Every Day by David Levithan <— I came across this older-but-still-so-relevant recommendation AND HOLY MOLY BLURB JOLT ALERT!! I just had to bring it back to the forefront in case you haven’t read it (and because I haven’t read it yet, either!). I mean, but that blurb says SOOOO MUCH to me. Have I already watched the movie version of this??
Jen C: Every Day by David Levithan…! I’ve had that one on my wishlist FOREVER!
Sadie says:
Maryse –
I have no idea if this book will be your cup of tea BUT when a book is recommended by the author trifecta – Tarryn Fisher, Colleen Hoover, Karina Halle – I’m on it. Saw this one recommended by each of them on GR/FB and I had to check it out.
This book is OUT THERE (just read the blurb).
“Every day a different body. Every day a different life. Every day in love with the same girl.
There’s never any warning about where it will be or who it will be. A has made peace with that, even established guidelines by which to live: Never get too attached. Avoid being noticed. Do not interfere.
It’s all fine until the morning that A wakes up in the body of Justin and meets Justin’s girlfriend, Rhiannon. From that moment, the rules by which A has been living no longer apply. Because finally A has found someone he wants to be with—day in, day out, day after day...”
It’s…unique. Refreshing. I don’t think it’s perfect; it offers more questions than answers, but it made me think and my heart ache.
I hesitated even sending it to you because it’s not a romance but when three of our favorite authors recommended it, I had to check it out.
A book about a genderless main character who wakes up in different bodies every day? I didn’t know I would connect to the story but I did. I saw people were asking about the end and I don’t want to ruin anything for you or anyone else. I’ll say it’s somewhat open ended. Leaves you questioning, thinking. 🙂
Maybe you’ve already read it! Just thought I’d pass it along because I’m sure this one won’t leave me for a while. 🙂
AND YOU KNOW WHAT MAKES THIS EVEN BETTER??? There are THREE books now, and the trilogy is complete! So all of that thinking and those questions book one created, might just be answered. 😉
