We’re bracing for Irma here in Florida,
but while it’s still calm, I’m in book-mode! Okay, yes, I’m also in prep mode, but who doesn’t have time for books? Books bring me peace especially right now. I need ’em. In fact…
I’m preparing a bunch of book-posts for the rest of the upcoming week to auto-post daily (’cause the blog server is in another state so the blog won’t be affected by the hurricane). So that means you guys can keep hanging out here, no problem at all. I probably won’t have enough electricity to make full on posts later, so that’s why I’m making them now, in advance.
AND!!! IF I’m able (with access to my cell phone), I will make little personal “hurricane updates” at the top of those daily posts to keep everyone updated. <3
P.S. bunch of books just went live, and recommendations are still coming in!
Take a look at what we found for the weekend!!
- We Own Tonight by Corinne Michaels <— LIVE!!! CORINNE MICHAELS!! HE’S FAMOUS & SHE FALLS IN LOVE WITH HIM BUT.. OH EM GEE OH NOOOOOO!! YES!!!!! I LOVE how this blurb ends (and already ripped my heart out!) Okay so… she had a one night stand with her childhood crush who is now a celebrity… “His gorgeous green eyes, rock-hard body, and cocky smile have no place in my world. My life is complicated enough. Someone forgot to tell him that. Eli is relentless. Pushing his way into my heart, wearing me down, proving he’s nothing like I assumed, and everything I need. But when my world shatters to pieces, he holds the broken bits together. Unwillingly, I fall desperately in love with him. He made me think we’d have forever . . . I should’ve listened when he said we could only own tonight.”
Kim: Next up for me!
Pitch Please (There’s No Crying in Baseball Book 1) by Lani Lynn Vale <— LIVE!!! LANI LYNN VALE’S LATEST AND HE’S A BASEBALL STAR!! HE’S A GRUMPY & OFFENSIVE & SHE JUST GOT A JOB IN A MAN’S WORLD… LOL that title makes me laugh, and that cover… 😉 Prettyyyyyyy!!! “...she’s good at her job, and she earned the position. What she is not good at, however, is talking to men. Men seem to see her curvy hips, large breasts and thick thighs and automatically think she is incompetent. Because surely a fat girl couldn’t get the job treating some of the most fit and athletic men in the world, right? Wrong. This fat girl got the job, and she is proud of it. What else did she get? The attention of the sexiest bearded man she’d ever had the pleasure of laying eyes on...”
- Hollywood Love: Book 1: A sexy celebrity romance (Hollywood Billionaires) by Jillian Dodd <— LIVE!! JILLIAN DODD’S LATEST!! “Follow the lives and loves of those who work at Captive Films: …Written soap-opera style with multiple points of view, you can expect lots of drama, sex, and tabloid-worthy events.”
The Crossroads Duet by Rachel Blaufeld <— LIVE SUPER-BARGAIN duet bundle about TWIN BROTHERS in love with someone they can’t have!!
- Never Let You Go (Forever Yours Book 2) by Andrew Grey <— LIVE!! M/M ROMANCE ALERT!! “Friends since they met in school, Ashton and Brighton soon become much more. Ash and his aunt are Brighton’s haven away from his mess of a family, and when Ash enlists in the Army, Brighton learns to endure his long absences and eagerly awaits his return from missions. Until one day Ash doesn’t come back, and Brighton thinks his greatest fear has come true...”
- The Wicked Horse Boxed Set (The Wicked Horse Series) by Sawyer Bennett <— SAWYER BENNETT FIVE BOOK SERIES BUNDLE ALERT (and also super-bargain priced!!) “Never in your wildest dreams could you begin to imagine all the filthy and depraved things that go on inside The Wicked Horse. Step inside to make every one of your dirty fantasies come true.”
Kathy: I love Sawyer Bennett’s Offside Hockey Series. Her Wicked Horse Series Box Set is on sale … I haven’t read it but snapped it up.
-
Tate (Temptation Series Book 5) by Ella Frank <— SURPRISE!! ELLA FRANK’S LATEST M/M ROMANCE in her “Temptation” series JUST WENT LIVE!! (P.S. Here’s the series reading order)
- Deathstalkers MC Box Set Books 1-3 by Alexis Noelle <— BIKER BOOK BUNDLE ALERT!! Super-bargain priced, too! “The men of the Deathstalker MC Club are also loyal to the core. They stand by their club without question or fear, and when it comes to their women, there’s no holding them back. They love fiercely and ferociously. These men play for keeps, getting what they want when they want it…”
Keeper by Amy Daws <— LIVE!!! FAMOUS SOCCER PLAYER & SHE’S HIS EX-BEST FRIEND… “Best friends for most of their lives, everything changes when Poppy abruptly leaves London for University. Now she is back, and gone is the awkward girl from Booker’s youth. She has been replaced by a stunning woman with secrets. Secrets that Booker is desperate to know…”
- The Hard Count by Ginger Scott <— GINGER SCOTT SUPER-SALE ALERT!! MUCH-LOVED SPORTS HERO BOOK & the author just put it on supersale saying: “It’s a tailgate special LOL in honor of football season.”
Jaime: I finished The Hard Count this morning. Really lovely story with some themes that are really relevant – especially this week. A five star read for me.
Tasha: you should definitely read The Hard Count! It’s so much more than just a romance. More of the focus really is on football, the politics on that, family dynamic and struggles, and there are touches on drugs, gangs, violence. I got really caught up in the football, lol, I caught myself still with spirit chanting “Hoorah” (internally) days after! 😉
Danielle: The Hard Count by Ginger Scott was soooo good. I finished it around 3 this morning. Worth the lack of sleep, for sure lol.
When We Touch: A second-chance romance by Tia Louise <— TIA LOUISE’S RECENT RELEASE IS SUPER-BARGAIN PRICED RIGHT NOW! The author says:
Tia Louise: My new book is on SALE through the weekend–it’s a sexy, second-chance romance set in a small beach town… two young lovers torn apart by parents’ bitterness… an adorable 4 year old girl and CAKE!!!!
- Untouchable: An Unacceptables MC Standalone Romance by Kristen Hope Mazzola <— LIVE!! BIKER BOOK ALERT! “...The dust was finally settling from our last war. I was sober, the MC was healing from our loss, and life was getting back to normal. But regicide cannot go unpunished. And when a newcomer arrives and threatens all that we hold dear…well, he better watch his back...”
Cyanide by Ella Fields <— RECENT RELEASE AND WE HAVE AWESOME FEEDBACK!!! “…I wasn’t allowed to have him. Too bad I never cared much for the word no. Because I’d soon learn the hard way that too much self-indulgence could result in incurable consequences.“
Sarah: So I just finished Cyanide by Ella Fields and all I can say is WOW!!!! That’s probably because I stayed up all night to finish it 🙂 But it got me thinking, I would love some suggestions of “other side of the tracks” romance books. I immediately thought of Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles and the Truth and Lies Duet by Pepper Winters but would most definitely appreciate other titles because I’m just not ready to let go of the angst that comes with these types of stories.
- Cross: Devil’s Nightmare MC by Lena Bourne <— LIVE!! BIKER BOOK ALERT! HER STUDENT’S FATHER IS A BAD BOY BIKER… reminding her of the life she left behind. “My father was the president of an outlaw MC, and until I turned twenty-one a world of bikers, mayhem and crime was all I knew. Then a rival gang destroyed it all, killed my family and everyone I held dear, and made me the property of a brutal, ruthless man. I ran away, got an education, and haven’t looked back. Now I’m the guidance counselor at a small town junior high school, my old life so far behind me it might as well be someone else’s past, and I was happy to leave it there. But then I met Cross, the bad boy biker father of one of my wayward students…“
Coming Up Roses (The Southern Roots Series Book 1) by L.K. Farlow <— LIVE!!! SHE’S SINGLE & PREGNANT & THEN she crashes into him at the supermarket… “...her Grams taught her a thing or two about making lemonade out of life’s lemons. Then she meets Cash Carson. Reeling from a bad breakup, Cash has sworn off love. It led to nothing but pain and misery, and he’s determined to move forward alone. Until a redheaded Southern beauty crashes into him. With her shopping cart. At the local Piggly Wiggly…“
- Because of Him by Terri E. Laine <— LIVE!!! SHE WAS RAISED TO BE AFRAID... and then she met him. “Something inside me fiercely craves normal. Sheltered all my life and taught to be afraid, I want to be bold, fearless. Up until now I’ve kept myself and my heart safe. Tade Astor, a guy so hot he steals my breath away, jeopardizes it all…”
Undercover: Secrets & Lies by Jennifer Loren <— LIVE!!! JENNIFER LOREN ALERT!! SHE’S UNDERCOVER and then she meets him... “Laila sets out to take down the city’s most powerful criminal while defending the secrets that will keep her alive, but the moment she meets bad boy Benjamin Ryder, her mission takes on a whole new dimension — a deeply personal one…”
Sally: Hey Maryse! I have two new releases to add to your list! … Lily White has a new release Her Master’s Redemption AND Jennifer Loren has a new one out too, Undercover: Secrets & Lies and guess what?!?! OUR very own Lori LovesBooks Jackson did the cover! Isn’t it AWESOME?!?! … Love ya! and STAY SAFE!! xoxo
Her Master’s Redemption by Lily White <— LIVE!!! LILY WHITE DARK READ ALERT!! And can be read as a standalone. “...She thought she could deny me. She thought she could choose her fate or determine the course her life would run. She thought she would never love another because she couldn’t love herself. With a shattered heart and rebellious mind, she believed her life was broken. She chose death as an avenue to escape the life she was given, and she believed there was nobody who could stand in her way. As her Master, it was my duty to show her… …that all her beliefs were wrong.”
- Crazy Little Thing Called Love: The perfect laugh out loud romantic comedy you won’t be able to put down by Charlotte Butterfield <— LIVE!! SHE’S TAKING A BREAK FROM MEN… “Luckily, she has plenty to keep her mind off men. Between starting a business with ice queen Lucy, straightening out her sister Tasha’s tangled love life, and running a blog read by thousands of single ladies, Leila is soon snowed under. But she can’t help finding a little time for irresistible architect Nick – Lucy’s funny and infuriatingly sexy brother…”
Lucky Number Eleven by Adriana Locke <— ADRIANA LOCKE’S LATEST JUST WENT LIVE TODAY TOO! FOOTBALL STAR & HIS TEAMMMATE’S (and his ex best friend’s) SISTER ALERT!! “People say not to believe the things you read in magazines, but you know what? Most things you’ve heard about me are probably true… …Now, I know you’re wondering about that last Expose headline—the one about me and my teammate (and ex-best friend) Finn Miller’s sister, Layla James. That one is a little more complicated.”
- Guarded by R.C. Martin <— LIVE!! “…what exists between us Deserves a chance, but he won’t let me in…”
Grady Judd (Heartbreakers & Heroes Book 1) by Ciana Stone <— LIVE! HE’S A HEARTBREAKER, BUT NOW HE’S NOT THE ONLY HEARTBREAKER IN TOWN… “He was a sexy temptation, rolled up in a fine male package, and was all too willing to deliver a night of pleasure. He was also completely unwilling to let anyone inside his impenetrable wall. It was all fun and games or nothing at all. Until he showed back up in Cotton Creek this time to discover that he’s not the only heartbreaker in town, which leads to a whole new game and an entirely new question. Could Grady Judd finally have met his match?” P.S. Tee hee!! I’m especially giggling over the title of this book (the hero’s name), ’cause we have a Sheriff Grady Judd here in Florida (close to my own county) and he’s pretty infamous. But er… not for the “heartbreaker” thing.

I get to be first? *throws confetti*
Maryse, stay safe! That thing looks like it’s going to be bad, but I hope it doesn’t do too much damage to where you are. *hugs*
Thank you Tessa!! I’m as prepared as I can be, I believe.
Good! You, your family, and those puppies need to stay safe. 🙂
Stay safe Maryse. Sending lots of safe wishes your way.
Holy moly Maryse…I’m totally bitin’ my nails for you. Stay safe and keep in touch, my friend. *hugs and snuggles*
On a book note, We Own Tonight and Cyanide are SO MINE!!! I reloaded my Amazon card with $75 and I have a feeling it will be gone by this evening…I just realized that I have not clicked all the books I planned on clicking over the last couple weeks’ posts. I LOVE shopping sprees!!!
Amy, Cyanide is kind of a spin-off of Frayed Silk, but definitely a stand-alone. Just mentioning in case you have FS on your TBR you can decide which one you want to start with.
Meaning the H in Cyanide is a character in FS.
Bully by Penelope Douglas is 1.99!!
Also, I found one called The Sister by Louise Jensen on sale for .99 and it sounds GREAT.
Ahhhh, got it R…thanks for that info! I’ll make sure to read FS first. 😉
I doubt it matters unless you just *want* to have that background.
Maryse… where in FL are you again???
I’m in the Tampa Bay area (on the West coast of Florida, right about halfway up).
Stay safe Maryse! Are you not being evacuated?
Ahhhhh well, we are all being recommended to evacuate if possible (some are mandatory – those being directly hit right from the start down south, and flood zones), but I’m not in a flood zone, and the highways are clogged and the gas is a hard find. So instead I have set myself up to be able to weather it out as best as I can, here. I think it will be okay.
Amy, I meant to ask you. What did you think of Ghosted?
Stay safe! I love St. Petersburg near Tampa. My husband and I have stayed at the Sirata Inn many times.
Definitely will be praying for you and all those in the path Maryse! Stay safe and keep us updated as you can. It has flip-flopped as to whether it is coming my way and we are now back in its path just a lot further North.
I hope it’s not as strong by the time it comes your way, Maryse. Do you have portable chargers ready to go? ‘Cause no power and not being able to read would be awful. 😕
My closest experience was a typhoon in Japan, but the buildings were made of cement for that reason and it was actually kind of fun to watch it all go down…only because we were safe though. 😉
Tessa!! I freaking LOVED it!!!! Like, five-star and it-might-be-my-favorite-of-the-year LOVED it!! 😀
Stay safe Maryse! I’ll be looking for updates from you!
Amy, I’ve been a little click-happy today too….. Love my bday amazon gift cards!
Keep Reading & Stay safe , keep us posted!
Amy, I’ve just started to readIng Ghosted, loving it so far!
Awwwww Jean, my click-happy buddy! Always making me feel better about my indulgences. 😉
YAY Samantha!! I still get the warm and fuzzies every time I think of Ghosted. *dreamy sigh*
I bought Ghosted but then Amy compared it to the Romeo book and I didn’t like that one.
Oh my goodness that heroine……
Jean, is it your bday???
It was September 4th….I have a nice collection of Amazon cards to show for it. No one even asks me what I want anymore, they know! LOL!
bev, I think you would like Ghosted! I don’t think it was like the Romeo book!
Ohh well I’m enjoying it Bev, not read Romeo!
bev…I meant it was similar to the Romeo books in the way the past and present unfolded simultaneously, not the characters or story line or drama/angst levels. Just don’t want you to miss out on Ghosted because you didn’t care for Romeo. 😉
OMG Jean! I’m so sorry I missed your birthday!! I have been absolutely awful this year with remembering everyone’s birthdays. 🙁 What’s worse is I have a list on my iPad so no excuse to forget.
Come on bev! Have we ever steered you wrong before? No, never! Haha!
No problem Amy, I wasn’t really around commenting. Took a nice long weekend with my hubby! (And I think I missed yours too so we’re even)!
Anyone into country music? Just herring the news of Troy Gentry (of Montgomery Gentry duo) dying in helicopter crash in NJ. So sad!
Ugh that is such AWFUL news Jean. Breaks my heart.
*hearing not herring
STAY SAFE MARYSE AND NO STREAKING IN THE RAIN!
Awwwww come ON Ela!!! I WANNA!!!! *waggles eyebrows* 😛
The Break by Marian Keyes also went live but I CAN’T FIND THE LINK FOR THE US BOOK INSTEAD I KEEP GETTING UK
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Break-Marian-Keyes-ebook/dp/B06XHRQFR5/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
Stay safe! We’re also in Irma’s path here in Charlotte – although it looks like the worst of it will miss us. Hope the same for you! Either way, I figured all the rainy weather will be the perfect excuse to get some reading done. I’m REALLY looking forward to the new Corinne Michaels. I’ve seen it everywhere, and it looks so good! Love a good celebrity love story.
Happy belated Jean!
Happy birthday Jean!!!!!! 😀 <3 :D!!!!!!!
Thanks guys!
Yeah Maryse, that crash was only about an hour from my house.
Happy belated birthday Jean!
Maryse!!! The wind will blow you away! I’m just looking out for your safety…all 90 pounds of you!
Stay safe, Maryse!
Maryse, I hope you can keep us updated on how you are; I know I’ll worry if I don’t hear anything from you. Stay safe!!
Happy belated birthday Jean!! 🙂
Huh, that crash was about 20 minutes from me. So sad.
Now to go crazy one-clicking.
Thanks Ela and Cheryl!
I’m reading A Court of Wings and Ruin….damn I missed this world and my anxiety is over the top!
Happy Birthday Jean!
I hope your next year is filled to the brim with happiness.
Be safe Maryse, I’m in northern Florida and hunkering down, I have downloaded The Muse and Ghosted, so reading will be the plan
Thanks bev. Did you start Ghosted yet?
I didn’t think Romeo was angst. I found it to be odd. Just really odd, lol.
Lol. Not yet. I am in a huge reading slump right now. I’m not reading much. Just going with it, let it play out. Though I do have some library books I should try to get to.
Stay safe Maryse!!! Great list. I will be clicking away!!! The tbr list keeps getting bigger!!
Jean is reading a Court of Wings and Ruin! WOO HOO – I love that series so much. The series I am reading now is a wowza one too (The Prophecy series). I miss these worlds when I am done, but definitely need a little break soon. I am hoping with fall coming that I will be able to spend some time reading again. This is the least I have read in years! Literally, years.
Bev – I’m in a slump too. I just have to much going on. Redoing things in the house. On Pinterest for hours. There was a wedding. Illness. Family. Just so so busy. It’s weird. I am so ready for life to slow down again. All this hurricane talk isn’t helping. I am glued to CNN. I need to just turn the TV off, I think. Going to go pour myself a glass of wine and get back to my book.
Bev, you’ll love Ghosted. Promise. I’ve yet to hear anyone say they hated it.. This is after all the praise. If it were even Just Great, people would be saying so, rather disappointed due to all the praise, but instead, they are saying, OMG, it really is THAT GOOD. 🙂
Happy belated birthday Jean! I hope you have a lot of fun with those cards.
😀 And OMG, Wing and Ruin… I’m jealous you get to read it for the first time again. AND!!! Thank you for the NetGalley help. My first book is The Trouble with Twelfth Grave. *happy happy dance*
Thanks Tessa! I am so happy for you right now that that was your first book from NG!
I am loving the Court! Don’t want it to end!
I trust you all.
Yes, you should. This much variety of preferences loving a book has to say something.
Thank you Jean! And yes. The saddest part of Court was that it has to end.
“I trust you all.”
Except me. *giggle*
Love your Judi pic, by the way. 😉
Amy, I trust that if I ever burned all my bridges and started stealing to support my habit that my bf’s husband got me hooked on after our affair that caused him to drive over a cliff I could come to you and you would take me in and be my cheerleader and evrytime I did even the slightest socially acceptable thing you’d show your pride in me by looking at me with tears in your eyes and a hand to your chest as you whisper, “Oh my heart.”
But no. I do not trust your book recs.
Thanks. 🙂
I love her and that is her as Jean, one of my favorites of her characters. I know that our Jean is like 30 years younger, but can’t help my association. But it is totally a compliment.
Ugh. That is all… Just ugh. God, this first week back to work has kicked my tush so hard and I’ve had rotten allergies, so it’s been been a *week* around here.
First. *tosses extra amounts of birthday glitter* I am so sorry we missed it, Jean! Happy Belated Birthday, my book twin!!! Sending you the very best wishes for another happy, healthy and successful run around the sun! XOXO!!! Birthday cake shots?? Oh swoon, you’re on ACOWAR now?!? Gah, you lucky-lucky girl!!!
Second, Maryse, *hugs* please be safe. Keep us posted as much as you are able. I will worry to the extreme… Even though I am one of those people who loves natural disaster type movies on TV, the thought of it happening in real life keeps me up all night, literally!
Tessa, dang, you hadn’t read Misconduct yet? Wow! That seems crazy to me!
Amy… Holy. Crap. *blink, blink* best book of the year??? Well, you just sold me, I’ve been in a major slump too. Speaking of birthdays… Isn’t yours soon?
Cheryl, been thinking about you, hope you’ve survived your first week back and it wasn’t as insane as mine was.
Michelle and bev, me too.. Or rather, me three. I’ve been watching The Weather Channel at night instead of reading. I’m fascinated with Weather stuff.
Alright I guess Ghosted it is!
To anyone in Irma’s path… My prayers and positive thoughts are with you.
Ghosted made my top ten of all time. It seems to appeal to EVERYBODY.
I know! But I did enjoy it. Not as much as Bully or Corrupt, but still really enjoyable. 🙂
Grey, surprisingly my first week back wasn’t nearly as bad as it usually is. Don’t get me wrong, I still b!tch about wanting to start in October, because I HATE all the paperwork and beginning of school BS!! Sorry your’s was insane.
I haven’t been reading as much either, real life and home improvement projects getting in the way. I feel like (except for Ghosted) I’ve been in a slump too, but I think some of it is I’m way pickier than I used to be and kinda burned out on over-used scenarios.
I’ve been in book hangover he11! I did give up on a a couple books, but for the most part I’ve read some serious winners!
I haven’t posted for ages but just wanted to wish all of you in high risk hurricane areas safe passage through mother nature’s onslaught. We keep seeing updates here in Oz and it looks terrifying. Stay safe everyone. You’re in our thoughts down here!
Hi Lisa, nice to see you around.
Jean, happy belated birthday and have fun one-clicking.
Maryse, hope you are ok.
Jeesh, Ghosted is seeming to be a huge fave of EVERYONE. I sure hope I like it. I get stressed when I don’t love a popular book.
Oh, and BTW I wouldn’t trust Amy’s book recs either. 😉
Leslie, it’s not overly angsty. 🙂 Even if you are one who doesn’t love it, everyone seems to at least like it.
Bev, I’ll take it as a compliment!
Thank you Grey and Leslie!
Where are you Maryse? Please check-in! I’m not reading either. Can’t stop watching the hurricane news. I have friends and family down there.
Just teasing Amy!!! *huggles*
Awesome List. My top click this week was Wild Thing by Liberty Laine (HILARIOUS) and the first standalone was free too.
Maryse are you sure you can’t quickly move to Wisconsin?
OMG this is awful…
I’m here guys!!! 🙂 I’ve been brining in EVERYTHING from my outside area into the garage (patio furniture, garden things, the grill… hoses… ALL OF IT). Now I’m bleaching the bathtubs so I can fill ’em with water.
Then… cooking treats. 🙂
P.S. The hurricane will reach me tomorrow… and then overnight into Monday. THAT is when I *may* go silent… if I lose electricity. But I’ll hang out as much as I can until then.
*tackle hugs Maryse*
Now tie her up and bring her to Washington.
Pim and Hobbit chewed up my zip ties.
I told her to give them cookies.
See the desperation sugar cravings lead to?
Stay safe Maryse, you’re very brave!
Yes I second all those thoughts. We here in Australia are thinking of you and sending positive thoughts. *hugs to Maryse*
Jean hope you had a great day on your birthday.
I’m 19% into Ghosted and not in love with it yet. *runs to hide in corner* I keep waiting for the *good* bit. Um…….????? There are also these whole long sections told in 2nd Person present tense, which I find REALLY WEIRD to read. (Like: You walk into the room. You scratch your nose…. etc) What’s with that? Doesn’t anyone else find that disconcerting to read? The story and characters are OK but it hasn’t really hooked me and I’ve wandered off to some other reads.*drowns under pile of peanuts shot from all corners of the globe* But everyone else loves it SO MUCH I suppose I’d better keep trying.
But Jan… you’ll find that 2nd person “feel” soon enough and you’ll get it. And it is SO clever… it’s a whole story progression and transition and that’s an extra insight but works so well with the feel of the graphic novels.
Maryse, sending lots of good and especially safe wishes your way.
Jan…..ooooooh nooooo!
*hands Jan a peanut deflecting sheild”
I was worried about Ghosted after all the hype. I have a hard time with books that are not in 1st person. I hope its not a bust for me too.
It’s not all in 2nd person Leslie. Just some sections. But I’m finding them weird.
*puts peanut-deflecting shield in place and sighs with relief*
Maryse, I can’t imagine what your going through. Keep safe. Keep going with the updates so we know your ok.
Maryse, I make this Rocky Road, that is to die for. I wish I could send you some. It might make the storm worth while. That would be a great treat to have.
Happy birthday Jean, kisses from Australia.
Jan, keep going. I loved Ghosted easily 5 stars.
But sometimes I think I’m pretty easy to please.
That Maddy, I swear it was like my kids were talking to me.
Just finished ” We own tonight ” I really enjoyed that too.
,
,
Maryse sending you hugs and love and prayers and positive thoughts! Stay safe my friend. You will be in my thoughts all day today.
Maryse thinking of you and hoping you’re safe.
Stay safe
Amy, Maryse just told me on FB you need to make these! Cherry vodka sours!
2.5 ounces vodka
1/2 ounce lemon juice
1/2 ounce simple syrup (see note below)
smidge maraschino cherry juice
For simple syrup, heat equal parts sugar and water until sugar dissolves, let cool, store in fridge. I use a cup of each.
These are soooooo yummy!!
Thanks for including me Maryse…hope ur safe!!!!!!!
Oh YUM, R!!!!
I’m definitely making those next weekend! Not tonight because my tummy is a little upset 😕 and I have some crazy busy days ahead of me so I can’t afford any hangovers this week, but Friday night FOR SURE!!!
And Maryse doesn’t get any right now or she’ll end up twirling around outside and playing in the wind and rain. Don’t give me that look, missy…you know you would!! 😆
LOL!!! I totally wanna, Amy!!!!
The wind is exhilarating!!!!! *sigh* I’m a nut.
They are sooooo good. And soooooo strong…
Little bit of fun: The book I’m reading currently, Dark Wish by Yumoyori Wilson, has the best little heads up.
Dark Wish is written in Canadian English: A mixture of British and American English. I know how to spell, but that’s just how we roll and I have preferences with certain words.
It makes me wonder how many times she’s had people point out she misspelled something.
Thanks Maryse. I’m gonna hang in there and stick with it. No dancing in that wind, now. You stay in and be good. (Well, stay in, anyway 😉 )
*hugs* for all of our Florida friends. Stay safe, Maryse!!! I’ve been glued to weather updates all day and praying for all of you. Please keep us posted.
Did you guys hear they rescued a manatee in Florida that got beached?? All I kept thinking was… Stay inside Maryse! It’s not Manny!!!
Hey guys, Maryse has officially lost power as of a few minutes ago so she’ll be out of touch for a while.
You all will be relieved to know, however, that our adorable nutter friend is still in great spirits and is enjoying the sound of the gusty winds, LOL!!!
Come on, who among us wouldn’t be doing the same thing? I sure would be… 😆
OMG Grey!!! I’m cracking up here!
Sweet little manatee.
Thanks for the update Amy. 🙂
No problem, Cheryl! We all love our sweet friend and are all concerned for her.
Roberta! You’re in FL as well, right? Update us when you can…
We Own Tonight by Corinne Michaels is a brilliant read guys!!! Wasn’t sure what to expect but this author has become an automatic for me!! She. Did. Not. Disappoint. Easy 5 stars!!!
Maryse my thoughts and prayers for you guys!!! Xoxo
Thank you for the update Amy! I bet she’s enjoying it all. I totally would be enjoying the winds and rain. Add lightening and it’s perfect (just no hurricane).
I’ve often said I’d love to experience a hurricane – I know, easy to say when I’ve not been through one, and a bit heartless for those who have been devastated by one – but there is something about the fury of a storm that just speaks to my soul. Of course, I’d be riding it out in a concrete building, 40 feet above sea level, surrounded by my favorite snacks and a Kindle battery that never lost it’s charge. See…totally realistic!!! God bless all of those going through this, and stay safe!
Nope.
I love a windy day, but when the Wind starts breaking branches and I hear them thumping on my roof? I’m all ok thats enough. And that is nowhere near hurricane or tornado level.
I couldn’t imagine living somewhere and hearing the tornado alarms..
