I was all… NO BUTTERFLYING WAY!!!!
I AM FLOORED. I have never been so happy to be Slammed!!!
I…. there are no words, Colleen. I swear it, I can’t even believe this. I’m so touched and… WOW. Do you even know how HUGE this is?
I just had to share it with you guys. Here it is:
“Next up, Will Cooper,” the emcee says.
I lean over to Lake and give her a quick kiss before heading to the stage. She grazes the side of my face with her fingers and smiles at me. “Do her justice, Husband,” she says.
I take the stage and walk into the spotlight, staring out over the vast crowd in front of me. My stomach tenses when it sinks in just how much bigger this venue is than Club N9NE. I’ve never performed in front of such a large crowd before. The audience is well deserved, though. They’re all here for her-for Maryse.
I grip the microphone with both hands and position it to where it feels more comfortable. It’s been a while since I’ve slammed. I feel a little bit more nervous than usual. I haven’t done one since the night I performed, “Because of you,” for Lake. That was the night I almost lost her just as fast as I had won her back. I have her now, though…and I’m never letting go again. That’s for damn sure.
I roll my shoulders to ease my tension, then I find Maryse in the crowd. I focus my gaze on her and give her a quick wink before I begin. “I borrowed this title from one of my older poems. It was an emergency. My piece is called, ‘Because of you.’”
My greatest passion is Slamming

I know. You guys. I have a lump in my freakin’ throat!!! My hands are shaking, my fingertips are cold. I am … wow. I can’t even put it into proper words.
Surprised. Elated. Touched. Amazed. Thrilled. I could go on, and still, the words would not convey properly, how I feel right now.
Sooo stinkin’ awesome! She(he) is totally right, though. You give these characters life by shining the light on them do that we can know them too. Never stop. 🙂

HOLY.FREAKIN’.CRAP!!!!!! That was AMAZING!!! I TOTALLY felt like I was sitting in the audience watching and listening!!!!! I got teary eyed and goose bumps. That is the coolest butterflying thing I have ever seen! What an amazing honor Maryse! You deserve it girl! Squeeeee! That was awesome! Ok, it’s been 30 seconds….Im going to go read it again!!!

As soon as I finished reading both books, Slammed” and Point of retreat” I bought them as an ebooks gift for my friend here in the Bahamas. She had just received an iPad, and was soo excited to have her first books to read, and I knew that those two books were perfect for her! I can’t wait for her opinion. I just know she’ll be calling me soon wanting to talk these characters to pieces!
I also hope there will be a book about Eddie! What a special special girl! What a great way she has to let her friend know that she’s there for her without snooping, and then was able to get answers to questions that we were thinking about. Dont we all like to kinda snoop into peoples windows? Eddie was nice enough to open the curtains for us! LOL.. LOVE Eddie!!

Yes, Maryse I did read Point of Retreat! Almost immediately after, too. I normally don’t like YA books, but Colleen’s are those rare gems that are so good I forget that I’m reading a YA book. I’d gladly forego steaminess for things like Slammed and POR.

Maryse that is amazing! What an honor to be slammed. I have both books and LOVE them (but don’t need to be in the drawing). I have found so many wonderful books because of you. My daughter is home for Easter and I have her reading them now.

To Nicole, yes I have read Chasing Nikki and it was amazing!!!! It was a beautiful romance with real, flawed characters that you could relate to. This book is not all “flowers and sunshine” and I think thats what makes it so good!!
