This series has come to my attention very recently. Book #1 was a freebie (might still be!) and it seems to have spurred on some very enthusiastic recommendations!
Suzanne: “There’s one series that I just finished reading by Elizabeth Hunter that I loved called the Elemental Series”
Jodi: If you haven’t read the Elemental Mysteries you need to. It has an awesome series. It has a Bones and Kat (Night Huntress) feel to it.
Great read..Sharon: The Elemental Mysteries series is FAN FREAKING TABULOUS! I read all four books in literally 3 days flat. I could not put them down. I recommend them to anyone who enjoys YA angst and vampires!
About book #1:
A phone call from an old friend sets Dr. Giovanni Vecchio back on the path of a mystery he’d abandoned years before. He never expected a young librarian could hold the key to the search, nor could he have expected the danger she would attract. Now he and Beatrice De Novo will follow a twisted maze that leads from the archives of a university library, through the fires of Renaissance Florence, and toward a confrontation they never could have predicted.
- A Hidden Fire: Elemental Mysteries Book 1
- This Same Earth: Elemental Mysteries Book 2
- The Force of Wind: Elemental Mysteries Book 3
- A Fall of Water: Elemental Mysteries Book Four
And the “Elemental World” spinoff:
- Building From Ashes: Elemental World Book One
- Waterlocked: An Elemental World Novella #1.5
- Blood and Sand: An Elemental World Novel #2
- The Bronze Blade: An Elemental World Novella #2.5
- The Scarlet Deep: An Elemental World Novel #3
From the author (about the future of this series):
“As of right now, I am planning another series of books for Ben and Tenzin, but that is still very much in the planning stages, so it will be a while. In short, Elemental Mysteries will only be FOUR books, but the Elemental World is much bigger than that and I plan to write in it for some time.”
I read all of these in 2 days. You should definitely read them, they are wonderful!
Just finished this series and it is excellent!! The first book started a little slow, not in a bad way though, and just go better and better. The first book from the spin-off series is excellent as well.
Excellent series! Got my daughter, niece and cousin to read them they are that good. I was wondering why no one had mentioned them. I’ve been following your blog since I found you (et al) have similar taste and it helped when I needed to find a book to read (lol). By my ‘scifi’ email you can guess what else I read
Side note: actually I think you might enjoy some of it too – if you ever want to expand try Turing Evolved. You will be nicely surprised – there’s romance, intrigue, action, A.N.G.E.L., A.R.C.H.A.N.G.E.L., (demons/heaven/etc) just not the way you think hmmmm.
Anyway, Elemental series was just excellent!
This series is great! Read all four books in 2 days. Just couldn’t stop and had to know how it all ended. Loved the characters and the dialogue between them. Highly reccomend this series!
I’ve read all of these and loved them.
I just got introduced to “Shade” by Jeri Smith-Ready. I’m looking forward to this series. It has to do with ghosts. I will give an update after I’m finished, but I’ve read a lot of great reviews.
Thanks guys!! That kind of intense reading is exactly what I love!
I just finished this series today. It was FANTASTIC!
I’ve been loving this series! I’m currently reading The Fall of Water. I’m excited for Building From Ashes! 🙂
