Playboy Pilot
Another fun and steamy love story from two of our favorite, tried and true (and much loved) authors! That blurb absolutely had me (promising jealousy and drama!) and I couldn’t resist jumping right into it, and feeling it for myself!
Those looking for the whole romance shebang can find it here. From the fun “meet cute” to the silly nicknames, (*ahem* “Perky” <— tee hee!!), to the hero’s funny and endearing antics, to that slightly angsty reveal, it’s got everything you need for an afternoon of swoon!
Debra: Beautiful read. When so many romances run together, this one stands out.
Cheryl:Β I started Playboy Pilot. Have to say so far itβs well-written, and the h and H have been open and honest about their thoughts, feelings and baggage. No secrets or lack of communication or mind games. Heβs not a broody male. Of course all of these are thus far. Canβt wait to see where this one goes.
Agreed Cheryl! Both characters were open, and fun, and experienced so much together as friends, before things got steamy. No game playing, just honesty the whole way through. I appreciated that. This was more insta-crush, for me, than insta-love, and I loved that they “dated” on the fly. <— LOL!! See what I did there? *snort*
Their romance was allowed to build naturally, as they experienced and bonded over some bumps together (and how could it not, with a hero like Carter by her side)? *swoon*
It was a journey in all respects (considering the hero and heroine couldn’t bear to part after meeting) and she followed him around the world for a few days, learning that there was a lot more depth to him, than the cocky player everyone else (aka: airline stewardesses), knew him as.
βYouβre a pig, arenβt you?β
βPerky, you have no idea. Iβve been holding back, trying to be a gentleman since you seem a little more refined than Iβm used to.β
She also learned about herself as she contemplated an impending contract that could drastically change her life.
So what’s it about?
Kendall and Carter meet in an airport bar one day, as she’s contemplating exactly where she wants to up-and-fly to. She wants to be anywhere but here, running away from a difficult decision that she needs to make.
Sexy “Carter” (aka “Trip”) takes it upon himself to help her out with a few suggestions. Equally charmed and annoyed by him, she decides to take his advice and fly to Rio. But when she boards her plane, she realizes HE’S the pilot!
And when Carter sees she took his advice (and basically followed him there – although at first, unknowingly), he makes it his mission to keep her near…
βPerkyβ¦ you didnβt follow me all the way to Brazil only to leave me now.”
…and get to know her better.
βThatβs not really an appropriate thing to say to a woman you just met, you know.β
βWe didnβt just meet. This is our third date.β
βThird date?β
βI bought you dinner in an elegant restaurant for our first one and took you up for a plane ride for our second one. Those were damn good dates. Some women would kill for that kind of lavishness. Seems fitting date three we should be heading to a hotel.β He winked.
I wasnβt sure if it was the time change, my being tired from restless sleep on the plane, or if it was possible this man could sayΒ anythingΒ and I wouldnβt be offended.Β Why am I not offended?
Let the fun begin!! π
Er… I should also say a scary moment (YIKES – I couldn’t put it down at this part, I was so nervous!!)
Scared didnβt begin to describe how I felt.
and certain angst (of the OH. NOOOOO!!! kind), too.
I just knew when it ended, I was going to be devastated.
A good, easy read that will take you on an emotional journey of highs and lows, but that will always keep you grounded as Carter captures your heart!
4 stars!
