<— BRAND NEW SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE SERIES and OMG these sound right up our alley. Book #1 will be live in just a couple of days (and the other two are already up for preorder, too). YAY US!! 😀 These sound so poignant, and each one can be read as a standalone and feature some of our favorite tropes!!! Plus… I’m absolutely in love with these book covers (I just want to live in them)!!
The author (Lily Foster) is this week’s Friday Finds newsletter sponsor and she’s introducing her series with Fun Facts, and an ebook giveaway of the first book to FIVE LUCKY COMMENTERS here!
FUN FACTS ABOUT THE BLACKBIRD SERIES:
1.) I love to read rom-coms, but I don’t write them. Deep, angsty and emotional your thing? Then this series is for you. It’s got some of my all-time favorite tropes.
- When the Night is Over is an enemies to lovers story with a Romeo & Juliet vibe,
- Your Hand in Mine is an age gap, single dad-nanny romance, and
- Ghost on the Shore is a military second chance romance with a major twist.
2.) I was never a fan of Taylor Swift’s. I’ve always been in awe of the woman’s genius-level talent, but I’m more an alt-rock girl than pop. Having said that, Folklore dropped in late July, just as I was in the thick of rewrites and edits for the series. Those lyrics, that music…they just fit the mood of each and every one of these stories. At this point I’m pretty sure I know every word to every single song.
3.) My best time to write? Early morning, ideally from six to around nine or ten. I used to NEED tea and unfrosted strawberry Pop-Tarts to kick off my morning writing sessions, but now I’m hooked on bullet coffee thanks to my boy, Tim Tebow. That stuff keeps me full and focused all morning long and *bonus* I don’t wind up covered in crumbs.
About book #1:
The last time Charlotte Mason saw Simon Wade, he was shoving a paper bag from the pharmacy into her hands with a morning-after pill inside.
Even though he literally left her holding the bag, when love is true it’s limitless…and sometimes it’s blind. She wants more for Simon than the ties that bind him to their dead end town. He has one shot at a better life, and she’ll stand aside so he can take it.
Nearly four years later Charlotte is still nowhere to be found, and it’s not as if Simon hasn’t been looking. How can he forget the girl who still haunts his dreams?

This book sounds great!! Added to my TBR. I love second chance romances…I don’t think I can pick one as a favorite!
The Mighty Storm by Samantha Towle is a good one. The Too Far series by Abbi Glines is at the top of my list for second chance romance.
Love this blog! I can’t tell you how many great authors I’ve found through you! Love the second chance trope. These sound great!
This is a new to me author, but I love the blurbs and I’m a sucker for second chance romances!!

Second Chance Romances are my fave 🙂
Exes with benefits by Nicole Williams.
These sound so good! And I love the covers.
This sounds like my kind of book. Second chance romances are always great to read. One of my favorites is Purple Orchids by Samantha Christy.
Next week we are entering lockdown level 1 and we have a long weekend in SA. After weeks of working to near burnout, I cannot imagine a more rewarding feeling than emerging myself in the story of Charlotte and Simon. I am a hopeless romantic and just can’t pin one out of countless beautiful second chance reads.
Those covers are beautiful!! It’s a hidden pregnancy/ surprise you are a father troop from what it seems, so I don’t know if I will like it. I’ll try it this week.
