Single in Sitka (An Odds-Are-Good Standalone Romance Book 1)

*claps* I had so much fun (and feels) reading this one!! It wasn’t anything crazy or over-the-top tense or anything like that, just pure sweet (yet super-steamy!!! HOLY MOLY) contemporary romance, with just the right amount of angst to keep me concerned about how it would resolve. And a cop-romance which I’ve obviously got a thing for. YAY ME!! I one-clicked this on release day SO HARD. 😉

It hit all my romance-buttons:

A sweet and loving (and grieving) single father – check
An interesting (and very plausible) date potential? – check!
A not so pleasant (but also plausible) “meet cute” – CHECK!!

What a UNIQUE sounding series and our fellow readers are LOVING it! Each book is written as a standalone and is a sort of… modern “re-make” on some of our favorite fairytales. Just LOOK at this book love!! How can I possibly resist?! BOTH books that are already out, sound like exactly what I love to read… and my fellow readers are SO into ’em.

Julie: I loved Vixen and the Vet.

Carrie: The Vixen and the Vet is one of my faves!!!

bev: I’m only 20% but .know I will finish today. The hero has been a hermit after being injured and shunned by the town only really interacting with his house keeper Mrs. Potts but agrees to let the heroine do a human interest piece on him . So far I really like both of them and am finding the story to be sweet, and flirty, and moving to. read more

I’m not loving it. But it’s a series and I had to know what happens in the last book, but I’m pretty much skimming it, which is very sad. 🫣

With this Saturday being National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada, I decided to take a break from reading romance books this week and read The Inconvenient Indian By Thomas King

I’ve got a lot going on over here and have been digesting books like it’s my job (spoiler: it’s not). I’ve been listening to Tease Me Once by Willow Winters (finished) and I’ll Kiss You Twice also by Willow Winters (almost done). I don’t love it but I’m making myself finish it. There is way too much internal dialogue - not sure if that’s just this series or typical for this author’s books. I started reading The Brit by Jodi Ellen Malpas but just couldn’t get into it. So I jumped ship and read Fighting Temptation by KC Lynn, which I didn’t love. So, I think I’ll go back and try The Brit again and finish The Skull Crusher series by Penelope Sky that I had been reading earlier this month.

I’m reading Dirty Cillian by Harley Diamond. It’s GOOD!

Arc of Fall Into You by J.T. Geissinger.

Actually I am reading 3 books at a time,, the above A Werewolf in Manhattan, The Vampire Shrink by Lynda Hilburn and getting caught up on my Anita Blake series Dead Ice.

Redemption book #3 by Jessica Ruben! Unable to put them down!

HOLY MOLY LOOK WHAT I JUST FOUND!!

I'm gonna read each one of these... right now!!! I will spend the day, and maybe even the evening reading tonight, and hopefully, these will keep me fully entertained. YAY ME!!!! 😀
