Monday Early Bird Book Releases – 09-21-2020

HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!!! A brand new early-birds list with almost 30 new releases (including one from Karina Halle – total blurb jolt!!) and one from A.L. Jackson, Raine Miller, Sarah Brianne (latest in the Made Men series!!), plus a whole bunch more that I highlighted below. 😀

THREE THINGS:

1.) This WHOLE weekend has been about landscaping for me, and repotting overgrown plants into beautiful HUGE pots, and buying new decorative plants and I’ve been indulging my “gardening side” again. Though not veggies. ALL pretty trees and plants. I think I’m trying to recreate a rainforest in my yard.

2.) Friday night/Saturday morning? I dreamed I was eating bananas and someone asked me if bananas were Keto, ’cause I was on my third one and I panicked remembering that these were forbidden fruit! I woke up and chuckled… a bit relieved that I had indeed NOT eaten three bananas. And then I went shopping for outdoor plants, and I bought a beautiful one with big huge leaves (green and burgundy) called “Musa” and listed simply as decorative foliage, 6 hours full sun. Perfect! Guess what I found out once I got it home? It’s a banana tree. 🤨

3.) The next night (last night) I dreamed about a cute one-eyed kitten (like literally a cyclops kitten with the one eye right in the middle of its forehead). It followed me around and I decided to adopt it, even though I was a bit freaked out by it at first. Today, in real life, I went to a plant nursery, and a cat followed me around the whole time. Stayed by my side, and stopped when I stopped to look at stuff. Mind you,  it was not a cyclops cat, but still. I haven’t interacted or even seen a cat in a year or two, so this was pretty freaky. 😉

Ooo Dominic (Made Men) sounds good!! I remember reading and loving Nero. I can’t believe there are 8 in this series now! Has it really been that long?

I love reading about your dreams Maryse. It’s just too coincidental. Maybe you were meant to take the kitty home? Or eat a banana? Now you can supply your neighbors with them. 🤣😂

LOL!!!! I did love that sweet cat. One of those angry meowers, ya know? He sounds angry, but he really wants to snuggle and be friends.

I kind of miss him!

So, I know Tessa said she doesn’t like to comment much anymore, but perhaps she’s out there? I miss you! And Leslie, I feel like she hasn’t checked in in a while. It looks like my town will be ok, but thought we might have to evacuate for awhile. This makes us very lucky. So much destruction on the west coast right now.
Any book friends in the west i hope you are all doing well and are safe.

Hi Maryse,
Birthright by Shay Savage looks really good!
It reminded me how much I enjoyed her other book, Surviving Raine. It’s the one about the adventures of a grumpy schooner captain and Raine, a young woman, following their boat sinking in the Caribbean Seas. 🌴

I just got a new Grace Burrowes historical romance rolling onto my kindle today. My Heart’s True Delight. It’s the latest in her True Gentlemen series, but could probably be read as a standalone. Another preorder I’d forgotten about LOL. But I like her books. Often they’re nice low key gentle romances about characters you can like and respect. Consistently enjoyable books. They have beautiful covers too.

My current read is a spy themed historical romance called Beauty Like The Night by Joanna Bourne. I’m enjoying it.

Started reading The One That Got Away last night. Slow start and so far I don’t like the h too much which makes it hard to get invested in the story, It’s also a story that stretches over YEARS, which I am not a fan of. We’ll see.

Reading about your dreams Maryse reminds me of my latest read – The Ravenhood Duet by Kate Stewart. The heroine has the most explicit dreams as well. I know you have read severel Kate Stewart books, and you really have to read this one.
IT HAS RUINED ME FOR ANY FUTURE BOOKS
I have read so many of her books – Drive and Heartbreak Warfare have been my favorites so far. But this one tops everything she has ever written. I finished it last night, and don’t know how I will be able to start another book – I just want to stay in Triple Falls and in Cecilias life.
I could quote the entire book, but this one stood out:
“I do what thieves do, I stole you”.
5 stars are not nearly enough.

You guys are all KILLING me with your love for that duet, and I LOVE that author. I just need to get into the darker mode for this one, I think.
