IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER THROWBACK THURSDAY & as you can see, this one is football themed. From my not realizing when the Super Bowl was, to me reading a book about a football star, and the very fact that the Super Bowl is on its way, I think this fits perfectly!
bev: I didn’t know you were a football fan?? Or does football equal reading on the couch while he watches next to you?
Maryse: You got it bev. 😉 I read. Tee hee!! But snuggled under a blankie together was good enough for me!
There’s been plenty of book fun, on this day, January 29th since the start of my blog, and here is a lookback blast from our book past!
And if you see a feature that I used to include, that you wish I’d bring back, let me know!
Reader Favorites – Rochelle’s Top Books of 2019 List – JANUARY 29, 2020
Rochelle: My list is different this year. So many times I started a book and couldn’t get past the first 3 or 4 chapters. I feel like a book is like a good wine. Life is too short for bad wine and for a poorly written book. I hate that I am now so picky. That is why I rely on you all for my inspiration. I absolutely hate cliff hangers. When we devour many books, it is almost impossible for me to come back and remember the details of the next book in a series many months or years later. I am patient and I can wait the year or two or three until the entire series is out.
Book Review – Mists of The Serengeti by Leylah Attar – JANUARY 29, 2017
Maryse: Ohhhhhhh… you guys, you guys, you guyssssssss!!!! Just you wait and see. You’re TOTALLY going to get where I’m coming from with this. From start to finish, it was reading perfection. No stone left unturned. Right to the very end of the epilogue… it all comes full circle. Magnificently so.
Lori: OMG. Leylah is my new favorite author. This book. What you said and so much more. I couldn’t put it down because it kept calling me to pick it back up. I loved it. I’ve loved all of her books. <3
Grey: So… funny story. I purposely didn’t read this review until after I read the book. Which I just finished, because I hate to read spoilers. And why is funny, do you ask? Because I literally highlighted every single passage that you quoted in your review. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
Wow, when you said, that Grey had to read this one… you were so right. Maryse, you, me and Amy… we tend to be right along the same track most of the time… LOL! I’m finishing my review now… but I’m with you, so with you.
Author and Book News Roundup – January 29th 2017 – JANUARY 29, 2017 <– BACK WHEN I THOUGHT the Super Bowl was that day!! LOL! I kind of wish I had left that part up in my post (*sigh* I deleted it) ’cause it’s funny to laugh about it. But there were some funny comments!!
Cheryl: Uh, Maryse Superbowl sunday is February 5th. 😉
Maryse: Oh. LOL!!!!!!!!! Can you believe I have NO clue when the Superbowl is? Preposterous!!!!!! *snort* 😛
Cheryl: It did make me think- OMG the Superbowl is today- How did I forget that??!! LOL
MichelleS: Super Bowl is NOT today. Next Sunday – in Houston. Patriots vs Falcons. Go Falcons! Yes, I’m a football fan!!!
Book Review – The Baller by Vi Keeland – JANUARY 29, 2016
Maryse: Another fun read by author Vi Keeland, and I just realized I’m starting to rack up a nice little review repertoire of her books. I’m noticing that she’s one of my favorites and it’s so easy to see why.
In fact, this book was #1 in ALL of Kindle books on Amazon, and made the NYT Best Seller’s list and the USA TODAY Best Sellers list. That’s not for nothing. 😉
Book Review – Still Missing by Chevy Stevens – JANUARY 29, 2015
Maryse: …I would HIGHLY recommend it. IT IS AMAZING! Scary, devastating, relieving, and terrifying. Not necessarily in that order, and it goes back and forth and back again. LOVED IT!
4.5 stars EASILY! I’d say 5 stars because of the quality of the writing and the incredible story telling, but just that ending… holds me back. Oh, it’s complete, so no worries there… just too suddenly over for the feel of the book as a whole.
Kelsie: I loved this one!! Her latest book, That Night, is just as fantastic!!! If you love crazy twists and turns, you won’t be able to put it down!
Elizabeth: Great review and book!
Helen: I read this book a long time ago and I loved it!!
Nicole Reed – Forever Inked Series Reading Order – JANUARY 29, 2015
Sharleen: Ohhhh….just finished Beautiful Ink yesterday….soooo good!!!
Kirsten: Beautiful Ink by Nicole Reed… fantastic. Loved every minute of it and fell hard for one of the characters.
Jaime: I read beautiful ink in one sitting almost all last night! It was really good. I would have liked a bit more character development with one character, but overall a great book. I was hooked on the story and as painful as it was to read some of it I just had to know how it ended!
Younger Man, Older Woman Romance Book List – JANUARY 29, 2014
Minha: I love this cougar list, thank you Maryse!!!
Anita: Thank you for this!! This is one of my favorite romance tropes!
Sandy: wow i was just thinking the other day i would like to read more books about older women with younger guys, and hey not just because i’m an older woman LOL… thanks for this list i see several that i have not read 🙂
Book Review – Marked by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast – JANUARY 29, 2011
Jenn: I love this series. I have read the series of few times. Marked was the slowest one of the books. They start to pick up after you get thru Marked. I love them all. Each time I finish one I have to hurry up and pick up the next one. They are addicting.
Sarah: I’m only on hunted but i just can not put these books down! i get in trouble at school for reading while the teacher is talking! i love these books! so if you haven’t read these books READ THEM! 😛
Zowie: I just finnished destined and im freaking out!! i NEED hidden to come out asap 😀 This is the best series ever!! I got a detention once because i was always reading these books and never doing work 😛 I LOVE THE HOUSE OF NIGHT SERIES!!!! <3 my favorite character is Zoey, not just because we have the same name (diff spelling oh well 😛 sounds the same) but because shes a strong person and believes in herself and her friends alot 😀 i wish this series would NEVER end. 🙂
