IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER INSTALLMENT OF THROWBACK THURSDAY and what stood out to me the most in this one, was my “it’s almost the end” of the Sookie Stackhouse series news (I was… devastated since I LOVED that series like crazy and devoured every book).
So I found an fun old photo of me in a Merlotte’s t-shirt (you can see the original below) and I thought it would be fun to… re-imagine me as Sookie. Or at least, as one of her colleagues. 😉
All that to say, there’s been plenty of book fun, on this day, February 19th since the start of my blog, and here is a look back blast from our book past!
P.S. If you see a feature that I used to include, that you wish I’d bring back, let me know!
Reader Question… Solved! The book where she’s works at a summer camp & finds out a pro sports team is there… <—FEBRUARY 19, 2025
Tessa: Teardrop shot. …It starts you out laughing and yet, towards the end you’re crying, even with the HEA. Tore my heart in pieces because so much starts with that happy cute feeling then emotions start to see in. At first it’s all sad. Okay. No tears. But then the emotions really come out and I couldn’t stop feeling all the sadness. Still. HEA.
Reader Question – The book about the woman that sought refuge at the grumpy rancher’s home… <— FEBRUARY 19, 2025 and it’s still UNSOLVED!!! HELP!!
Reader Question… Solved! The book about the guy that waited until she was 18 to make his move, and he also got her a job at his office building… <— FEBRUARY 19, 2023
Metra: Life. Saver. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Maryse: YAY!!! Another one solved, and so fast, too!! Thanks guys!!! 😀
Reader Question – The book about the boys that broke into her house, and she fell and hit her head and had amnesia… <— FEBRUARY 19, 2023 & it’s still unsolved!!
Sue: This sounds so familiar. I wish I could remember it.
Book Review – In an Instant by Suzanne Redfearn <— FEBRUARY 19, 2020
Maryse: FIRST OFF!!! GO IN BLIND – not even the synopsis – if you’re okay with (and even LOVE) INTENSE, good or bad SURPRISES!!! Even skip over my review altogether and just go read it for an unforgettable story. 😉
Tasha J: Perfectly said. You have such a way with words. You’ve described all my feelings on this book, exactly.
It felt so good to finally be able to read a book with you! I’m a terrible buddy reader. I wanna do it again. Now, what’s next? 😉Nancy: I have been waiting for your review. I went into it completely blind. That way every “hit” was right to your soul! I always had trouble finding which of these books to choose. So keep posting your pick!

Guest Review (my sister!!) – Dark Rivers of the Heart by Dean Koontz <— FEBRUARY 19, 2017 – My sister 5-starred this one & it’s re-read good! She said:
I don’t read the same book twice usually… but this one I did! And even though I gave away most of my “old” books away to charity, I kept the copy of that one so my daughter can to read it because I think it is one of the most intriguing books I’ve read so far.
Author and Book News Roundup – February 19th 2017 <— FEBRUARY 19, 2017 – excellent news on this old post including a surprise sale for a super-forbidden-romance that blew up our reading world universe for a few days… or weeks while we all devoured it. It was polarizing. Some people LOVED IT… some got the ick. But holy moly we could not stop talking about it. Can you guess which one it is?
Natasha: So awesome!! A very different kind of romance.
Angela: Thanks for this!!! Been waiting for it to go on sale 😀
Claire: Loved this book <3
Sandra: This book was fantastic
Judy: This book was hard to take at times but so worth it in the end. It was a fantastic read!
Addy: I couldn’t finish it. No matter how much I tried to be open minded…
Reader Question… Solved! The book where the wife dies and comes back reincarnated as a straight man… <— FEBRUARY 19, 2015
“You’ll Never Believe…” with Meghan March + Signed Book Giveaway! <— FEBRUARY 19, 2015 & here’s a teaser of the story she tells us in this post…
She says:
“...I was at an outdoor, all day concert—country, because I’m a HUGE fan. You can like it or hate it, but I’m unapologetic about the fact that I love the twang and the songs that tell stories about the loves and losses of ordinary people. I’m also a country girl, and I like to tote my shotgun out to the back forty and shoot skeet, so I came by my passion for country music pretty naturally.
Back to the concert. I saw the radio station guy cutting through the crowd so I jumped out in front of him and stopped him.
“Do you have any backstage passes?” I’d asked…”

Book Review – Time Stands Still by Lori Otto <— FEBRUARY 19, 2013
Audrey: Maryse! I have been waiting for you to continue reading the Emi series and I’m so glad you finally did!! Its my favorite series, ever! I totally agree with your review, just couldn’t put it to words like you could. But oh boy did I feel all those things! My heart hurt so bad and so good and I felt everything in between. 5 stars for me! Those characters and their journey are now a part of me and I can’t stop thinking and re-reading ever since I finished the series last month. I need a Jack of my own! Please read book 3 ASAP. Everybody needs to read this series, it will change your forever, in a good way of course. 🙂
Sadie: Yay!!! I am so happy you loved book 2 because I think this series will go down as an all-time reader favorite. It’s just…wow. And it gets better and better. I know how you feel about not wanting to wait for book 3…i read it immediately and am so glad I did!!! Will read every book by this author.
Book Review – Tempted by Megan Hart <— FEBRUARY 19, 2012
Maryse: …this one had me discombobulated, and well… unsettled. I couldn’t put it down, but how I feel about it is still up in the air. Daring, scary, exciting, uncomfortable, and it sort of drowns you, emotionally.
Jackie: I have to admit Maryse, I cringed throughout this book. It left me feeling uncomfortable. As the story unfolded and I could see where it was leading I kept urging them to walk away. Xxx
Angie: I absolutely adored this book 🙂

Quick Bit of Charlaine Harris – Sookie Stackhouse News. It’s Almost Over. <— FEBRUARY 19, 2011
Amanda Hocking – My Blood Approves Series Reading Order <— FEBRUARY 19, 2011
Barb: Love This Series!! Hoping she writes more! What a talented young writer!
Jen: Just finished the 4th book, and it is awesome!!! Very Twilightish. I wasn’t sure if I would like it, but I was hooked and read all 4 books in 4 days… if you haven’t read this series yet, I’m pretty sure you will love it.
Book Review – Dark Needs at Night’s Edge by Kresley Cole <— FEBRUARY 19, 2010
Maryse: I liked it! While it wasn’t my favorite in the series (Sebastian and Bowen’s, and even Cade’s stories are hard to beat) I did enjoy all the turmoil, angst and sexy moments, and well, I’ll be honest…the cover model portraying “Conrad” sure didn’t hurt either… 🙂
Jennifer: …so far out of this series,,I have loved this story the most…The most humorous part,,was when he was screaming at the bed sheets…according to his brothers anyway…i felt sorry sooooo sorry for conrad,,but i couldnt help but picture the image in my head,,,i had to giggle….I was like you how a ghost? vampire? come on really? but leave it to Ms. Cole,,to wident your eyes and scoot u up to edge of your seat,,to read what happens next..
