. I’m 47%.

Fabi: I realize I can’t come here and squeee over every page I read. (Although, that’s what I’m doing IRL – squeeing over every new page I read.) The apology rose — omg the rose!). So, I’m going to make this comment count.

Illuminae is beyond a five star read for me. It is BY FAR my favorite book of 2015. There is not another that can compare, much less come close to the originality and precision storytelling of Illuminae. …I would recommend it (a screaming recommendation) to anyone and everyone who enjoys apocalyptic or YA or sci-fi. Don’t miss out on this experience! I think you’ll love Kady and Ezra as much as I do. …Illuminae is not only my favorite of the year, it’s going in my all-time favorites category. It’ll be #25 in there – out of the thousands of books I’ve read in my life.

Lisa: …I started Illuminae and OMG OMG OMG this has to be the best book of the year…such an original concept and its sucked me right into the midst of this dystopian space oddessy.

About book #1:

This morning, Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the hardest thing she’d have to do. This afternoon, her planet was invaded.

The year is 2575, and two rival megacorporations are at war over a planet that’s little more than a speck at the edge of the universe. Now with enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra—who are barely even talking to each other—are forced to evacuate with a hostile warship in hot pursuit.

But their problems are just getting started. A plague has broken out and is mutating with terrifying results; the fleet’s AI may actually be their enemy; and nobody in charge will say what’s really going on. As Kady hacks into a web of data to find the truth, it’s clear the only person who can help her is the ex-boyfriend she swore she’d never speak to again.

Told through a fascinating dossier of hacked documents—including emails, maps, files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, and more—Illuminae is the first book in a heart-stopping trilogy about lives interrupted, the price of truth, and the courage of everyday heroes.

I loved the unique and exiciting way this story was presented……it sits somewhere between a traditional print book, cartoon and a dossier. The reader is instantly draw into this story as an active participant….scanning through files and documents to try to unravel its mystery.
But there is more to this plot than a space odyssey. Gradually unfolding is a gentle and bittersweet relationship between the protagonists. I just loved it.
I cant wait for the next book.
