Reader Question – The book about the heroine whose friend married her crush, and the best friend dies giving birth…
Nanette asked for help on this one, and I *THINK* KNOW IT!!! There’ve been a few in the last year that have had this theme, but since I just spoke of this one in the last couple of weeks, coinciding with this reader question, I’m thinking it’s THIS particular one.
I haven’t read it (yet) ’cause it’s on pre-order, but this was one that I want to read badly.
She asks:

All I do remember is that it’s about the heroine whose best friend married her ‘crush’ and the best friend dies giving birth to her child, I think? Happy reader question day!! I just got one from Nthabeleng, and this one reminds me of a book I read not that long ago, so I’ll venture a guess but I’m somewhat doubtful that it’s the one…

What happens in the book is that a guy goes on a work trip and keeps bumping into this girl. They are instantly attracted to each other and end up spending a night together. She then realizes that he is engaged and leaves the hotel.

Another reader question that’s short and sweet, but the book sure sounds like it could pack a punch! Oh wow this one sounds angsty, too! And I definitely haven’t read it, but maybe someone here has?

Lauren: I read one about a year ago that was similar….the books begins with the hero in court, getting a divorce from his HS girlfriend & fighting for custody rights. He is upset after court so he goes for a drive & when he gets home his mom tells him his ex was killed in a car accident on her way home from court. Their daughter was at HIS parent’s house so she was OK. He then gets custody & raises her on his own….until he meets the heroine. He was a model during his marriage but after his ex-wife dies, he quits modeling & buys a bar. Does this sound like it could be the book you’re looking for? If so, I’ll look thru my library for the title & author.

Oooooh this one sounds right up my alley, and kind of sounds like “Ten Tiny Breaths” which I LOVED, but I’m pretty sure it’s not that one (’cause she’s running from her uncle).

It is about a young woman who is running from an abusive father. She sets herself up in her own apartment, which is in horrible shape. She has a couple run ins with the H. It is kind of like insta love. She spends a lot of time pushing him away. He is very persistent. The father ends up finding her at the end.
