BREAKING NEWS UPDATE ALERT!!!!! BOOK #3 – Fourteeners (The Hydraulic Series Book 3) IS LIVE!!!
SUPER-ANGSTY ALERT!!! I remember how our book crew went crazy for this one way back when. 😉 I was intrigued, but now, even more so since R. just read it and LOVED it like crazy. And seems to love book #2 even more!
R: This book is flipping awesome. The cover and title are terrible as far as romance is concerned. I NEVER would have picked it up because it sounds sci-fi or adventure-y, but one of my FB peeps was adamant to the point of threatening to buy it for me.
It’s about childhood best friends who fall in love, get married, and then he leaves her when she’s only 21 to find himself/pursue his dreams etc (not clear on that yet). The book picks up where he’s coming back to town for his sister’s wedding (the h’s bff) and he’s now a famous author, *and* he’s bringing his editor/gf with him. Oh the angst! It’s one big heartache wrapped in really clever humor.
Cheryl: R. I read Hydraulic Level 5 when it was a fanfic. Loved it then and agree that the title is terrible. There’s some additional outtakes. https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9662502/1/Hydraulic-Level-Five-Companions …R. so jealous of you reading Hydraulic. It is intense. I may just do a re-read. Also, the angst is worth it with Hydraulic. Nothing is simple when it comes to the H and it is realistic. A realistic and harsh look.
Maryse: Hydraulic question!! I really want to read these since I remember them being so popular a few years ago, and they totally made R. freak out. Now… I’m seeing book #3 has no release date and hasn’t for a while… Does #2 end on a cliffhanger? Still good even if #3 never comes out? I’m dying to jump in!!
Amy: I saw Maryse’s question about Hydraulic on the other post, and I’d like to know the answer as well…does book two end on a CH and will it be okay if the third one never comes out??
Susan: I read both about a month ago and loved them!!! I have looked everywhere for book 3 or informative when it’s coming out and can’t find anything. Looked on her Fb page and the last time she posted was in September. So frustrating. It’s definitely an unfinished story and needs a third book. I hope she is able to finish it.
R: It isn’t a CH Maryse. The second book wraps it up, but I agree with Susan. It needs a third book in the way Fish Tales did.
Carla: HL5/Skygods is my favorite… of all time. I will always re-read it when I have a chance. I fell in love with it as a fanfic, and anxiously awaited the publication. I trust that Sarah will release Fourteeners when possible. Her personal life has become quite busy from what I understand. I love it enough to be patient and trust.
AND, Skygods is not a CH. It ends in a good place, but another book, continuing the story would be amazing. I love these characters so much.. getting to spend more time with them would be a gift.
Ria: Maryse, Did you see Sarah Latchaw has put the final book of Hydraulic series up for pre order? Fourteeners, releasing Feb 14th. I can now start reading the series 😀
Rochelle: This is such great news. Even though I hate cliffhangers her first two books are written so well and addictive that her final book is sure to be a winner. Can’t wait. Sarah Latchaw needs to quit her real life and become a full time writer.
About book #1:
Hydraulic Level Five (n.): A whitewater rapid classification indicating large waves, continuous rapids, large rocks and hazards, potential large drops, where precise maneuvering is required. Often characterized by “must make” moves, i.e. failure to execute a specific maneuver at a specific point may result in serious injury or death.
Kaye is an extreme sports addict with a kind heart and an axe to grind with her childhood sweetheart and ex-husband, renowned writer Samuel Caulfield Cabral. While Samuel enjoys a celebrity life in New York, Kaye remains in their hometown of Lyons, Colorado, running her PR agency and chatting daily with Samuel’s family, the beloved Cabrals-first-generation Mexican-Americans who have embraced Kaye as their own.
But when Samuel returns home for his sister’s wedding with a new love interest, stunning editor Caroline Ortega, the gloves are stripped off. Kaye is determined to unearth the reasons behind the death of their marriage and why two people who lived to love each other were driven apart, all leading to startling revelations about Samuel, about life, and about herself.
She soon realizes that maneuvering the tumultuous waters of her relationship with Samuel will prove as dangerous as any outdoor adventure she might attempt…at least where her heart is concerned
SERIES READING ORDER:

Susan… can we read #2 and feel like the story is complete (enough) if #3 never shows up?
Or is it a cliffhanger? Eeeeeeep!!!
Oops. Never mind… I just read you saying it’s unfinished. 😛
*sigh*
Gah! I hope she comes back!!!!
It isn’t a CH Maryse. The second book wraps it up, but I agree with Susan. It needs a third book in the way Fish Tales did. And this series (although nothing like Fish) gave me Fish feels. #fishfeels <– Suanne needs to trademark that! 😉
LOL!!!!!!
Okay good to know. So I can read it!! 😀
HL5/Skygods is my favorite… of all time. I will always re-read it when I have a chance. I fell in love with it as a fanfic, and anxiously awaited the publication. YESSSS!!! Thank you guys SO much for letting me know I can jump in. HOOOOORAYYYY!!!!! 😀
Carla was my pied piper!
Sorry, I disappeared. Yes you will be happy with 2 but will be ecstatic with the next one. Carla where are you finding information with regards to this author? I have scoured the internet trying to find out more. She is a new author with this series and she has my attention!!
I had contact with her years ago, like, back when it was on fanfic.net. I know some about her personal life and how it interrupted her writing a bit. From what I understand she and her husband have really expanded their family through fostering children. I would expect that her writing time is limited.
That said, her writing chops are tops. I’m a true fan, and as I said, I’m patient, and I trust.
She released Skygod’s in December 2014 so I don’t know when she will publish the 3rd book. She also has not been active on social media since last year. Maybe someone should tag her with the link to Maryse’s Blog/ FB page and it will inspire her to write. LOL!!
Susan, I was hoping for that, too. 😉
Rae… the third book is not out yet.
Han’t she posted it as a trilogy?
Hasn’t it been released as a trilogy?
