Living in Iowa, Black Friday shopping is always waiting to see what the weather will do! So many good deals have been passed by because you couldn’t get to the stores….Now I just go online!!! 🙂
I don’t do black Friday at all. Stay into read and cook new things with leftovers.
LEFTOVERS!!! YES!!!
I’m cozy today, too… reading, eating…
And you’re right Brenda… and scoping out some online bargains (safe and sound!) LOL! 😛
Hi, I live in France so unfortunately no Black Friday for me, and no Thanksgiving either! 🙁
Although last year, with a couple of friends, we tried ourselves to a friday-Thanksgiving dinner that was a culinary blast. I was in charge of desserts and was mighty proud of my pecan pie and chocolate-butternut squash cakes !
Thanks for the giveaway.
This year it was a sleep in day instead. 🙂 The most hectic Black Friday was about ten years ago, my sister-in-law, her sister, my niece and I got up and four, went to Walmart, and from there went to too many stores to count. In the end, at about five o’clock, we ended up at the mall, shopped, ate dinner and finally left when it closed at ten. To this day, I’m still shocked I shopped for literally sixteen hours straight!
Happy Black Friday – I found a bunch of KA books on sale for $1.99 – including my favorites Mystery Man and Motorcycle Man.
Maryse, those book tables are awesome. I love when I see homes with whimsical pieces like that. Or decorated with color, pattern, and textures. It takes a special eye, whish I had it.
Elle, but you live in France. *sigh*
Though realize must have been scary and incredibly sad there right now.
Oh, I bought an Out of Print t-shirt as a gift once at a beautiful book store. Anyway, I was really happy with it.
I stayed home and decorated my tree…but I did manage to snag a few deals online. My favorite: Barnes and Noble had 30% off anyone item code – I got my brother a book he wanted and then in order to get myself to the $25 mark to get free shipping – I had to purchase myself a book (all in the name of saving money!)
I was crazy shopping at Walmart last night and once I got to the front of the line (50 shoppers deep) to be assigned to stand in yet another line at check stand… thinking … what was I thinking!? … a woman tried to cut into the front of the line. The Walmart .. director of traffic.. told her “we have police support and I’ll call them over right now” .. wow! So worth coming out! LOL
Maryse! Thank you so much for the kindle fire heads up! I was able to do 3 of those handy little deals for my cherubs and my niece and nephews! yay! Would be awesome to be chosen as the gift card winner to help pay for that haha!
I was out shopping at 3pm yesterday, Walmart, Bath & Body Works, Old Navy, Kohl’s, Sears, Victoria’s Secret, arrived home at 3am and stowed my packages, then read Eighteen last night until 5am. Slept until eleven. Today was supposed to be a writing catch up day, tomorrow will definitely be spent writing and Sunday too.
Happy Black Friday. In my country we do not have black friday but that doesn’t stop me from looking for online sales. Amazon had a 30% off deal on one paperback that you purchase and I really loved that because I’m an international reader and anything to help with the shipping is a blessing so I bought myself a paperback of The Traveling Man by Jane Harvey Berrick. I had my eyes on that book for quite a long time and I am glad that I was able to buy it.
Just spent to much on Christmas candles at frostbeard studios.
Promo code for them is GIVETHANKSREADBOOKS
I have always stayed away from Black Friday shopping. Use to have all my shopping for Christmas finished by the end of October. The last couple of years I’ve purchased more through the Internet so I’ll linger my buying a bit longer. Good luck to all you die hard shoppers out there in finding the great deals!!!
I’m in a candle buying mood, I guess. Just saw these on a gift guide.
Tessa, your favorite book, lol.

I did some black Friday shopping but was home by 10:00am. I got somethings on my kids list so it was a good day.
I will never forget Black Friday 13 years ago when I was 10 months pregnant(ok…lol- technically it was 8 but it felt like 10!) and dragging my hubby at 4am(or some ugly/early hour) to Best Buy. I was determined to get some computer deal that was going to save me lots of $$(can’t even recall the amount now).. so we get into the store when it opened(back then they only opened early on Fri). I’m waddling so I send hubby off to get it cuz you know i wasn’t going very fast and he returns telling me they handed out slips to people outside that were in line much longer than we were and the computer I wanted was sold out. What???! So I’m standing there trying to get my husband to go back and give his rt arm for my deal cuz I just knew they had to have ONE for me-right? And this angel walks by and says “are you wanting …” and I said “YES” and he goes- “I have an extra slip because my wife got one too so you can have it”…. BEST BLACK FRIDAY MOMENT EVER! I think that day is the most we’ve ever saved on this popular shopping date. Happy belated Thanksgiving Maryse and thank you for the awesome give away:)
I found a great deal at Hastings bookstore today – 5 used books for $20. I bought 10 hardback books worth over $100 for $40. The young clerk asked me ‘ Are you buying ALL those books?!’ As if he’d never seen anyone buy so many books before. LOL He’s obviously not a reader!
LOL MichelleMarie!!!!
I went one year and that was the last. At Walmart a woman couldn’t get to the wrapping paper so she threw hot chocolate on the floor, it worked. I wanted to go to Walmart today around noon, the husband said no. I guess bail money could be put to better use. I’ll spend extra or buy online if it means keeping my sanity.
LOL Tina! You are so right!! The potential for public chaos and the money THAT ends up costing might not be so worth it, in the long run. 😉
I got the $35 Fire Tablet, too! Woot!
shopped online
No desire to participate in the Black Friday craziness out there. I’m content to eat leftovers and read all day. 😉
I HAVE to get the “50 sips” and “drinking club has a book problem” wine glasses…love ’em!!!! 😀
And the socks.
And the pj’s.
And the scarf.
How fun is this list!!
I chill in PJs all day!!
Black Friday sales in Australia is nowhere near as awesome as in US. 🙁 Shipping costs negate the savings. Need to wait for boxing day sales.
Best Black Friday, last year got deals on toys for the grandkids. I hate crowds and this was the best experience I had shopping. Online is where it’s at!
Stayed home, but found a pre black Friday deal on a tv. It was nice to avoid the hassle.
I didn’t Do any shopping this year but worked instead. I’m hoping to make up for it on cyber Monday.
Thanks for the give away!
I stay in the comfort of my home and black friday from my computer. This year every purchase I made on black friday was one clicking books and they were all for me.
Blackfriday is crazy. It’s so much fun. I love going out at with all the crazy’s.
Thanks for he giveaway.
This year I would have been alone over Thanksgiving and Black Friday as my husband & son had gone hunting and extended family members were either sick or out of town. My new daughter in law came and stayed with me Wed-Friday. We watched old movies and shopped a little and laughed and got to know one another a little better. Something to be thankful for.
I did some Black Friday shopping! Got some good deals!
I treated myself to some Kristen Ashley books that I hadn’t read yet. Then my daughter and I did some Black Friday shopping. We didn’t get any amazing deals, but we got some shopping done and had fun together doing it!
It was relatively calm for me, I had nothing in mind to buy. Just enjoyed being with my teenage daughter.
I can’t handle crowds so black Friday sales are out for me but online he’ll yes!
My daughter is my Black Friday companion, so last year we waited at Barnes and Noble for 2 hours for some autographed books she decided it was boring and went next door to Sports Authority to do some shopping since they were open. It turned out awesome because unbeknownst to us Sports Authority were giving out scratch off tickets and Alyssa got 50$ spending spree. She was so happy she screamed and thinking something was wrong I left our place in line
Black Friday for me is waking up at 5am to a 2 year old and 6 year old who wake before the sun. 😉 But online shopping makes it so much easier to tolerate.
Black Friday for me is….. Wait until Saturday! I sat home Friday and read KA’s Walk Through Fire. Specifically waited until the long weekend for me to enjoy!
This year? Waiting for black Friday to come, listing the things I wanted to buy and then forgetting what day I was living in and remember it when it just passed. (Crying out loud!) Well…
