SHE’S A VAMPIRE & SHE GETS KIDNAPPED!!! But they’re in for some trouble. Tee hee! 😋 Slayed by Darkness: A Guardians of Eternity Novella IS LIVE and it can be read as a standalone (though so many LOVE the entire series!!) 😀
The author says:
What happens when an assassin crosses paths with a mercenary? Sparks fly!
And to celebrate this release, Alexandra Ivy (as well as her publisher, 1,001 Dark Nights Press) are sponsoring today’s newsletter! We have a fun tidbit about Alexandra (below) that is TOTALLY my thing & we’re also having a giveaway!
So what’s it about?
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Alexandra Ivy comes a new story in her Guardians of Eternity series…
Only an idiot would try to kidnap Jayla. She’s a take-no-prisoner kind of vampire who rebelled against the previous King of Vampires, and now regularly battles with both human and demon enemies who resent the success of Dreamscape casino she manages in Hong Kong. So when she’s snatched off the streets, she doesn’t bother to struggle. Instead she starts plotting her slow, bloody revenge.
The last creature she expects when she arrives at her destination is Azrael, the mysterious mercenary vampire she killed a century ago.
Azrael has never forgotten Jayla, and not just because she tried to stab a stake through his heart. He’d never encountered a female who could match him in battle. Her raw courage was sexy as hell. And it didn’t hurt that she was drop-dead gorgeous. But, he didn’t abduct her because he desired her. Or at least, that wasn’t his main motivation. He needs her rare talent to stop time. An evil fey has stolen his sword. The weapon is magically bound to him, and unless he retrieves it, he’s doomed to a painful death.
**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**
And here’s a teaser direct from the author’s Facebook page:
“It is Hong Kong,” he breathed in appreciation.A tall, dark-haired male with fine, devilish features glanced down, his brown eyes filled with confusion. “I told you that was where we were going.”“Oui, but you also told me that we were going to Monaco for a bachelor party for Basq and I ended up alone on a desert island. If a sylph hadn’t floated past I might still be stuck there,” Levet complained. The vampire smoothed a hand down the silver jacket of his custom-tailored suit that he’d matched with a black silk shirt and gray tie.“I would never be that lucky,” he murmured in dry tones.
And here’s a fun “personal” tidbit about Alexandra Ivy herself (and one that indulge myself in regularly!!)
Q: I love that you write in multiple genres. What are some of your favorite genres to read when you aren’t writing?
A: I’m a huge fantasy geek. N.K. Jemisin, Robin Hobb, Robert Jordan, George R.R. Martin and David Eddings. There’s nothing better than retreating to a hot bubble bath and escaping with a huge new world filled with the conflict between good and evil. Ah. Paradise.
Bubble baths and reading = perfection!! 😀
