A nice long contemporary romance series that looks heartwarming (and steamy?). I haven’t read it yet, but would love to hear what you think, if you have.
Lisa: I have read all of them except for the last one. I really enjoyed them. I started the after reading the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr since they were similar.
Sherisse: I have read the first 6 and thought they were all good. Similar to Elle Kennedy’s paradise series which is also pretty steamy;)
Maryse’s Book Blog: Thanks guys!! Looks like nice easy romantic reads between the really angst-y stuff…
Lisa: And that is exactly what it is and the reason I read it.
About book #1
Welcome to Fool’s Gold, California, a charming community in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. There’s lots to do and plenty of people to meet, especially women. Because there’s just one tiny problem in Fool’s Gold: the men don’t seem to stick around. Maybe it’s the lure of big-city life, or maybe it’s plain old bad luck, but regardless of the reason, the problem has to be fixed, fast. And Charity Jones may be just the city planner to do it.
Charity’s nomadic childhood has left her itching to settle down, and she immediately falls in love with all the storybook town has to offer–everything, that is, except its sexiest and most famous resident, former world-class cyclist Josh Golden. With her long list of romantic disasters, she’s not about to take a chance on another bad boy, even if everyone else thinks he’s perfect just the way he is. But maybe that’s just what he needs–someone who knows the value of his flaws. Someone who knows that he’s just chasing perfect.

Fool’s Gold series is my favorite series. Once I read Chasing Perfect, I was hooked on this series. You can not read just one of these books!!! You have to read ALL OF THEM! I am now reading All Summer Long! My favorite is Summer Nights!
I came across this post 2 weeks ago and decided to give them a try…I am hooked!!! I just kept reading one after the other after the other. This is why I love your blog so much, because I normally would have turned my nose at a Harlequin romance but these books are exactly the kind of read I love! Thanks Maryse!
Are we ever going to read about Kent and Ford Hendricks and Evangeline Stryker in the Fools’s Gold series? Does Ford ever come home from deployment and is he unscarred by his combat experiences?
I read Robin Carr’s Virgin River Series, Grace Valley Series and this one.. Have loved each and every one…
I have read the entire series…Trisha: the Christmas book is about Evie Stryker. There will be another release next May. I can hardly wait.
When will Just one kiss be released?
Hi Sandy!
The release dates are listed above, on this post. The one you are asking about indicates a release date of May 2013.
I hope that helps! 🙂
Hi, I’m Susan Mallery’s assistant! 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to post this book list. It’s great! There has been a change to Susan’s schedule for 2013. Now the Fool’s Gold books will be:
June – JUST ONE KISS
July – TWO OF A KIND
August – THREE LITTLE WORDS (Trisha, Ford Hendrix is the hero of this book, and his brother Kent has a secondary romance in this book. It’s *fab-u-lous*!!! Best part of my job is that I get to read the books early. Believe me, Ford will be worth the wait!
Don’t miss all of the free between-the-books updates on the News page at http://www.foolsgoldca.com!
Is there really a fools gold town.?????
Kathy, Fool’s Gold is only real in our hearts. 🙂 But Susan has really made it such a rich experience that it feels real. Watch for a birth announcement at http://www.foolsgoldca.com later this week!
I was hooked into Susan mallery’s writing in Accidentally yours… Then already home… Then fool’s gold series… Finished them all in two days….(i know am a freak that way) , was hooked, and it is awesome…
Just finished reading “Two of a Kind”, another great book from Susan Mallery! The “Fool’s Gold” Series is my favorite! Susan Mallery crafted a brillant character in Felicia, uber-smart, sexy, and totally inept in social situations, which creates hilarious scenes!! Gideon and Felicia make a great romantic couple!
I love this series. I have read 5 of the books so far and they are entertaining and lighthearted.
do I need to read to read the Fool’s Gold in the order they were written
Hi, Wanda! No, you can jump in at any time. Each book was written as a standalone.
I have read two of the Foll’s Gold Almost Perfect and Chasing Perfect and enjoyed them with the exception of to much details with the love making. So I just hurriedly skip that part
I have read(and enjoyed) several of the Fools Gold books, but can not find “Almost Summer” I checked with my local library and was told this is only a “Kindle selection” ??????
I found her books by accident when I was looking for something to read on my tablet. Once you’ve read one you’re hooked. I’ve been reading them out of order so I wanted to know where they started. Once you get into them you feel like the characters are family much like Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove series. They make you laugh & cry. Great stories. In one of the books it listed Susan Mallery’s Fool’s Gold Christmas Cookbook, story of romance plus recipes. I checked with the library but they couldn’t find it. Has anyone heard of it or been able to find it? Thanks for the list so now I can start at the top & read the ones I’ve missed & look for the new ones. Carol
Hi, Carol. THE FOOL’S GOLD COOKBOOK (doesn’t have the word “Christmas” in it, which may have caused the confusion) is available for sale. Your library should be able to get it for you. Here’s the Amazon listing, so you can give the ISBN to your librarian: https://www.amazon.com/Susan-Mallerys-Fools-Gold-Cookbook/dp/0373892810/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1403032129&sr=1-1&keywords=0373892810
J, yes, ALMOST SUMMER is an ebook exclusive. It’s available in every ebook format, though, not just Kindle.
I read Christmas on 4th Street first and went looking for other books and now I am reading them in order. I love how one story flows over to another……easy to keep up with the folks.
i love the fools gold series please keep writing them they are great great books i have told alot of people to read them
I fell in love with fools gold since I was introduced to Patience and Justice . Little by little the town an all the new arrivals. I’ve been collecting ever since. The only disappoint ment was waiting so long for Kenny’s book and when it finally arrive, it was so short and NICE! That word came up so much. No real passion.
I am trying to find one of the Fools Gold books but cannot remember the title. It follows the book with the characters Phoebe and Zane. This book is about the cattle drive and Phoebe’s best friend is Maya. The book about Maya follows Phoebe’s book. Does anyone know the name of Maya’s book??? In Maya’s book she reconnects with Del…
Thanks!
Phoebe and Zane’s story is KISS ME. Maya’s story is THRILL ME. THRILL ME was Susan’s first time to hit #1 on the New York Times bestsellers list. 🙂 (She had hit #2 3 times prior to that, but THRILL ME was her first #1.)

Thank you so much! My g’daughter played on my Nook. I only had 40 pages left…now I can finish! Thanks again
I randomly picked up “Finding Perfect” and have enjoyed it very much, although the one thing that irritated me throughout the entire book was the reference to the “embryos.” I realize they were a major part of the story line, but I wish she would have worded it somehow differently, switched things up a bit. It was a little redundant.
I have read all of the above Fool Gold books listed above except Yours for Christmas, is this the last book of the series from Sept 30, 2014?? I was only introduced to these about 9 months ago, and I’m addicted!!!
