HAPPY NEW RELEASE DAY EVERYONE!!! Today is FULLY loaded in our favorite authors!!!
In fact, it was SO easy to make a blurb-jolt list today, ’cause I want to desperately read: Pull Me Close (that one there to the left… readers are flipping over it, and saying we have to go in blind, but SHE is an agoraphobe!! I love the premise already), Keepsake (I LOVE this author and this one sounds poignant!! She’s recovering from a horrific trauma that is giving her nightmares, and HE’s been kicked out of a cult where he was raised, and trying to figure out how to navigate the “real” world), Kept (she’s desperate for a place to stay, and he’s a recluse that helps her. Plus he’s a Dom and she just might be his perfect submissive), Edges (her fiancé is dead, and then she realizes she wasn’t his only fiancee…), Water Under The Bridge (this sounds like the most exciting psych-thriller!!! She’s a serial killer ready to take a hiatus, blend into “normal” life, and have a family in the suburbs, and HE’S a killer too… that’s blending too. And stalking her… GAH THIS BLURB!!!! Biggest *jolt* of the day for me!), and then… American Queen (another serious blurb jolt, but it sounds like it will be some serious romance-angst… I think she’s in love with the President of the United States… and it’s this last line that GOT me: “My name is Greer Galloway, and I serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States. This is the story of an American Queen.”
But, yep. I’m think I’ve definitely selected my very next choice. I JUST HAVE TO READ THIS ONE (Pull Me Close) NEXT!!!!! The reviews are SO good (even Jean read and loved it!!) In fact, Jean, I know we had a buddy read scheduled for tonight, but let’s hold off for a day or two? I just have to read this!
Gabrielle: I’ve heard so many things about PULL ME CLOSE. I started it last night, out of curiosity since it’s about recluse (which I love) and people are being sketchy on the reason why she’s a recluse. So, when it loaded on my Kindle I started it. I CAN.NOT.PUT.IT DOWN! So beautiful
Maryse: Gabrielle I wanna read it badly!!!
Rachel: Rachel: …Now I see what all the fuss is about! MARYSE, it is soooo damn good. Maybe the author will give you an arc or something. Listen to this…she had a tragic event something you are NOT expecting and has been a recluse for years because of it. She ends up meeting a guy who owns a nightclub. But she can’t go see him because she can’t leave her house beacaue she’s agoraphobic! Gahhh. So good.
Jean: Oh, oh, oh……Pull Me Close! Already read an ARC and absolutely LOVED IT!!!! Highly recommend!
Mia: …It’s called Pull Me Close. I don’t like books with damaged h’s because they make me cry and I hate to cry. Give me a Rom Com anytime of the week, please. Anyway. Christ on a cracker! It was the best book I’ve read this year. I swear, I was reading about myself most of the time. The h has social anxiety and hasn’t left her house but the events are based on like…current things. It’s one of those books you shouldn’t know too much about before going into it. So don’t say anything if you read it! Anyway, it was gooood. now I have a book hangover and am going to grab my usual Rom Com (A little Penny Reid for me). *sniffle sniffle*
Amy: Hi Mia!!! *big welcome hug* Don’t be a stranger around here. And thanks for the heads up on Pull Me Close…whenever I hear we shouldn’t know too much before going into a book, it’s like catnip for me.
Janet: Pull Me Close is live. Squeeee!! I’ve been waiting for this one
Rachel: I can’t wait for everyone to read Pull Me Close. I’ve never wanted a book to succeed as much as this one. I guess because of my personal issues I related so much with the h, that I want everyone to read it and see how REAL this book is!! Okay, I’m logging off before the author has me committed for stalking. lol
P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).
P.P.S. ➔ Follow me (and Pimmie AND Hobbit – my sweet puppies – yep, I have a new addition!) on Instagram? That would be SO cool!!!

Seriously Maryse????? Do you not have anything better to do than find all these books???? Thank you by the way!
Although I’m very upset Apartments and The Marriage Games are not standalones!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Amazing list Maryse!! Thank you 😀
I am reading The Royals series by Erin Watt and freaking loving it!! I am almost done with Paper Princess and I love those Royals! Yes they can be total jerks but deep inside they are just suffering. I can’t wait to get off work today so I can keep reading. I am glad I waited till all 3 books were out 😀
UGH! I’ve been flip-flopping with my reading–I started reading Edges this morning but put it down at 10% and went back to Marriage Games, which I put down at 20% (both of which I fully intended to pick back up in a couple of days).
But wow, Maryse! Once I read your blurb for Edges, I wanted to pick it back up that much quicker! Yours sounds much better than the blurb I read! lol
But first! I HAVE to try Pull Me Close!
See! Flip-flopper!!
Oh, and now I also want to read ‘Water Under the Bridge”. That sounds awesome!
Has anyone read or heard anything about Prisoned by Marni Mann? Here’s the blurb: When I opened my eyes, I was in a cell, my body covered in bruises. Not a jail. I’d been kidnapped and imprisoned. I wasn’t alone. I shared the cell with Garin Woods, the man I’d loved since I was a kid. The man I couldn’t be with because of the secret. A man who would kill me if he found out what that secret was. Someone wanted to torture me. Torture us. One of us deserved it. It wasn’t Garin.
I think it released in August of this year….
Lisa I haven’t heard of it but it sounds amazing!
Lisa I’ve been hearing that it’s AWESOME!!! I think my friend (and she comments here every once in awhile), Kandace just read it and LOVED IT!
Totally up my alley, that one, I just know it!
LOL Nay!
I always choose “the part” that gave me the *blurb-jolt* and post that. Sometimes a blurb can either give too much info, or ramble…
but sometimes you have that ONE LINE that says just enough to make me wanna read it. 😀
LOL Ela!
I do! I have to read said books. 😉 *snort*
It’s a treasure hunt my friend. I’m all about hunting for book-treasure!
YAY Anne! I’ve only read the first one so far and I LOVED it, so I can’t wait to hear what you think of the rest of the trilogy.
American Queen sounds so good, especially the timing around the craziness of the presidential elections. EXCEPT, it’s book one in a trilogy. So, guess I’ll be waiting a while to read it! Boo- hiss!!!
Pull Me Close and Edges are definite clicks, and I just wish we knew if American Queen is a standalone in the trilogy or has a CH/unresolved ending. But I’m not peeking at reviews so if anyone has the urge to read it and fill us in… 😉
And The Thunder Beneath Us looks crazy intriguing!
Loads added to my wish list – I am trying to be good and get my 1-click under control…
Amy – the price of The Thunder Beneath Us!?? £11.65!!!
Great. Stupid book fog. I have Bound and I have been wanting to read it forever, but the fog has me just staring at it. I’m trying to re-read The Affiliate, but nope.
Everyone read Never Let You Go by Katy Regnery!
Tessa, That’s what I have! Book fog! I finished It Ends With Us and now I’m just stuck.
Nay, I know you didn’t get into Marriage Games, but did you like C.D. Reiss’s writing style? You might like Songs of Perdition. I’ll send it to you through GR.
Book Fog! Yes! And I’m not even that far along.
I’m sure its no surprise by now that my reaction to a book is opposite many of yours.
But I’m reading The Man I Love by Suanne Lacquer and I am in a total haze of love and admiration.
Her writing! *fingertips kiss* muah! It’s exquisite.
FABI!!!!!
YAY!!! YES!! YESSSSSS!!! Her writing! Once you get past the slow intro part HOLY MOLY it goes crazy after that.
Okay, just read the blurb for American Queen, and yeah. I wanna read that.
I am thrown by the twist in Rainfall, although it probably isn’t really a twist if you read the blurb LOL. I just can’t find time to read!!
R–yes, I think I liked her writing style, just haven’t gotten into the story enough to tell for sure. I’m just going to read Pull Me Close and then come back to it. Yes, I can try Songs of Perdition. Thanks!!
Nay, I can loan it if you want to try it. Just let me know when.
Well I AM NOT READING ANYTHING THAT HAS A PART 2, IS ONE OF A DUET, PART OF A SEQUEL AND SEQUEL NOT FINISHED, SO YEAH! I decided on Prisoned by Marni Mann, thanks to the above mention by Lisa…..
*high fives Ela*
R I love twists I didn’t see coming because I only skimmed or skipped the blurb.
Ela, let me know if you like it. I have it on my want to read list, but if it’s awesome, I’ll put it on my “now I own it and will find the time to read it” list.
R – you will not see the final twist coming, or at least I didn’t. Yeah, the first twist is kinda oh well yeah, that’s kinda bad/sad. However, my heart was yanked out. I promise it’s worth it!!!
See Fabi! And Maryse is an expert! Except for the whole “goes crazy” part. I don’t know what she’s talking about. Nope. Nothing happens. Nothing at all.
Speaking of Suanne, Maryse, when are you reading An Exaltation of Larks?? I’m dying over here!!
I don’t have it, R…
Hrmmm.
Slow part? What slow part? I got to 30% and loved every word of it.
But I’m afraid to keep going. Scratch that. I’m not afraid…I’m terrified.
Fabi, it’ll be fine. It’s just that at a certain point, it was so intense (for me) that I couldn’t put it down anymore.
I think you’re too worked up. You’re going to read it and be like…that’s it??
I agree. I loved the beginning too because it sets up the love story, but I still rushed it. I totally regretted it though and went back and reread it afterward. I missed so much the first time!
Assurances from the death club. I feel so much better now. hahaha
Kidding! I love you guys. I’m sure I’ll have another late night reading tonight.
Baaaahhahahahah!!!!
Death Club. *snort*
*smirk*
*rubs hands together with devilish glee* 😛
Hmmm Maryse… I think you’re supposed to have it already.
Oh yeah, R?
I shall investigate…
GOT IT!!!!!
I had to download it. 🙂 YAY ME!!!!
Fabi, I realized after I leant it. You have The Man I Love and are reading it right now. You had it to borrow on Booklending and I was like, oh sure. I will gladly loan it to her… Ooops?
oh! I’m so sorry Tessa! I try to go through there at least once a week and remove any I’ve already purchased. You caught me right between cleanup.
I feel bad. 🙁 Thank you for being so thoughtful!
Yay Maryse! 😀
It’s alright. You were the only one requesting it. The intent was there. I did that before too, got a book I just bought. Nothing to be done about it.
Also, thanks for the reminder. *cleans out her list*
Bwahahaha! *assurances from the Death Club* I’m literally LOL-ing right now
I know right? It’s like she doesn’t trust us or something…
I can’t seem to like any book lately! What is wrong with me? Or the books? Everything is annoying, all characters suck!!!!!!!!!!!! The last book I truly loved was It Ends With US, then I liked The Black Swan….and then bam they all are sucky!
We should get T shirts Maryse! They’d be grey, and sparkley, of course! And have a picture of our mascot manatee Manny holding out a book with a speech bubble saying trust us…this book is safe for all readers!
Death club assurances…
*snort-choke*
😐
*looks innocently at everyone*
And on there t-shirt Manny can have sparkly snuffle on him. 😛
And can we have one of our famous Friday/mid-week martinis on it?? 😛
*THE t-shirt
Geez.
YES!!! Omg, I would totally rock this shirt! (This was almost an autocorrect fail BTW!!)
Late, as usual, but I just finished Black Swan Affair. Solid 4.5 stars for me. It wasn’t what I was expecting. Actually kept me guessing! Nice amount of angst and pretty saucy too. It’s had to write a review without spoilers!
OMG I’d totally buy one!! We should create one on cafe press and everyone can order their own!!
Wait. When did Manny start drinking?
Not to point fingers but you all drove him to it.
YES!!! Hot pink sparkly martinis on the shirts!!
Manny is underage! He just holds the martinis for us with his flippers.
When Maryse isn’t shoving his flippers in my mouth, that is.
*snort*
Amy said flippers.
I dunno why that’s snort-worthy but I totally just snorted out loud and scared my dogs. 😛
Sharon…did you check out Maryse’s review? There are a lot of great comments about it there! 😀
I can totally see that. A cute little manatee holding out a drink and book. It’d have the words ‘Maryse’s Death Club’ on the back with italicized ‘Read at your own risk’ under it. 🙂
So…..He doesn’t drink he just fetches the drinks.
At two years old.
Whoops. I fed Manny Jager when I stole him after Hausfrau. I thought he was kind of a lightweight.
LOL R.!
bev is now pointing her fingers at YOU!!!!!
Maybe the title of the book Manny is holding could be ‘Death Club’…
In choice of black, grey, or pink.
Just finished Pull Me Close. I’m still processing it, it was intense. I really loved it, maybe because I hate elevators too, I related. Anyone else read(ing) it? I need something light now– maybe Max Monroe.
What we need are Free Manny t-shirts.
And manatee pasties for Tessa.
So…we are getting accused of contributing to the delinquency of a minor manatee, we find out R has been slipping him drinks, Maryse is scaring her dogs by snorting over the word flipper, Tessa and Grey are designing Death Club shirts, and poor Dory is just trying to talk about books (on a book blog…imagine that ;)).
Yep. Typical evening on Maryse’s Book Blog.
lol! I didn’t read the above before I wrote my comment. But I have now, and y’all are so funny! And now I want a drink. That’ll probably make me feel better than a light book.
Manatee pasties? WTH?
LOL Amy!!! Way to sum it up.
Amy, like to dress up Tessa as a naked fairy. Basically she sprinkles her with glitter. But Tessa insist on pasties.
Maryse, dress your dog’s up as Manatees for Halloween.
Amy, you’ve seen these, right?
https://www.google.com/search?q=manatea+tea+infuser&oq=manatee+tea+&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0l3.8547j0j4&client=ms-android-samsung&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
*scratches head* Is it just me, or is there something a tad creepy about those little manatees climbing into a mug, bev? Not as cute as the cuddly soft toy kind. Those silicon ones are a bit halloweeny……almost alive………
Amy, I avoided Maryse’s review in BSA this time . . . Wanted to go in with no expectations! I started The Pact 2, and the beginning had me blubbering. I put Anita Blake down for a bit because I have to read this series in small doses – too much inner dialog for me – I picture the characters getting old during some of the overly lengthy scenes.
HEY! I’m not dead!!! I still have my extended family living with me and it is wearing me out. I literally read three books in October. THREE. I feel depressed about that.
Can someone give me the 5 sentence recap of October? I am sure I missed something great – a book or a conversation.
I am currently reading A Promise of Fire (Kingmaker Chronicles Book 1) and loving it. She is a great heroine. Strong. Super snarky. A total bad @$$. It is Golden Dynasty meets Percy Jackson meets Throne of Glass. Seriously. She’s abducted by a warlord (woo hoo) from the traveling circus where she’s been hiding for years because of her crazy powers. The royals want her because of the powers (Kingmaker) and this warlord is no different. But she is not coming along easily. There are dragons and greek gods and there’s magic. And hanky panky! Did I mention the hanky panky? The slow burn is just what I needed. She’s not having it but he keeps trying anyway.
Missed you all. What’s everyone been up to?
Omg. MichelleS, I thought the fae had kidnapped you.
We need Amy she is so good at the recaps.
We have new people commenting.
They don’t know the Michelles.
Made me sad.
To cheer up Leslie, Jean, Amy, Ela, and I made plans to go to Russia.
Amy ran off with Jean for an Affair instead.
Made me sad.
I’m still in Russia.
R. became Thoughtless and wouldn’t read Dumplin’
Made me sad in Russia.
Fabi said she doesn’t even want to taste a Dumplin’ and went Fishing.
No, really I’m still there. In Russia.
Tessa tried to Fish, but gave up.
That made happy. In Russia.
Maryse was going to come get me.
In Russia.
Amy though introduced her and R. to a Hausfrau ( who does not make Dumplins)
So she went to Sweden instead.
So. Im. Still. In. Russia.
R. turned Manny into an alcoholic.
I understand. I might join him.
In Russia.
OMG bev…
I SWEAR YOU ARE THE MOST HILARIOUS friend ever!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀
I LOVED THAT RECAP.
Gah… I wanna make blogpost JUST to highlight that recap.
*sigh*
I love us, you guys!!!! 😀
In Russia? So I am assuming you are reading The Bronze Horseman Trilogy? LOVED IT!!! Keep going. Don’t you dare abandon it.
I loved Dumplin. I’ll second that recommendation.
What is in Sweden?
I also read “Risk” – a Mageri world novel. It’s Simon’s story. For anyone who loved that series. He’s the hotty mc hotty with the British accent who wears leather pants and says whatever he is thinking.
And I read Highland Surrender (T. Brogan) because I needed to just read my old favorite genres since I had so little time to read. I knew I’d enjoy that old feeling. It was a good one, for fans of the Scottish romance novels.
After this, I am ready for something contemporary. I think. Not 100% sure. Nothing seems to be that exciting. Last best things I read were Empire of Storms (fantasy) and Ice Planet Barbarians (sci-fi alien romance romp). So there’s that. I obviously am craving an escape. HA!
Switzerland actually and it’s Hausfrau. A-MA-ZING. But not contemporary romance. I’m reading Rainfall right now but it’s Halloween season over here and I haven’t had time to do anything but haunt! I’ll get back to reading soon.
Welcome back!!
Hi Michelle!!! Oooh, and I suggested we make shirts! And I’m gonna read that book. I too haven’t read much this month. Work has been kicking my a$$. I’ve had a couple great ARCs though…
Welcome Dory!
*huggles attacks MichelleS* Hello! I don’t know how you felt A Court of Thorn and Roses, but you must read A Court of Mist a D Fury. The first was a weak 4 star, but the second, OMG. Five +++ stars. We missed you.
Can I at least have a top instead of pasties. Those hurt coming off.
OMG bev…I’m seriously dying here! How the heck could I top that recap?? You. Are. HILARIOUS!!! LOL!!
*dives into puppy pile*
Missed you MichelleS!!! Extended family living with you? *cringes* You are doing a wonderful thing, but even in the best of situations that is tough. Hang in there, lady.
Ooh!! Tessa!!! Guess where I am? In a court that has a bunch of thorns and roses. And I’m loving it here! I gave up on Harley and Rose at about the 10% mark ’cause…well, I’m going to try to be nice and not say anything at all. 😕 But I’m loving Feyre and Tamlin!!!
Amy, is that the one where she goes to see him in his castle even though it very likely means death for her?
*waves widely* Hi MichelleS !
ummm widely? That’s rather odd. Most people would wave ‘wildly’.
Oh no Amy! I need a reason. I was thinking about that book. PM me!!
Waving widely is all the rage, Fabi.
Fabi…hmmmmm, you could be waving widely, like your flagging someone down. 😉
And it’s the one where she has to go live in the faery world as part of a treaty because she killed a faery. It’s been dangerous for her but so far no certain death. I’m only halfway through though so things could change…
I will, R. I just felt like I was reading something written by a teeny bopper and…yeah, I’ll stop there.
But hey, the cover is gorgeous and doesn’t have a half-naked guy on it!!
Squeeeeeeeeeeee seriously? And, ifvyou like that one, the second blewe away. Yeah!
Oh, ok, I know which one it is now. I think I have it as a GBL. I didn’t quite hold me all the way through even though I liked it.
Hi Michelle! I’m a new people!
Amy–I experienced the same thing you did with the same book. I made it to about 15% and decided it just wasn’t for me. But I agree about the cover!
Omg, I just couldn’t go back and read all your comments but did get to bev’s recap!!! Hysterical! Oh and I’ve been to Russia and I’m never going back!
FLT: I’ve read many more books than you. (Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon…..another bev rec). It’s YA which I sometimes have a problem with, but this book is so uniquely written and is totally reminding me of Eleanor & Park! I am flying through it (or maybe it just seems that way since I was stuck in Russia for a week)!
Fabi. Was Thorn and Roses gbl?
If it was gbl then it’s time for her to go back. 😉
FLT
“The forest had become a labyrinth of snow and ice.” ~ Sarah J. Maas
Yes, Tessa. I got to about 40% of A Court if Thorns and Roses.
Nay, glad I’m not the only one who didn’t make it through. 😉
*whispers to Fabi* Go back. You’re almost to where it really starts getting good.
😀
*gives thumbs up*
I almost forgot it was Thursday.
“The water ran in sheets down the big shop window , blurring the street beyond.” Bluewater Blues by G.B. Gordon
Kind of a blah first line but I guess it does set the opening scene. I started this one this morning. Taking a short break from The Man I Love because a certain someone is about to make a certain phone call which I certainly don’t want them to make.
Thanks for the feedback Amy. 🙂
Fabi I thought you were at 60% are you still?
Ooooh. Seriously that one is good but then two hits and OMG!
FLT:
“A storm is brewing. ”
The Affiliate by KA Linde
It’s a good book, reread, but Erm. Candy corn in GW2 is more important.
FLT
‘Bass pounded in the air, red plastic cups littered the table, and half a dozen students played beer pong in the dining room.’
Mine for now – Erika Kelly
Tessa…do they still have districts in that game?
Because if they do, tell the other gamers you heard there is interspecies prostitution in district 9. 😛
Hi Paula. *waves* You should post more often. We miss you.
Yup, R. @ 60% leading into that phone call is where I stopped at like 2 am this morning. Then tossed and turned ’till 4.
Nope. No district. Only cities and countries. It’s a huge map at this point and just a lot of fun.
FLT!!! OMG. I missed that.
“I pluck at my crimson tunic, tenting the lightweight linen away from my sticky skin.” – A Promise of Fire.
I haven’t read a Court of Thorns & Roses. The sample didn’t grab me. But I freaking LOVED Throne of Glass series (I mean seriously, that last book? Just wow). So I should give this author another chance.
Please tell me you read Throne of Glass Amy. You should try this Kingmaker series too. She’s the best heroine in a long time for me.
FLT “It was raining the day I met Adam Parker.” Rainfall by Melissa Delport.
Ugh!!! I felt a stomach punch just reading your first line R. I can’t think about or I’ll get all weepy.
Holy moly, R…I know for a fact you haven’t hit the, er, brilliant turn of events. Because no way would you be this calm.
Dang…Hausfrau, Thoughtless, Rainfall. Woman, you need to pace yourself on the Marmy books. You’re going to build up a tolerance and then books like Badger and Jezebel and Forbidden aren’t going to have the desired effect.
Oh, you didn’t know you’re going to read those? Huh. Well now you do.
*rubs Fabi’s back comfortingly*
*snuggles under Amy’s arm* what a bestest friend
Ooh! Jezebel and Badger are Marmy books? I think I have both of those!
FLT:
‘Panic. Blood curdling fear.’ (I couldn’t just give one word! lol)
Pull Me Close by Sidney Halston
Yay Nay! I LOVED THAT BOOK!
R is making me want to re-read Rainfall now!
And those of you who haven’t read Jezebel (and the short novella)….get on it asap!
Is Jezebel Marmy? I LOVED it, but it didn’t feel Marmy to me. We may have to discuss. Hmmm…
I have Forbidden on my TBR I think. I’m not getting much reading time in with the Halloween party coming up. I’m barely into Rainfall.
Okie dokie! Headed back to the trail. Here’s the latest pics! https://s350.photobucket.com/user/robinhillwrites/library/Misc/Halloween
*I* think it qualified as a Marmy read because of the *OOMPH!* twist we didn’t see coming. I know I didn’t see it coming, and I’m pretty sure Maryse didn’t either. But I would say it’s one of the “safer” Marmy reads. Not *too* intense but emotional and twisty all the same with a nice WTH! to round it out.
Care to chime in if you pop in here, Maryse? Guess I better get that list over to you soon as well…
Looks great, R! 😀
Wow, R! Those look great! Looks like it’s going to be a rip-roaring party with an awesome open bar! Annnnd you need to read Forbidden!
Oh yes. Jezebel is def a Marmy book… It’s a Grey book at any rate LOL! Oomph and Forbidden, that one made the bottom of my stomach fall out!
I haven’t read any of these… Not Rainfall, not Court of Thorns, or Hausfrau or TMIL…geez, I’m currently under my rock.
I refuse to read Forbidden……my stomach can’t take it! (Grey, you should really read Rainfall though….we are somewhat book twins!)
I’m with Lisa and Jean on Rainfall!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rainfall, Rainfall, Rainfall!!!! I love that book. The ending destroyed me for days….even when I think of it now, I get the feelz.
I don’t know if I want to hang out with you guys anymore! LOL. I have a major hangover, now.
After my book fog with Pull Me Close I was going to go fluffy with Max Monroe but then read all y’alls comments and Maryse’s review and decided to go in and read Hausfrau. SIGHHH I am going to hide under my bed, now. Not even under the covers…under the bed! My mind can’t process all this intensity. I’m going to have to read some straight erotica now or maybe THe Cat in the Hat. LOL. Something COMPLETELY different. Anyway, 2 great books in just a short matter of day…head explode.
Tee hee Dory!!!
*slides our furry-stuffed manatee “Manny” to cuddle with you under the bed*
Can I play FLT too???
I thought I would be her nightmare – her terror and darkness.
Quintessentially Q
Squeeeee…I am finally reading the Monsters In the Dark series (can’t believe I waited this long…I can’t barely tear myself away from it and actually do work at work
Dory, wasn’t Pull Me Close so great? Max Monroe’s books can definitely get you out of that funk….they are funny and light!
Lisa! I’ve only read the first book and then never finished…..like so many other series….damn!
Same here. And I love Pepper’s books. Probably because I can pretend happy after book 1 but 2 is gonna throw that wrench at me.
I am 70% in Broken Prince and loving it!! This family is f*cked up lol. I am loving Reed’s POV though.
Yes!! Jean it was so freaking good. I feel like I’m the only one that’s read it and have no one to talk about it with. Same thing with Hausfrau, not that I even want to talk right now. LOL
So…I’m pretty new here, where can I get a Manny to cuddle with? LOL I may have to go to the Aquarium gift shop and cry into the manatee tank.
Haven’t read Pull Me Close but I totally understand your Hausfrau hangover!
Dory is going to get arrested for trying to hug the manatees in their tanks! *cackles*
“But…but…officer! My friends told me I could snuggle the manatee because I was sad from my book!”
Yeah.
Don’t do that.
Ha! I love when bev just creeps in like that…..
Do it! I’m sure they won’t mind. Besides, manatees love cuddling.
They bite.
Only when you hurt their owner’s feelings. By trying to warn her others away from her books.
Bev…look familiar?
*snort!!*
*gasp*
Am I the shark?
Maryse is loving and selling that book book for both of you, lol.
When I try to hug you. LOL!!
That book DESERVES all the love it’s getting!
Bev!! I forgot to say it but those “manatea” things are freaking adorable! I want one!!!!
Are you guys talking about Hausfrau??
Yes. Maryse wrote a review couple days ago. Seen the book mentioned on her fb couple times and people saying that they need to read it now.
See, my warnings are unheeded.
Because it’s brilliant, bev. And Maryse is The Book Whisperer.
Hi everybody- feels like I’ve been sporadic here lately. Hey MichelleS- I have family visiting too, so I can kinda relate. So messes up my reading and commenting here time!
FLT:
“It’s dark when we arrive at Point of Grace, Berkeley’s grandparents’ vineyard in Stellenbosch, but Paps and Ouma— as we are directed to refer to them— are waiting for us on the front porch of the old colonial farmhouse.” Believe (The Brightside) by Katie Delahanty. Loving this book. I highly recommend all three in this series. The first two follow the same MC’s and this one had different MC’s, but is interrelated.
Oh and I so want the death club t-shirt!!!
I think the shirt should have Manny swooning.
I was sleeping… and all of the sudden people were just whispering at me and at each other in my dreams… creepy. 😉
Maryse, whisper to R about WiR.
Bev. Whisper to Maryse’s about Murder of Crows.
Tesaa, I’m afraid my whispers have no power.
But your name is now Tesaa.
Tessa. Whisper to Fabi about Court of Thorns and Roses.
*whispers *
Amy
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p8MEYGX_J4w
*whispers*Fabi. Court of Thorn and Roses is good.
I going to give Court of Thorns and Roses a shot. If it’s as good as Throne of Glass then I’ll be happy!
FLT part 2:
‘Every single part of Cyrene Strohm’s body ached.’
The Bound by KA Linde
Yep. On to book 2.
Yeah! You’ll like it MichelleS.
I know I’ve mentioned liking this show before, but listening to this episode on commute. It is making me smile & laugh. Trying to not be the weirdo laughing to themselves. Plus it is in the season.
https://www.npr.org/sections/monkeysee/2016/10/28/499477505/pop-culture-happy-hour-halloween-with-mallory-ortberg-and-audie-cornish
I’m really liking it so far, just having a hard time finding time to read!
All I can see if Quintessentially Q (Monsters in the Dark Part 2) has laid me out on the floor. I think I’m almost done with it (I can’t tell cuz I got the box set of 3, and I don’t know for sure where 2 ends and 3 begins), and I am an anxious mess. Good gawd, I love reading!!!
Maryse, that’s sweet to say, especially when I’m being silly.
Lisa, lol. That’s awesome.
Lisa, I’ve had Monsters in the Dark on my TBR forever! Ive got to “dust” that series off soon. Although I might be a little scardies since its making you anxious.
