To celebrate the latest release of these two romantic suspense novels (Unhinge: A Novel by Calia Read and Never Tear Us Apart by Monica Murphy), the authors have put together a fun Q&A for us!! They have both released thrillers, and you know me ‘n thrillers. RIGHT. UP. MY. DARK. ALLEY!!! So I can’t wait to see what they have to say.

You guys will remember Calia Read from her last twisty psych-thriller romance, Unravel. That one had a few gotchas that delightfully freaked out a few of my fellow readers, here!! And Monica Murphy is one of our queens of NA, and I remember her awesomeness from all the way back when I went crazy over indie NA romance novels. In celebration of this exciting Halloween-Month (my FAVORITE, other than Christmas month!!), I’ve been featuring fun spooky book-related stuff like my two latest horror book reviews (Bird Box by Josh Malerman and The House by Christina Lauren), and I have two “Reader-Favorites” list coming out this Saturday (one of them features favorite scary books from a very famous horror-author).

You guys know I was a HUGE fan of Jessica’s first rock star book “Louder Than Love” (<— my review!! And you know what, you guys? This one is RE-READ good!!! It was so unique, because he was a hugely famous rock star that had recently retired and OMG I just loved everything about this story. She’s a librarian that hires the singer of her daughter’s favorite cartoon (but what a mess he is!! Some funny scenes here!) but over time… finds herself falling for him. Thing is… she has not yet realized that he’s an ex-famous-metal rock star that fell from grace the more popular he became. Oh there are some EXCELLENT reveals, and just some fantastic “living” in this one, you know? read more

I read Makenzie’s first book in this series, soon after it’s release (back in December 2014) ’cause that cover had my attention. Gorgeous, serene, and it looked like it could be emotionally deep. but it was the blurb that had me. And it delivered! Here’s my review.

SO when I found out she was releasing another book – also a standalone, with an equally gorgeous book cover, and an even MORE intense synopsis that TOTALLY gave me a blurb jolt, I knew I had to read it, too!! read more
