There is nothing better then experiencing “Dex” through Perry’s eyes… and then finally getting into his head after the whole shebang! WOW!!! Quite the revelation! Old Blood – A Novella (Experiment in Terror #5.5) (*slight spoiler alert* for those of you who are not familiar with this series yet, skip this review and scroll all the way to the bottom for everything I’ve written about it. I LOVE THIS series, just thought I’d let you know). 😉
A great short read to fill in many of the blanks concerning Dex and Perry and their mutual tie to “Pippa”. This is Pippa’s story in great detail. I’m sure the majority of EIT fans have already read this one, and/or remember Pippa, but just in case you haven’t yet, and need a refresher, Pippa is… “creepy clown lady”.

As the Experiment in Terror Series picks up momentum and gains extreme popularity with each new fellow reader in our huge reading-crew (I’m telling you, it seems that whoever reads the series, LOVES the series), we still get questions from newcomers that are curious about our incredible enthusiasm over it.

Jill: have had the first two books of this series on my kindle forever! I don’t know why I am hesitant to start them… they just don’t sound like my kind of thing… but I don’t think I have read any reviews on here that didn’t like them!! However, I have read the first one is hard to get into. Did you feel that way?

The following is a scene from the upcoming Experiment in Terror compilation novel, The Dex-Files. This novel consists of short stories and scenes from Dex Foray’s point-of-view and as a special treat for Maryse and her readers, I’m giving you guys a certain scene. Out of all of them, this one was one of the ones readers were clamoring for the most – the strip club scene.

“Where are we going?” Perry asked from beside me, taking in the sights of the city. They weren’t too pretty at the moment. Granville Street was Vancouver’s entertainment district, which meant street punks with suspiciously acquired dogs, pushy homeless people, jonesing drug addicts and stumbling, drunken idiots in Tap-Out shirts. Not to mention the Canucks had just won the hockey game against the Rangers, so everything was multiplied by a billion beers and douchebags.

I haven’t read a lengthy series, back to back without interruption in ages, but Karina Halle’s “Experiment in Terror” series absolutely hooked me. I could not, and did not want to stop. Especially when I hit the end of book #5. ARGH!!!! I need more!! Fortunately, there is more to come, (3 more books on the way, and a few short stories, too)!! *squee* I can’t get enough of these raw , real characters and I’m dying to explore every facet of them as the series progresses. And you know what makes it even better? Having a big group of reading friends that are just as ecstatic about them as me!
