ALL THREE CAN BE READ AS STANDALONES!!
I love this author’s psych-thrillers (here’s my review for “Beautiful Savage” sooooo clever and she’s the psycho-stalker obsessed with a guy!! LOL!), and Aimee in our crew really enjoyed this series too (not psych-thriller – this one is contemporary romance π ).
Aimee: I liked Beautiful Savage so read this one by the same author! Loved it!! 4 1/2 – 5* I wanted to hate the heroine but she redeems herself. This is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone! Sort of a slow burn romance, kinda enemies to lovers also. You need to read to see what you consider it!! π β€οΈ β€οΈ β€οΈ
Aimee: That was the second book so I started the 3rd which is about Betsy from found in silence!
Aimee: I just finished the 3rd book in A Prairie tales series called Beneath the Stars by Lisa Sorbe. I would say 4* it was really good and Betsy made you want a best friend like her!β€οΈ I found this one had its flaws where it seems like some missing pieces so it made you wonder if she rushed this oneβ¦ but it was a good story line where I really related to the female character. Always trying to please everyone except yourselfβ¦β€οΈ
About book #1:
At thirty-one, Elise Calvert is no stranger to loss. Left entirely alone after her husband passes, she has no one to turn to when the loneliness creeps in and becomes too much to bear. But itβs okay. Alone is good. Itβs what sheβs used to. Itβs safe, secure, and thereβs no chance of having your heart ripped from your chest when you keep yourself isolated from the rest of the world.
Going through life completely numb, however, is not without its consequences. When, on a whim, Elise ditches her solitary life in Seattle for a temporary move back to her hometown in Iowa, she begins to wonder if being entirely alone is really what she wants after all. But she has plans, big plans β ones that certainly don’t include falling in love with Humphrey Malone. Who just happens to be her landlord. And someone with whom she also happens to share a steamy past.
Love isnβt all itβs cracked up to be, and Elise has no desire to hand her heart β her freedom β over to anyone ever again. But you know what they say about the best-laid plansβ¦
One Fluttering Heartbeat is the first book in the Prairie Tales series by Lisa Sorbe and can be read as a standalone.
