Once Burned: A Night Prince Novel
So…. I liked it, overall. *nods* Vlad was one I was anxiously looking forward to. His quick sarcastic wit, his biting comments (that still made me laugh), his issues with Bones, and especially his ability to connect deeply with those he cares about. Almost as if he was, in his own way, looking to be loved. The many moments he was there for Cat in the past… yep. Cinched it for me. Vlad was scary and dangerous, but there was something almost heartbreaking (or heartbroken) about him, and he was so real to me.

One More Thing… Look Who I Just Found!! Jeaniene Frost’s “Vlad” *sigh*
Oh would you look at that! I think I’ve met him before!! 😉 Tee hee!!! Once Burned: A Night Prince Novel (release date – June 26th 2012)
Jeaniene Frost – Night Huntress Series Reading Order:
One of my all time favorite series (including the awesome “spin-off) – this is a MUST read! A world where vampires, ghouls, ghosts, and shifters exist (in hiding) amongst our own human population! Cat (born half human, half vampire) started off as a vampire hunter, but tangled with the wrong monster. Or should I say, the right one?
Bones showed her the error of her ways, helped her embrace and develop her vampire side, and together, they have been battling evil for six books now. Always exciting, laugh-out-loud funny, emotional, and sometimes downright scary. Each installment provides a new mystery to solve, a new battle to overcome, and another chapter in an intense romance that still gives me butterflies.
Book Review – Eternal Kiss of Darkness by Jeaniene Frost
Eternal Kiss of Darkness
I LOVED it! In fact, I would have easily pulled an all-nighter, but my iPad quit before I was ready to (husband didn’t recharge it for me after his day of playing with it). But it held up well. I started the book late Friday evening and read straight through until 4am. It kept me captivated, on the edge of my seat, and I *sighed* my butt off throughout.
There was just something about this couple that sucked me right in, and they felt *right*. It was tense, exciting, chilling and heartwrenchingly sad – but incredibly and believably romantic. It had just the right amount of angst. I didn’t roll my eyes once! I know I’m *feeling* the book when my reading automatically slows down and I absorb and revel in the moments – does that ever happen to you? Conchita, you had it right! It WAS to be “savored slowly like a decadent desert” 😉
