It was primarily a werewolf book, even though other paranormal beings were included too…some vamps, etc. There wasn’t really anything too surprising in it, but I felt like it was well done. It was chock full of violence and sex …hence the “adult” classification…a super fun read!

Good morning! Just wanted to pop in before I get back to proofing. I’ve got my eyes on The Island. After loving Castle of Water, I’m definitely in the mood for another castaway read! I need to check out the Amazon first books, but The Puzzle of You is looking good.
I’m currently listening to The Boston Girl and am really enjoying it. I absolutely adore Linda Lavin’s narration!
I can’t believe it’s October! 🎃🧛♂️🧟👻💀
I think I’m going to listen to audiobooks every morning for an hour as I get my day started. I’d love to get “used” to having a story told to me, and I think in little bites like that, it just might work. I have amassed quite a few audiobooks from when they were on sale, so it’s time. 😀
Ooo that paranormal section! 👌 I got my sample of The Shape of Night and Full Throttle. Now to check out First Reads.
Isn’t it INCREDIBLE Tasha???? That’s my favorite section today. I want to read everything I highlighted.
Ok, I got Under Lying. But I had to play eenie meenie with Room to Breathe. And ultimately let my 5 year old pick. I said, this one is about crazy people and this one is about a Mom and Daughter who love each other. Naturally he likes the crazy.
I like his style!!!!!! Mine was between the one I chose and Under Lying. 😉
Happy release day, ladies!! (I feel like I haven’t said that in forever ;)) Aaaaaand…
My favorite month! Pumpkin spice, hot cider, apple picking, sweaters, turning leaves, and HALLOWEEN!!!
I finished Aurora Terminus, and it was good! Now I can’t decide whether to read Inhale, Exhale or Serenading Heartbreak. I was going to start SH, but the blurb of I,E (especially the last two lines)…*oomph!* Help me out here….has anyone read either one? Otherwise I’m going with True Love Story by Willow Aster, and y’all know what that kind of book does to me. 🤨
I love this fall October picture thingie. It doesn’t look like that (or feel like that here yet) but I LOVE IT!!!
Read SH. Really good. Hard to make you care about 3 different characters and root for them. Like her writing
Maryse…I’m finally replying to your comment from *counts on fingers* two, three posts ago? Because I’m a slacking friend like that. *covers face in shame*
What do you think of Where the Blame Lies and Park Avenue Player? Both look tempting, especially being from familiar authors. At least, I think those are two of the three you’re reading…
I found a thriller of sorts, and even though those aren’t my go-to books, I’m a sucker for storylines where someone seemingly innocent moves in with the “ideal” family and things go downhill for everyone. 😈 And for 1.99 there’s not much to lose! It’s The Perfect Nanny by Leila Slimani.
Wait, I just read yesterday’s post and…PAP is about to make you ugly cry?! Oh man…CLICK!
Where the Blame Lies… I like it, (the past parts… scary) but am not so into the police procedurals…
LOL!! So I put it on hold (i’m 60% through so I’ll will finish it) but I was in the mood for this HUGE TWIST everyone was talking about in PAP and YEP!!! I didn’t see that coming at all. So it was the right one for me to pick up.
SQUEEEEE!!
And yes, it has some sad parts for sure.
Oooooh The Perfect Nanny!! I love books with a proper psychopath or sociopath in it. 😉
Just finished- Park Avenue Player. I’ve read most of the books by Keeland and Ward and while I know I’m going to get a good story, this was so unexpected. Wow! Definitely the best by this writing duo.
I also wanted to mention a book that I picked up at my library, have not heard anyone mention this and it’s a new to me author- Mahairi McFarland’s Don’t You Forget About Me. Definitely file this under British rom-com. If you love the Bridget Jones character, this is one to add to your list. I feel like I’d group this with One Day in December and The Flatshare which have been two books I have loved this year.
Oh YAY Jackie!! I’ll add your recommendations to Friday’s list, and I’m writing my review for Park Avenue Player as we speak. 😀
It’s spring here! Beautiful, mild sunny day today. I’m going to go for a walk along the riverbank near where we live later today. Lots of beautiful birds in the gum trees. Last time I walked there I saw a kangaroo hopping through the bush. They’re not that common this close to town, but you see them there sometimes.
Another fab list, Maryse. Ninth House looks super creepy *shudders* I don’t usually read horror, but…. I might check that one out. I will look at The Play when it’s out too.
Oh I love spring time too. Anything somewhat breezier and cooler makes me happy. I go on huge herb garden/mini garden planting sprees when spring is in the air. It’s my happy time.
Wishing I could read The Island all over again for the first time!! Park Avenue Player was delicious and unexpected!! Castle of Water is a hard one for me to forget.
Castaway/survival books are my favorite (totally my catnip) so I’m starting The Island next. I also one-clicked Castle of Water. YAY ME!!!
See You Never is another stranded on an island theme I just read too and absolutely loved!! Thank you to whoever had recommended this little pretty gem.
HEY YOU GUYS!!! Meagan Brandy’s “Reign of Brayshaw” is LIVE!!! Trilogy conclusion, and Tasha J can finally stop punching the air over that last cliffhanger, and have relief.
LOL!!! 😛
I posted it right at the top of this post.
Good Morning!
Hope you all have a great day.
Did I see an Amy streak by?
The Island is really good! Definitely a must read. It somehow feels different even though there are other “lost on a deserted island” stories.
Nancy!!! Oh my goodness, I finished reading The Island by Daya Daniels and Holy Bananas this is one of my top top reads of the year! It was so so good. It was my day off from work yesterday and I sat on my couch and read the entire book. I’m so glad this was recommended!
