Wareesha just asked me if there were any books along this trope (and I LOVE this!!) Nothing better than someone with a big bad-ass secret about her bad-assedness trying to “live a normal life”. <— Tee hee!! π All sorts of things come into play here.
Wareesha: I was just wondering if you know of any book where there is a female assassin or like spy or something along those lines, and she has to integrate herself into a normal suburbia life style..
Honestly, I was just thinking about the movie Keeping Up With the Jonesβs and then I was watching The Expendables the other day and it just came up!!!
Anyone have any recommendations for her (and us)?
Maryse: Right off the bat, one of my favorite books doesn’t exactly involve a spy or assassin, but she’s definitely a bad-ass vigilante (and… maybe a sociopath to boot π ) and she’s about to make someone’s life very difficult… all while playing the whole “innocent office girl” act (and trying to live a “normal” life in the meantime). SO MUCH FUN!!!! It’s Jane Doe: A Novel (A Jane Doe Thriller) by Victoria Helen Stone. P.S. Here’s my 4.5 STAR Book Review.
Erin: I just finished βJane Doeβ By Victoria Stone and Jane is awesome. She might be a sociopath but I loved her boldness and take-no-BS attitude. She had me cracking up at her balls and inner monologue.
Shirley: listened to Jane Doe a few weeks ago and loved it. It is SO GOOD! I really like the Narrator.Β I Love Audible and I didnβt think I would. I am officially going to become a member after my free trial has expired.Β Thank you Maryse!
Jean: just finished Jane Doe by Victoria Helen Stoneβ¦β¦what a crazy ride to be in the head of a sociopath. Great story though!!
Carin: Mindf@cked series by S.T. Abby Β is told from the view of a female serial killer ( thereβs a good reason though). It was excellent. BTW, this author js actually CM Owens!
Anima: The Silencer by RC Boldt, a little like that.
Cassandra: Fortune Series Jana Deleon
Carolyn: Yes! Killing November by Adriana Mather is one of my favs in this area.
Sara: Jack & Jill series by Jewel E. Ann
Michelle: same! Such a great series!
Donna: me 3
Katie: was going to suggest this also
Pixie: I just read the Jack and Jill series by Jewel E. Ann, I know – where have I been – and I loved all the men from Jude/Jack to Luke, the grumpy Sgt Maj and even his son. Highly recommend.
MichelleS: read Jack and Jill series. You will NOT be disappointed. …My absolute favorite Jewel E Ann series ever. In case you donβt know what to read next.
Kyla Linde: Jillian Dodd’s Spy Girl series is like this but she falls into high society rather than normal life.
Robyn:
No Mercy series byΒ Lea Griffith
Robyn: Finished book 3 of Lea Griffithβs No Mercy series so I am ready for book 4, Kiss Of The Blade to come out. Which should be anytime now. Gosh, I love these books. Iβve reread them tons of times and they never get old.
Jennifer: Remy in Bullet to the Heartβ¦.she is an assassin. This is part of the No Mercy series by Lea Griffith. All the books are about a team of female assassins. Canβt recommend them enoughβ¦strong female characters. …I love badass heroines!
Georgia: Totally agree with Jennifer, the Leah Griffith series β No mercy is an amazing series with female assassins.
In The Company of Killers by JA Redmerski
Meagan: I really loved killing saraiβ in the company of killers series by jm. Redmarski! She starts off a victim but her evolution to a badass strong woman is amazing and the romance is hot!
Robyn: Iβm rereading JA Redmerskiβs In the Company of Killers series. I am so in love with these books even though Iβve read them so many times. There is just something about assassins and their mates that hook me. I love this trope! We should make a list Maryse!
Maryse: Oh!! And here’s another one I just read and enjoyed! Again… a group of women well known in their high society social circles but behind the scenes they are vigilantes. π You Are Not Alone: A Novel by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen (and here’s my book review)
Christy: A funny, more light hearted version is the Merry Wrath series.
Natasha: Catherine Bybeeβs new Richter series. Itβs
Gauri: Happily Ever Ninja by Penny Reid?
Cat: Happily Ever Ninja was such a delight that I canβt even describe how much I liked it, … (AHHH!!) Really, thereβs a FEELING to it that really gets you.
Elizabeth: Reading Happily Ever Ninja right now and LOVE it! I couldnβt wait for this to come out, especially after reading Ninja at First Sight. Totally fell in love with Greg. All the feels in this book!
Sandra: Ninja at First Sight by Penny Reid has been out for a while. It is the prequel to Happily Ever Ninja
Laura: This list isnβt complete without mentioning A. A. Darkβs Anna Monroe series; the first book is Mad Girl. Anna Monroeβs story crosses over with Darkβs character, Boston Marks, from Never Far. Never Farβs grim storyline sat with me a lot longer than I wanted it to. Both characters will appeal to readers who enjoy twisted tales about serial killers.
Wareesha:Β Hi again!Β Thank you so much!!!!! Oh my god I love all of these!!!!!!! Gahhhh I hate when there are so many to choose from! Iβve actually read a few of these books and absolutely loved them! Β Also, thanks again for your help,Β I really appreciate it!Β Have a beautifulΒ dayΒ β€οΈΒ
World of Assassins (Female Assassins)Β by M. NeverΒ
M. Never: A reader told me you were looking for book recs with female assassins. I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know about my world of assassins series. All three novels are standalones each with their own unique femme fatale.Β All three novels have dark themes, action and adventure and intense romance.

Happily ever Ninja by Penny Reid
Hey Maryse, I’m looking for a certain mc book but can’t remember the title. It’s about a woman who was brought up an assassin called silent night. She falls in love with a biker who ends up shot and she goes back to being silent night by cutting off her emotions. There is more to it but it’s been a while. Do you have any idea what the book is called? Thanks.
I found it. It’s called Owning Victoria. Thanks anyways.
YAY!! Thank you for letting us know!! One more to read. π
The whole series is epic! Enjoy.
