R. Renee just posted her top three books of 2024 and since she and I have VERY similar tastes in books (we like twists and risks and crazy angst), she has my attention! She’s an avid reader and a long-time fellow reader right here on the blog, so if she loved these books, you KNOW they’re good!

YAY R. Renee!!!!! She is back (well, she’s always been with us, for years, even!!) and while we often chat books in the comments, you’ll find us chatting food, and all the foodie things too! I think she and I have identical palettes. Also you’ll find us chatting trips! Well, her trips (she’s done some fun traveling lately), and me living vicariously through her. LOL! 😂

And apparently we struggled through a similar book-rut in 2022. But that doesn’t mean we didn’t read some awesome ones. To be fair, we’ve both been in “home-change mode”. Her, with home renovations, me with home selling and then home buying and moving. BUT!! She did manage to read a bunch that are new-to-me, and I can’t wait to discover them too! OMG I think R. Renee has become my book triplet (Tasha J. being my book twin 😉 ) I didn’t realize how much R. was into horror and creepy stuff like I am. And I will absolutely finish Whisper Down the Lane (I started it, and held off for something sweeter), and also, I LOVED “In Five Years” like she did… AND I just one-clicked “Still Beating”. YAY ME!!! Thank you R!!

Now… for some 2021 R. Renee comment highlights (she talks food, kitchen appliances, books, and skin care with us regularly and… she’s wonderfully worldly so we get her trip updates too!!) so anyone new here can get to know her better. YAY R!!!! I LOVE her lists, and I’ve always found that she and I ALSO have similar book tastes (especially with books that have surprise twists!!).

And… she’s loves to cook. She’s my decadent foodie friend and in fact, I get a lot of my tips and tricks & ideas from her – like steaks in the air fryer!!! HOLY MOLY that turned out amazing. We love discussing kitchen gadgets (and recipes) with her, though she claims…

I can follow a recipe like a boss, but hand me a bunch of ingredients and I’ll fold like a cheap suit! read more
