I’ve just started doing this recently (adding these older but awesome finds) to a few of our weekly posts, but since I don’t have anything official today, I thought I’d just dedicate a post to this “section” altogether. 🙂 Especially since we have many new readers that might not have been here when we were squeeing over these books a few years ago. These books and lists are still awesome!
Mostly, it will showcase my favorite reviews, and/or lists or funny posts “on this exact day… so many years ago”.
But no matter what, what you see here, will definitely be my (or our) adamant book recommendations!
Leslie M: Maryse, I love how you started “blast from the past” thing. It’s so cool to see all the “oldies but goodies”
be: Whoa. Time flies.
Maryse: Right??? I think it will be fun to include “flash backs” in a few of the weekly posts. 😉
Michele G: I really liked it!
Jan: Yes. What a fun idea. And wow, is it really 4 years since The Hating Game?
Mony: Would love it if you included flashbacks!
Cait: Ahh I’m loving you going over the oldies!!
Annette: Love the blast from the past concept. So many books that I might have missed. (Or just want to remember again).
Maryse: *claps with glee* 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Good!! Then I will continue. There are a lot of new readers here too, and they may not have seen all of our old antics and favorites yet… 🙂
So here goes… today’s latest “Blast from our Book Past” posts:
- 4 years ago today, I reviewed this forbidden one that took me WAY out of my comfort zone!! Book Review – All the Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood
- 7 years ago today I went crazy for this one!! Super HOT! Book Review – Exposure by Iris Blaire
- 8 years ago today I laughed my butt off with this one! Book Review – Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec
Sali: Omg I remember when we all discovered S & S! Still to this day, I’ve never laughed as much at any other book.
Maryse: YESSS!! It was all of us together reading this. I remember reading this in the dark on the way home one night (I was the passenger and I had a little light) and giggling non stop
Sali: Tara definitely took rom com to a whole new level for me. I still giggle thinking of that book! …I think it’s time for a reread!
Tara Sivec: OMG this is the best!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Kim: I’ll never forget when I read this I was howling! I legit had tears running down my face. Still to this day the funniest series I’ve ever read
Lena: Such a funny and good book!
Do you have a blast from today’s past that stands out?
7 years ago I read Reason to Breathe (Breathing series) by Rebecca Donovan. Holy pretzel tummy and angst-fest! This was sooooo good but very emotional and a difficult read as the h is severely abused.
Leslie M, I agree, I loved this series also. Yes, full of angst but emotionally satisfying at the end.
Me too!!! LOVED IT. I remember reading that awful last line of book #1 while in the tub and panicking!
Maryse, I love your site, I remember when you had the number of members “clock” up in the top right hand-corner. So many wonderful books you have reviewed and have given me satisfaction over these many years. One book that stays with me, though I have not re-read it, is The Boy Who Sneaks In My Bedroom Window by Kirsty Moseley. Again, angst filled due to the abuse that the h has encountered.
Do you know that I haven’t even read that one yet, Sarah??!! And you just reminded me that I’m dying to!!! I’m pulling it back up to the top of my Kindle.
P.S. WOW!! I remember that clock. That was in my very first blog design… whoa. Now THAT is a blast from the past!!!!!
This is fun!!. I’m not at home so can’t really look up any today!! But I’ll just throw out Comfort Food! My first really naughty book that you convinced me to read!!
I read and loved Freya North’s The Turning Point way back in 2015 or 2016. That one made my heart hurt, and wow, I can still feel it. It really packed an emotional punch. I haven’t reread, but one day I’ll work up the courage and give it another read. I can’t believe it was that long ago though. *shakes head*
