Book Review – Avoiding Responsibility by K.A. Linde
Avoiding Responsibility (book #2 in the Avoiding Series)
I read this one back in the day when it was free on Fictionpress and what a crazy reading week that was!! We all pretty much…went nuts together, having no clue what we were in for. Thank goodness we had each other for support (you can check outΒ my review of book#1Β –Β Avoiding Commitment, and you’ll see what I mean).
This series mentally exhausted and drained me, and yet… while I was growling furiously, I was also grinning with devilish glee! Ohhhh the delicious, ridiculous emotional pain. π
Book Review – Avoiding Commitment by K.A. Linde
Avoiding Commitment (Avoiding Series)Β —> (side note – this book is no longer available for free on Fictionpress, as discussed in the review below but is now for sale on Amazon).
I’m changing it up a bit! Today’s review features a freebie on Fictionpress! I mean… why not, right? So many of my favorite books originated there (Thoughtless, for example), and if a bunch of my fellow readers are *squeeing* over a story, I MUST read it, too!
And that’s what happened over the last week or so. Francine first recommended it to me in April, via email:
Book Review – The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher
The Opportunist
I loved this book so much that it seems like I’ve highlighted the whole thing! And this isn’t a sweet and cuddly kind of love, either. This book’s “feel” borders on a mix of two emotionally devastating, tumultuous books from our reading past (How to Kill A Rockstar + Thoughtless – just the feel, not the story itself). Books that we loved, but only because they had us reeling, crying, and delightfully angrified ;). Sighing in love and then gasping in shock as certain truths came to light (stuff we knew that they didn’t. Stuff they knew that WE didn’t).
Book Review – The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred
The Sweet Gum Tree
Another fantastic find that I’d almost say was a perfect read, except for the angry outburst I had at a certain “reveal” that I’m still pouting about. But then again, it’s that very outburst that helped me reach the pinnacle of my emotional overload, so for sure, it added to my reading experience.

Melissa left this comment/recommendation (and I wholeheartedly agreed):
“The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred…AMAZING STORY. Not really the bad boy type but I haven’t gotten that emotional over a book in a long time! It’s one of those laugh to tears and cry your eyes out type stories that kept me up til 4 am.”
