Darkness Revealed (Guardians of Eternity Book 4)
Here is another vampire book that just didn’t thrill me. I’ve hit two in a row, and I can’t wait to get excited and swoon over a vampire again. I miss the vampires that took MY breath away. I mean…literally just made me gasp, because of what they said, something they did, a heartbreaking moment that was so perfectly detailed that I couldn’t help but feel it.

It appeared as if all of the elements were there. There was danger, a past “hurt” to overcome, a future to decide upon (that could ruin everything, love-wise), a reluctant heroine, and an immediately in-love alpha-hero vampire. I guess he said all the right things, because the author told me, in so many words, that the heroine was swept away, but I just… wasn’t. There was something missing. read more

Wow, Styx… I must really ♥heart♥ you to delay starting J.R. Ward’s “Lover Unleashed” just so I can catch up with your review. Yup, it’s true. I either have the best discipline ever, or just love making myself suffer (although to be honest, reliving your book is not suffering at all 😉 ).

The latest Black Dagger Brotherhood book was released today, and after work, I raced home to read it. Just as I was about to start, the guilt hit, and I said – WHOA Maryse!! You can’t be rude to Styx. He entertained you and made you swoon for three days straight, and you’re about to dump him for for some new BDB hunk! read more

Book Review – Embrace The Darkness by Alexandra Ivy

Embrace the Darkness (Guardians of Eternity Book 2)
Hrmmm. Installment #2 in the Guardians of Eternity series had me at “vampire with long silver hair” but I quickly realized I was putting it down too much to ever become fully involved with the main couple. And that was the problem. I could easily put it down. I liked it, (overall, good story!) but I was never fully consumed with it.

While I got a kick out of Viper and his non-conventional methods of “getting something out of his system”, I…I don’t know. Let’s blame it on the supermoon 😉 That, a full “over-work” week, and I was too easily distracted. Viper and Shay just didn’t manage to hold me. read more

When Darkness Comes (Guardians of Eternity Book 1)
Well, well, well… I had no idea the “Guardians” were full-fledged vampires. Not that I wouldn’t have read the series eventually, but upon the very high recommendations from fellow readers (and Sherry’s super generosity), my reading time for the next couple of weeks has been filled.

These are old-school vampires, folks. Can’t see their own reflection, have no recollection of their human lives, have mind control, super speed  strength, oh and, they are inhumanely gorgeous. All of ’em (at least from what I can tell so far). Don’t be fooled, however. Just because they are vampires (which makes them, essentially “demon”), they do have the ability to choose between good and evil, and recognize the “good or bad” in others around them.
